The belgian goverments message with the new expat regime is "don't trust me, I can change rules on the fly and you will suffer", kind of like the lousy dutch expat law change few years ago. I worked 4 years ago in Eindhoven and now despite having the old regime in belgium, cannot use it and also cannot switch to the new one. I am going to the US. After all, who wants to pay 50% income tax to a lousy oversize government.
