I wrote the NCLEX-RN on 5th December 2024. My test was over after I had answered the 85th questions. I was nervous, but I had hope. Thankfully, the only thing that kept reverberating in my mind on the test day was "common sense," as Dr. Sharon would say. I checked my result on 10th Dec 2024, and it was a PASS. The NCLEX questions are very vague, but COMMON SENSE TRIUMPHED. Thank you, Dr. Sharon.

    Hi Dr. Sharon,
I want to start off by saying thank you for what you do! I am on my 64th video of yours and plan to watch them all before my nclex later this month. You have made me feel much more confident for my exam!
I did have a question regarding number 3. I was taught to do CBC before administering antibiotics as the antibiotics may alter the results of the CBC if given beforehand. Also because the CBC determines the type of infection which is then used to determine which antibiotic is given. Was told broad spectrum can be given before the specific antibiotic is determined but not before CBC so the results are not altered. Because of this I am confused why we would administer abx first for 3 and would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks again!

In question #3, I like the way you stated that we treat from Objective, Safety, Subjective and Psych. The goal was to treat the Objective first due to the 2 findings… is there a video where you explain the steps in detail when navigating through these type of questions?

Did you say we treat objective over subjective? For the question about the 9/10 pain, and purulent drainage

Hi doc Sharon.. Is Breathing rapidly means mother is hyperventilating? Is that normal in labor stage that should not prioritize? Just asking.. Thanks

Breathing rapidly is tachypnea. it is a risk for hyperventilation, but hyperventilation specifically means blowing off too much CO2
