Really helpful, even after using this program for 20 years!

I didn't know about the backslash key to change a note to its enharmonic equivilent. I have always use 9.
Thanks for info. I love watching videos like this. There is always something new to learn.

Thanks. If I had known some of these years ago, they would have saved me many hours. Switching layers has always been a pain as has breaking beams.

thank you very much for the video! im currently composing with Finale Notepad on Mac and would really love some playback shortcuts in addition to the ones I previously mentioned in the comments, thank you so much for your dedication to sharing your knowledge!! honestly, I'd also like to learn how to share my desktop to make educational videos too! thanks again!

Thank you! (And, as an added bonus: I learned where my backslash key was!)

Thanks for your video, your shortcut to switch between different layers doesn’t seem to work. Are you using a numeric keyboard? When I press shift, alt and one of the numbers all I get are the corresponding rests to those specific numbers. Thank you

thanks for the great tips! btw is there any way that i can create the multimeasure rests throughout every parts?(I noticed that your parts were already created in multimeasure rests) I just wanna create multimeasure rest easily instead of doing one by one. Thank you!

Also, it would be awesome to have a shortcut that can lower or raise a selection by an octave.

There is one: highlight a note and do Shift + Up Arrow. Thanks for the feedback, if you want to submit a feature request you can go to makemusic.com and file it. We get to these cases on a daily basis.

Select the region and then ctrl+9 transposes up an octave; ctrl+8 transposes down an octave.

I would love a shortcut between the lasso tool and the simple entry tool

There is a way to make changing from tool to another tool happen. It's with a combination of keys. I've made a tutorial on how to do it, but it is in Spanish. If you watch my video, you'll get the keys I'm pressing and you could do this easily on your version of Finale. At least I know it works on the most recent version (Finale v25).

point out which measure you are talking about, and speak slower, we are not in your head.
