I think Ace's 10,000 album is thoroughly enjoyable; 45 years ago I would never have imagined sitting here enjoying new music from my favorite spaceman! A Frehley album has never been a technical marvel, and the cheese factor gets a little high at times - but you can feel his heart and soul brewing throughout the entirety of 10,000 Volts in particular. Paul and Gene, of Ace's former band, are probably jealous of this album. 10,000 Volts: catchy as hell Walkin' on the Moon: love the riffs - indulgent space cheese! Cosmic Heart: dark & moody, I really love that this could have fit THE ELDER, no cap; AmIriiiiiight? Maybe even better than Dark Light. Cherry Medicine: the grinding guitar gives me goosebumps, so groovy! Back into My Arms Again: Frehley's Comet era sound for sure, but it is decently fleshed out Fightin' for Life: wow, forget about Stella, Ace got his groove back! I also hear Stevie Nick's I Need To Know here. Blinded: probably my least fave or memorable, but great guitars Constantly Cute: cute. could have pumped more energy by extending those perky chorus lead-ins (You are, you are) Life Of A Stranger: a cover of a dark song that I haven't heard before, but I dig it for a change of pace for Ace Up in the Sky: great solo ................ but weak akin to Blinded, not all that memorable Stratosphere: a gorgeous aural adventure that has a few cool Shock Me moments as it sunsets Score: 9/10 on its own, but 10/10 for a Frehley album - I feel Ace lives up to his "best album since 1978" bravado. 👏⭐🌟🌠🌌
So many haters. so many haters that aren't rockstars. whatever you say, ace is Ace, and he's a rockstar and you're not. BTW I like everything I've heard so far...
Personally, I would've released either "Cosmic Heart" or "Up In The Sky" as the second single. They're both much better than #2 and #3 singles that were released, IMO. I also like "Fightin For Life" and the riff in "Blinded." So far, my favorites are: "Up In The Sky " "Cosmic Heart" "Fightin For Life" "Stratosphere" "10,000 Volts" The nice thing about all of the songs is that they don't overstay their welcome. They're here for long enough, and then gone. They dont drag on and on. I appreciate that
I really wish there were less YES men in the making of Ace's albums to be able to come up with suitable solutions to vocal challenges. Lots of technics available to enhance a vocal or even add some guest vocalists as I'm certain there are many current vocalists who are fans that would love to participate.
I would agree, Also, I love Ace's guitar playng, somgwriting, and style so please try not to misconstrue this: I think Ace has gotten more vocally lazy in his STUDIO RECORDINGS on the last couple albums. A lot of the tunes here he sounds tired and unfocused. NOT on Fighting for Life, however. I think a more stern producer and some guest vocalists would help make songs reach their potential vocally.
He's having fun making music and living life. He's 72. Don't like it. Don't buy it or listen to it. Nothing delusional about liking it. It's a group of fun, non pretentious songs. Move on and let us enjoy it.
10,000 volts the song is probably the best of the album. Back into my arms again is the 2nd best but I enjoy the demo better. Everything else is ok. Not great but not bad. There’s a lot of auto tune on the album too.
No way. There’s a couple of decent tunes. But, vocals are mostly horrendous by anyone’s standards. Listen to the vocals on Back into my arms. The worst vocals I’ve ever heard. I couldn’t believe how bad it was. Not even close to 78’, Frehley’s Comet or Anomaly.
The problem with this album is that Ace hyped it up too much so people expected too much. It’s not bad but it’s just so average. No way is this his best album since 78, not even close, so I’m very surprised by this video
The best song on the album is easily Fightin' for Life, and the worst song is a tie between Constantly Cute and Cherry Medicine. Ace's voice on Cherry Medicine sounds like he drank a whole bottle of cherry cough medicine before recording it, and Constantly Cute is one of the cheesiest songs I've ever heard. All in all I'm not a fan of this album. The only decent song is Fightin' for Life, and the rest of it is mediocre to downright awful.
I'm just about through listening to the whole album for the first time...I like it much more than I thought I would after hearing the first two "singles." Terrible choices for the singles.
This album is meh. I have given it three listens. It doesn’t sound better after each listen. Ace’s voice gets taxing after a while. Some songs are flat out annoying. Father Time is undefeated. 3 out of 10.
I just listen to the album and let us be honest the album is very mediocre with simple lyrics and boring singing. Better than the solo 78. I don’t think so. O Jeah I am not a troll but kiss fan since 76.
He never said it was better than ‘78 album. He said it was best since the ‘78 album which it still isn’t. But stop comparing even though he did. All his albums have their faults. This one is just different. Just think if every album sounded the same. How monotonous that would be! Embrace the difference especially since it’s only been 50 years since the ‘78 album. I actually like all his albums for what they are. Maybe you need a more open mind! I like this album for what it is except for 3 songs. Give it up!
It was never going to be better than 78, and if anyone thought it was going came in with way too high expectations. Then again, it’s a fine album in my view, nothing spectacular but not terrible either. As for the lyrics, let’s be real here KISS and Ace lyrics have always been simple. “I’m the kind of guy who likes feelin high feelin high and dry and I really like to fly.” Yeah, they’ve never been Shakespeare.
Hard pass. I’ve been an Ace fan for life since I was four years old in 1978, but this is the most mediocre bar rock ever recorded. I can’t believe how subpar it is, and everyone who is even remotely honest with themselves knows this.
Big Ace guy. Purchased every album of his going back to the 78 solo. I am keeping my money on this one. You know what to expect with Ace at this point. And somehow he went well below my expectations. Dead production, dead vocals, and mediocre riffs. 3.5/10

