    People (more prestigious critics, if that means anything) all said 23 vintage was really challenging in st emillion, but their scores definitely don't reflect that (still pretty high) compared to 22's. They were sponsored by the wineries?

    its very easy, 2022 was extremely dry, almost no rain during the vegetation period and 2023 was one of the wettest summers in a long time. thats why mildew was an issue. so we got extremely small berries and huge concentration of 2022 versus the “watery” style of 2023. 2023 will go down in history as one of the weakest vintages of the decade but obviously some wineries have made incredible wines.
