      Dodgers don’t have more money than the Yankees the dodgers getting away with all this because of the Japaneses .. deferring money is normal but not a billion deferred if another team does that the mlb will get on their ass because they obsessed with othani yamamoto and sasaki

      Me as Yankees fan surprise. Probably Mike and Yankee organization. The Yankees won 3 peat by getting about 1 Tier 1 player and majority of player were home grown like Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Andy Petite and Jorge Posada . Not the way the Dodgers are doing in last 2 years. Trying to build a super team or All-Star team. This isn’t good for Baseball and the small market teams without deep pockets owners

    Baseball has not long wanted a cap. Fans don't want a cap. They want their teams to spend.

    • @TonyTone1
      @TonyTone1 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      A salary cap is in order for the Dodgers to stop this madness of getting 1-2 tier 1 players like Shotani and Yamamoto in 2023 off season and now in 2024 offseason Blake Snell, Soki and Tanner Scott that’s 3 tier 2 players. They have deferred billion dollar players salaries

    You don't need to be as smart as a hedge fund manager to understand signing Ohtani for $700M is a no-brainer. You just need to know simple subtraction that even a second grader can do:
    Shohei Ohtani's annual salary: $70M
    Dodger's annual corporate sponsorship revenues from Ohtani: $70M
    $70M - $70M = 0
    The Dodgers essentially got Ohtani for free. Before his signing, many people thought Ohtani's $700M price tag was overpriced.

    • @chrisweidner4768
      @chrisweidner4768 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Well said. Even thinking you’re being conservative. Massive revenue stream created by Shohei.

    • @CharlieBonner-b9m
      @CharlieBonner-b9m 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Actually the number is 2.8B$ return when factoring in all the returns

    • @George-f8h
      @George-f8h 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @ True. $70M is a low estimate. There are reports it could be $120M or higher. This does not account for his deferred salary, which will be worth much less in the future due to inflation. Because Roki Sasaki wants to play for the Dodgers and his Japanese teammates NOW, the Dodgers are the beneficiary of saving $300M, the amount they would have to pay him had he chosen to come to the states a few years later. As a result, the Dodgers have control over Sasaki for the next 6 years. Ohtani's signing is a gift that keeps on giving.

      Here’s the other thing, if you’re a fricking baseball billionaire owner, hire the very best legal and financial people to tell you what and how you could run your team better, how to make the CBA work for you, and how to invest better to make more money.
      Then present that to your baseball people and say how do we make this work together. But if you’re the one at the top who is meddling or limiting the spending, it’s on you. If your market can’t support it, then say so and live within what you can do, or get more investors, sell or move the team.

    • @tylerbrenard9584
      @tylerbrenard9584 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Absolutely, but also don’t forget that most of Ohtani’s money is deferred. That means the $70 mil in real value is only $40 mil per year. So no matter the sponsorship money being 70 to 120 or 120 plus, they are making profit off his contract. And that’s not including the on field value he brings (which is excessive in of itself).

  • @danielleon-uu7kp

    One thing they have to agree on 1st is the cap to the FLOOR. At that's where the discussions end I bet.

    How dare does he say the NFL is more competitive than baseball? So he thinks the Chiefs dynasty is parity? Especially with the refs on their side. Did he also forget the Patriots dynasty? Oh yeah he also said the Bengals are competitive. Well guess what? Since paying Joe Burrow the Bengals haven't made the playoffs because the QB wanted too much money, they don't have enough money to build around him. Good luck when Ja'mar Chase gets paid because then the Bengals will be cooked. Most team can't win under the salary cap especially when players want to get paid a lot of money and even threaten to holdout and miss games if they don't get what they want. The NFL is by far the least competitive league right now.

    • @barak-rocky-giles2081

      At least smaller market teams like KC can win in the NFL. That’s the point. In baseball, smaller markets like Kansas City are lucky to win the World Series once every 40 years. Smaller market teams like Seattle, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Baltimore, Tampa, Colorado will never win. At least in the NFL any team could win and become a dynasty if they spend their money right. It’s not so much the dynasties, but who is creating these dynasties.

Finally players are calling them and fans on social media literally troll the Chiefs with memes of the refs kissing with Mahomes. Nobody respects the Chiefs anymore, bozo. The Patriots dynasty was linked to cheating and the NFL did nothing about it. The NFL Is rigged. So you think cheating is ok and refs rigging games is right? Bozo.

    For those fans who complain about DJ LeMahieu’s 6-year contract extension not aging well, consider that he wanted 4 years and $100 M, however Cashman wanted to fit his AAV under the salary cap so he reduced the total to $90 M spread over 6 seasons to arrive at $15 M AAV instead of $25 M AAV. If Cashman had given DJ what he asked, his 4 years would have expired by now.

    Before the Dodgers won this year, after last year people felt they choked. They didn’t make it out of the first round. Steve Cohen couldn’t get any of these Japanese players. In one year I do not think George spent like this. What is really hurt the Yankees is bad fundamentals. Freddie Freeman really hustles. He is probably going to be a Hall of Famer.

    "Is Shohei Ohtani Guilty and Smart or Innocent and Stupid?"
    "Did Rob Manfred Cover Up Shohei Ohtani Involvement?"
    "Shohei Ohtani Gets Away with Everything"
    "Shohei Ohtani Won't Answer Any Questions"
    I was so happy when the Yankees got taken down by the Dodgers in the World Series and you could argue that without Ohtani this past season, the Dodgers would not have won the World Series.

    The 2005 NY Yankees payroll of 205M was 9.54% of MLB's total payroll. For the 2024 season (based on MLB's total AAV of $6.65B) that would be $634M. Dodgers still have 200M+ to go until they reach what the Yankees spent in 2005.

      The Yankees never did any slimey 💩 like the Dodgers are doing. I’m not a Yankees fan, but they never pissed everyone off like this.
      The Dodgers are deferring $1.5B to circumvent luxury taxes and if they lose out, it’s no big deal bc the company is worth $335B.
      They’re also stealing every top Japanese player bc Ohtani is setting up deals with every future Hall of Famer from Japan before they even come to this country. I believe the owners that suspected he did this. MLB investigated, but they didn’t do anything bc of all the Japanese money they make for MLB. But it’s so obvious what’s going on ever since Ohtani got there. When Murakami goes there next teams are going to strike.

    MLB needs to put a stop 🛑 to this Dodgers madness of deferring billions dollars of players salaries and getting 2-3 Tier 1 players in trades. Dodgers are going at an exaggerating pace to buy a championship, unlike the Yankees did in 90’s and 2000’s. In 2023 off season they got Shohei Ohtani, Yamamoto,Tyler Glasnow and Teoscar Hernández .Now in 2024 offseason they got Blake Snell, Soki and Scott Tanner.