Just because someone doesn’t like something, doesn’t mean they are haters. Objective opinion is not hate.

Nice review! Job well done. Looking forward to listening to it. It arrived just minutes ago.
Congrats Ace.
CONGRATULATIONS ACE!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST 🎸🎸🎸🎸👽👽👽🤘🤘🤘
I walked into HMV no Ace Album. Asked behind the counter. 1 vinyl and 2 cds on order but late to arrive to shop

You're right. The worst aspects by far are the lyrics and the vocal delivery. It's dreadful.

Ace has never been a singer, he's just has his own style that most kiss fans liked.
Love it, it’s awesome! ❤
Is it me or does the album cover look like the ufos on the end of the road tour?
It's you.
@@rking3724 Sorry it isn't Looks just like them sorry. It is funny though.
tommy thayer is the result of when AI decides what an Ace is. lol
Not in stores except one (not Walmart)…and the two they ordered had been sold….very disappointing not to be able to find a cd on the day of release….
That should tell you how many people are buying it.

72 is the new 40
Ace is in the place🤘
That's some Ace-caliber poetry right there.
Congratulations Ace all the hard work and all the best wishes 😊
Thanks for the review. Very honest ⚡️🤟🏼 Bruce Brown …Im mean Steve 😂
Ace has always had really cheesy, shallow lyrics. For me its the biggest weakness of his songwriting.
I love this album!!
Great album!!! 🎉❤😊
Ace's masterpiece...
This is the most delusional review I've heard so far. This record is mostly an embarrassment. Can't believe you even complimented the vocals.
Life of a stranger is not written by Ace...it's a cover song by a female artist named Nadia.
Yes but nothing like the original by Nadia
10,000 volts the song is probably the best of the album. Back into my arms again is the 2nd best but I enjoy the demo better.
Everything else is ok. Not great but not bad. There’s a lot of auto tune on the album too.
I bought the record I think it's his best effort yet...
What? so it’s better than 78? Lol

@Batlizard74 love seeing another person who really rates Anomaly
I like the album. I think Ace is a great player
Hey, at least he's singing his songs. More than what I can say about Paul.
I think this is a great record......much heavier guitar than his previous records
Up In The Sky might be the sleeper on the album. Great song!
It's not great, but it's better than anything Kiss has done in the last few years.
They haven’t done anything in 12 years that’s why lol
@@JCStorm76i was about to say 😂 they haven’t made an Album since Monster
LOVE IT!
Ace didn't write any of this accept the older track. This is the new Steve Brown album. Look at writing credits.
Sure😊
Ace didn't write 90% of the songs. Steve Brown wrote most of the record and Ace contributed the solo's and vocals.
I’m disappointed. The singing, or lack there of, is brutal. I’ll keep my money
Very wise...10 volts..album is weak

Honestly, I think the entire album is horrible. It's extremely difficult to listen to.

It's extremely lame.. sorry Ace..
