the ghost girls do actually have lore, they're all references to japanese folk tales. ash blossom specifically is a reference to a story about a dog who finds gold in its owner's yard, but then the neighbor borrows the dog and it only digs up bones, so the neighbor kills the dog. but the dog continues to find treasure for its owners from beyond the grave, culminating in the owners sprinkling ash on the trees in their yard to turn them into beautiful cherry trees. meanwhile every time the owners are given treasures by this dog spirit, the neighbor tries to take the treasures and they become useless to him, causing the neighbor to destroy them in rage. and eventually the neighbor goes to prison and everyone rejoices or whatever. basically, ur opponent is trying to search for treasure in their deck and bcuz they are wicked and sinful (by virtue of being the ash player's opponent), the spirit of this dog comes in and is like ah ah ah not so fast. that's also why she has dog ears and is a zombie btw

Nibiru's lore is that whenever gets activated, it puts a stop to whatever is playing against it by interrupting mid lore dump with "rock falls, everyone dies."

Underworld Goddess of the Closed World is one that I really, really want to know more about. She seems kind of meh until you remember her original name was *Saros - Eres Kurnugias* , and suddenly that's like three Mesopotamian concepts in one. I wanna know about who she is, why she has a ghost dragon behind her, why he eats an opponents monster, why she bought unaffected insurance without getting the untargetable bundle.
I love the idea of like Venominaga Deity of Poisonous Snakes sitting in an insurance office trying to negotiate out a better deal on Unaffected and Untargetable Insurance.

The existence of Pyramid and UFO Turtle has always made me really want an old fashioned archetype of turtles that are just endless recruiters. Like a more defensive version of Gouki. I'd also love more cards that read like Nibiru. Maybe a card that gives you draws if your opponent adds 5 cards to their hand in one turn

I know that Suships is the most popular food archetype in the game followed by Hungry Burger with its recent wave of support but another archetype revolving Potato Chips alongside the yet to be printed cards like Potatoman, Carrotman and Onionman could easily be the greatest thing ever and while we are at it, throw in there retrains of Bean Soldier, Jerry Beans Man and Mystic Tomato.
Thank you for the Bunilla/Rabidragon bit! They are my favorite normal monsters and definitely need support (both for the game and from our hearts)

I would love an archtype who's lore is just a bunch of friends playing a TTRPG.
Boss monsters would be either the players' late game characters or actual bosses they have to fight.
Traps and spells would be different happenings in their story.
Maybe one player's character dies and they get replaced by a vaguely similar but totally new character.
You could make then lv monster retrains ? There was already a dice card in the level archetype they should be dnd lv monster retrains with level monsters too
the concept's kinda split between vaylantz and the adventurer engine. vaylantz acknowledges the tabletop aspect through its mechanics and directly in its art, though it's specifically a tabletop _wargame,_ while the adventure engine goes for the standard fantasy tabletop theme, 'cept it's mixed with the isekai concept to give it the card game equivalent of a first-person perspective. both are really cool and vaylantz has a card with the most cursed text i've see in a long, long time, but neither quite fit what you're looking for
part of the problem is that i imagine your thing would have to be a tcg archetype, as a lot of the tabletop tropes we're familiar with aren't actually part of tabletop itself. they're bits of the metagame ( in the general sense, rather than just the competitive bits ) built off of the many stories shared across the western tabletop sphere, and while i don't doubt there's common ground we share with the japanese and korean side of things from playing the same games? either ocg drawing from _their_ tabletop cultures isn't something i'd expect to end up as loving a tribute to the medium in our eyes as, say, the mtg dnd set, because it'd all be references to stuff we might not be familiar with. mechanical stuff like dungeon loot and long rests, sure, but a tragic death in the party followed by the introduction of someone completely unrelated, yet uncannily similar?

Dark Blade is definitely connected to Paladin of White Dragon considering their Metalsilver Armor & Raregold Armor similarities. I swear I remember watching a yugitube lore video on Warrior Dai Grepher and his alternate selves, where they implied that Dark Blade was a darker version of Ryu Senshi because they both held power over dragons, but that could be a stretch.
Dark Blade is implied to be the past alias of Dai Grepher. Ryu Senshi is one of the possible future versions of Dai Grepher.
We know what inspired Magikey, though I wish we could have more info on the numerous worlds Clavkiys visits, as well as "who is the bird Vepartu is riding in Simul Archfiends? Will we see it in a future support?"

