I have killed my share of spider plants. I now have 5 different kinds and they are doing well in self watering hanging planters . I have had these for about a year and so far they are well and one of them now has pups. We will see if they are still alive at the end of summer lol
I like this idea; following up after a couple years. Some plants thrive, some plants...don't. I'm sure everyone has been there. I've heard that Spider plants don't like Chlorine. Chlorine will evaporate(?) if you leave water out for at least 24 hours. I have 3- one gallon jugs I leave open a few days before watering, and I don't see brown tips on my Spiders any more!

Yeah, my mum always a bunch of different spider plants lying around. They look so cool with all the pups hanging off of them though!

I always let my water sit out, but once or twice I’d forget and just go ahead and the old spider plant HATED that. lol.
