Branded significantly changes how it changes without Fusion and actually has a deep card pool to draw from that we want to see. Vaalmonica has like 7 cards total. You can’t hit Vaalmonica without completely killing the deck. And it’s not like the cards will never be useful again. We already saw Ritual Sanctuary looping the demise ritual spells as an advantage engine last season even when the rituals got banned

And even then, most of the spells don't do anything and the ones that do only search the other dead spells. You could ban literally everything except the scales and the scales would still be useful as one card level 4 scales. Banning the scales mean the other cards basically don't function and the Link monsters are completely unsummonable (and wouldn't do anything if they were since their effects are dependant on the scales being in play). At the absolute most, there are two things left for the cards. you can either use Selletrice to grab Invitare to summon a second Selletrice for a rank 4 - but you can't activate any monster effects for the rest of the turn and it most likely eats your normal summon. Or, you could use them as a really weak spell fodder setup with the aforementioned searchers for Sky Strikers.

Vaalmonica has other key cards that could have been hit without rippling out to destroy the entire archetype. Also, just to be clear, Vaalmonica has about 11 cards (excluding the scales) and I'm not sure how many you think are plussing into meaningful draws. Scelta is card neutral, the field spell can only grab Selletrice who can only grab another Vaalmonica card, Disarmonia can't be activated, Versare is either neutral or has a useless foolish burial effect, Invitare can only special summon Selletrice for no effect and a MASSIVE restriction... that pretty much leaves Intonare and the traps as the only moderately effective cards, none of which can plus without the Link monsters. Look, if someone manages to top again by using these cards, I'll give it to you but I don't believe it to be possible in an interesting way, sans some incredible jank like putting two Selletrice in the pendulum zones - and even then, the fact that there's no pay-off (besides a really convoluted brain control) means it would just be there to flex.

Banning seals and cards like lubellion for dragon link, Engage for sky striker engine and Fountain for Runicks is some of the worst decisions you could ever make, like Lubellion and seals are part of a lot of decks not named D-Link, Engage is the heart and soul of the Sky striker package going second (the small board breaker engine), and Fountain banned kills every Runick combo variant not only Runick stun. Tldr, i already miss season 1 and who the f is making the banlist this season bro
Fountain ban doesn't even hurt Runick Stun that much. They can still summon Hugin to protect their floodgates, but combo variants can't use Hugin to bait interaction(stun decks don't care) or play spells from the hand as interaction on opponents turn(stun doesn't care) or use the draws to find more gas or more interaction(stun does not care).
Idk how I feel about the bans. D-link was hit WAY too hard. I thought the goal was to ban a couple big bad boss cards or one card combo enablers like branded fusion and let people cook with the rest. Hitting branded fusion only was goo. I thought the idea was to not immediately kill a deck by banning a bunch of cards

Also, Gravekeeper's Supernaturalist is just a searcher for any Gravekeeper name AND Necrovalley (as well as cards that list Necrovalley iirc). Commandant + Spiritualist summon just lets you summon it. Plus, Spy acts as a searcher for Spiritualist. Recruiter can be linked off for Artemis (which triggers Recruiter, which can search Commandant or Spiritualist)

Honestly I'm just proud SetoKaiba even reached that far with Galaxy-Eyes and there were no degenerate NoSpells/NoMonsters strats in the finals. Good series. No Branded sure is sad tho, maybe I'll represent them next time.
@mastershifu-g2n well yes. Now it's literally 3 omni negates 2 draws and 4 monster negates with followup off of 1 card combos that have 12 1 card starters and even more 2 card ones. This is objectively stronger than the mo ye combo showed in the video. If it's a better deck or not i don't know, but it certainly has less bricks than the level eater deck. I honestly think ignister is a contender for t1 once the new cards come out

@mastershifu-g2n well yes. Now it's literally 3 omni negates 2 draws and 4 monster negates with followup off of 1 card combos that have 12 1 card starters and even more 2 card ones. This is objectively stronger than the mo ye combo showed in the video. If it's a better deck or not i don't know, but it certainly has less bricks than the level eater deck. I honestly think ignister is a contender for t1 once the new cards come out