Bugroth is a series of monsters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. The monsters are based on the "WarMECHs" from the first Final Fantasy game.
I for one find Visas lore very interesting. At its face, it's just a dude fighting doppelgangers to fix their hearts, but can also be interpreted as a man struggling and doing his best to come to grips with schizophrenia or something similar. It's a pseudo-psychological story, and I find it great.

Anyone knows what Zera's deal is? He has a warrior who can be your angle or yuor devil, so there's probably something about him.
There's a lore video about him already. There's multiple different endings for him depending on the path he chooses. He was searching for the Sanctuary in the Sky for power but along the way he somehow stumbled into pandemonium and met the Archfiend's (keep in mind they're not necessarily evil) and they gave offered him power but in return he'll become one of them and he took it becoming Mazera Deville.
Then there's him actually finding the sanctuary in the sky and the angels there offered him power which he immediately took and became one of the most powerful there and became archlord zerato (love his art btw) however he became arrogant and twisted from the power and would lead the sanctuary to ruin becoming Darklord Zerato.
Then there's an ending where he couldn't find the Sanctuary but instead finds.....Ryu-Kishin Powered who somehow convinces him to become one with him in exchange for power Zera agrees and by combining together they become Zera the Mant
And finally in another ending he stumbles upon the sanctuary but he tried to earn the power instead and becomes Zeradias the herald of heaven he's a messenger for the sanctuary and is gifted great powers. Eventually through his loyalty he becomes The Angel of Zera
if i remember correctly (i could be wrong) but i think Dark Blade is Warrior Dai Grepher in a alternative universe (along side many other Versions like i think its called something like Chaos dai grepher, dark grepher, lucious (the level monster one) The fusion one with Spirit ryu etc.)
Do lotd of the heavenly prison did actually get some lore. Iirc, he's the sealed king of a demonic army or something along those lines

I would actually hope that one day there's an archetype where you have one card that is the main character, field spells that showcase the different parts of a bigger place they are in, and boss cards associated with those field spells. You can have spell cards that play as utility options for the main character/boss monsters. I bet you can dump a lot of lore into a story like that. It doesn't have to be some meta deck or anything, something fun for people see as it gains more support.

Nibiru is actually based off a wack ass apocalypse theory of the same name, where a rogue planet was supposedly gonna collide with the earth. The effect also brings to mind Chrono Trigger's Lavos as well.

Forget about the love story of Albaz and Ecclesia. I wanna know more about the two dudes from Stained Glass of Light and Dark. Who's this fiend dude? Why don't we have a card of him, but we have the angle one? Why does the angle have such a nice belly? Are they possibly related to the Dream Mirrors? We may never know...
Also, since this last trap card I'd love to get an archetype or something for those Underroot/ Overroot cards. Their artworks are insane.

I would like to see the lore of the Beast Kings; we know of the humiliating defeats Behemoth gets that turns him into Behemoth, the King of a Hundred Wars, but how did he get his title, to begin with? Why are there so many beasts named King of the beasts? Did he have to fight the eldritch-looking King of the Beasts for his title? Where does Barbaros fit into all of this, since he's a beast-warrior? What about Alpha? He's obviously friends with Behemoth, but is he Behemoth's partner? Superior? Mentor? We need to know, Konami!

as the visas starfrost lore's strongest soldier i just wanna say the visas lore is some of yugioh's best work in terms of expressing characterization thru art and card text, but the plot structure is such a fucking sack of wet shit that it's hard to get invested in it or give a fuck about anything that's happening

They appear in several video-games and I think they came from the Parodius series so there might be lore in those or in the instruction booklets.

I gotta be honest, the lore that Konami leans in to these days confuses me. Like Albaz and Visas, where is everyone finding the story for these cards or are we just speculating based on the art? Is there a Manga like there is for Sky Striker? I didn't even know about the World Legacy story until the master duel solo mode. It's hard for me to get into heavy lore archetypes of late because I don't know where this is all coming from or why it matters.
Visas is based on Mahayana. Albaz I believe is based on stuff William Blake wrote. They are, like the DT stuff before them, largely self contained but I guess more comprehensible in the regard that you don't have an ever looming rebirth cycle happening.

Sometimes the origin or etymology sections on the archetype page will have some info or n the case of Alba Zoa's the trivia page mentions 'The Four Zoas' which is one of Blake's books.
There's also the Master Guide books which are sadly not translated official

My fan theory is that Kuribohs are like Crabs in Yugioh lore. They show up in all parts of the game because they are just naturally re-occurring. Mostly in archetype-adjacent to protagonists and some rivals. It's like the golden ratio or the numbers in Lost - 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42.
