i also hear some faint music that isnt the music in the performance, in the background. not sure what that is 😭because it’s in the background of every where i’ve seen this performance
Fabulous. Just saw it on an arts channel on cable and was frustrated to see it only once. Took a chance to see it on You Tube and there it was! Wonderful tenor, dancing, theme. Not weird but extremely interesting. More imaginative that I would have imagined staging could be in 1929. Thank you for posting.
When this dance routine was pitched to the studios, it must have had the same response as when they pitched Hogans Heros years later. VERY weird! I do see stuff that Sigmund Frieud would have a field day with.
This has a high degree of sexual charge to it, in my view. I love this dreamy sequence. It's so weird, and to look back at it now is like looking at some strange parallel universe. Thanks!
if these two hadn't already had a lot of experience as professional acrobatic dancers, I would suspect that doubles were used for this scene. It would have been easier for the female dancer because she's wearing a partial mask that obscures her face; her voice at 5:00 is clearly dubbed: "Don't be silly; nobody in the show knows about it!"
Caught in the Web of Love number..outstanding..2024 movies have alot to learn! 👍
I'm amused by the loud, clearly audible thump when he lands on the floor at 2:30, having jumped from the spider web.

I saw this movie the first time I tried 2c-b, it came on PBS. Totally freaked me out.

Amazing lifts you don't see today...
Fantastic, I just saw it on TV and had to find and watch again.
Thank's....! I finally decided to post this clip along with "I'm In Love You" in response to the wonderful "High Hatters" versions you posted...!
Top that, 2023! 😉
Singers are Donald Douglas and Betty Compson : should be given credits
wow ! I must be dreaming now !
No doubt, my favorite.
The man has really good legs!

Thanks!
Don't know who "Spiderman" is but he has a good voice. This is a great video.

Oh Lard, who could be so tasteless to think this is 'beautiful' or entertaining?
