It didn't. If you follow Finn's complete story, he has already been reincarnated numerous times before his "Finn Mertens" self. And Jake Dog has been too (he was Shoko's companion tiger before). It was theorized that the cat-person and princess dog in Adventure Time finale are Finn and Jake's reincarnations. So the fun never ends. Also the ending placards of AT are also Finn and Jake's past lives, the butterfly and the bee.
I belive finn suicide because he doesn't know how he dead. And the stage of eternity finn sign in is accually the place where people suicide goes. That's why we ain't giving a hint about the stage finn sign in.
