Every time I think Sides is getting better, she proves me wrong. She has no idea when to call times outs. She draw up plays for the wrong people at the wrong time. Yesterday she actually squeezed a little self-reflection in there in between calling out the players on defense. I don't know enough about the Xs and Os of BBall. But some of the plays just seem not to make sense and the way some of the substitutions seem to play out on the court, just don't make any sense. If the players who are out there ain't getting it done, then why didn't the Fever give someone like Celeste Taylor a shot for some time? Shrug.
I really want to get excited and be able to support her when I see the locker room after wins. But I have to remember what I saw during the first half of last season on my favorite NFL team, when a win would occur. That coach's mentality was also, "trust the program", even though it didn't work the season before and wasn't working last season. A crappy loss is what got him fired, midway through. But the owner of that team cared about the product on the field, the fans and the revenue.

The last play was designed for CC. The thinking was that Clark would be open in the far corner, Samuelson passes to her - 3 point shot. What happened was the defense was not that dumb and you can see that Samuelson quickly realized that the play was a bust and Mitchell was the only available and downhill from there.

She needs to go along with the rest of her staff. CC should at least touch the ball at the end of the game. You need to look back a little farther back in the game to about 120 left. Mitchell waves to CC to set screen instead of giving ball to her and maybe might get ball back. CC is the play maker

I heard the play at the end was for Caitlin to go back door, but it was poorly designed. Regardless, they had 16 sec left and of course Mitchell wants to play hero ball. She always defer to "young team, more time to develop, need to watch film, etc." Same old $hit.
After a Boston Celtics coach draws up a play to someone other than Larry Bird. Larry tells the in bounder "Give the ball to me." I think its time for Catlin to grow a pair. What is Sides gong to do. Mitchell and Boston are Christie Sides favorite players and she wants those two to shine in victory games. They were Christie's favorites before Catlain Clark was drafted and arrived on the Fever team. To qualify for the playoffs, you can finish no lower than 8th place in the standings.
I really think Sides would have rather had Brink or even AR. They would have fit her preferred system better.

The last play was designed for CC. The thinking was that Clark would be open in the far corner, Samuelson passes to her - 3 point shot. What happened was the defense was not that dumb and you can see that Samuelson quickly realized that the play was a bust and Mitchell was the only available and downhill from there.
