Im running this same setup but with a 19t pinion. Motor runs cool. Esc reaches thermo cutoff at 200 degrees. I bought a 50mm GC fan for the xlx2 and it fixed it. You will need another fan bro. Just giving you a heads up if you havent found out by now. Enjoy your build. My outcast has the 800kv combo on 52pinion 34spur with gc fans. No overheating. Dopeness
THANKS BIG BRO. YES SIR. LOVE EM. I also picked up the dwalt gyroscopic screwdriver and pro tek tru torque bits. LOVE IT BRO.🔥Turn your wrist right it tightens, left it loosens.
IMPO, it is better to cut the rear tab off the esc mount. The esc will sit flat and it's not on top of the center diff mount plus the front tab is still there to use a ziptie for the wires. Edit: From what I have read and video's I have watched, one of the reasons the xlx2 has been catching fire is too small of connectors. You need to use 6.5mm or the qs8 connectors to carry the higher amps. Get rid of the ec5 connectors.
EXCELLENT info. DEFINITELY should have cut the rear tab as opposed to the front. ALL GOOD. I can get the esc up to get into the center diff. Once I do. I’ll cut the rear and slide it down. Lost the front. Oh well. I’ve seen videos on it and I’ve been watching it. LOVING it.
It has been fine other than a couple leads blew. Nothing major, just a solder back up thing. But like everyone I suggest QS8s. I’m switching over. I hate soldering so I am starting to buy from radio control power. You can get qs8 or just 8mm bullets attached. I get 8mm bullets and buy a series adapter. 8mm to qs8s and it’s been PERFECT. Plus I can switch to an 8mm bullet to ec5s adapter if I want to use my Ec5 batteries. Be giving them a shout soon🙏🍻
