And MAN they put a LOT of work into cases! I listened to one last night where they spent weeks traipsing around town trying to track down a petty jewel thief's stolen goods, which they believed were hidden at the thief's apartment but the thief wouldn't give up his address! Said he was homeless! And every day, lol, they literally took the handcuffed suspect with them! I kid you not it was days and days of this! Can you imagine THE COST!!! I often smile at the corniness, but I was busting up with this script!!! Good times, though I love all the episodes!
@@moxievintage1390..that episode is nuts and it’s so hot while they are going from building to building, block by block 🥵 It’s not an episode I like that much
@@bartbutkis… he was an actor making a lot of money depicting a cop. I don’t think he was a wannabe tough guy, he just played the role according to 1950s standards of what a tough guy cop supposedly was. That’s all.
I can't fall asleep without these shows
It's a great way to cap off the night....traveling back to an era of America where things made more sense.
@@anonymousnoname1889 so true, an America that is long gone to our collective detriment

Dragnet was unique in that it appeared on all four of the mass media of the 1950's, radio, television, newspaper and movies.

Moxie that was the episode of with Harry Morgan as the CROOK spouting sarcastic lines at Friday and his own as he put it "Dumb Dame"
"When cops were tough"? Joe Friday was a poser and a tough-guy wannabe. He would have got his ass kicked in the real world.
