Yeah, that was a BD (Brain Dance). It's a recording of a person's experiences. All stimuli is recorded. Basically peak VR. And some illegal ones include recorded deaths. The opening was not just a video game nor was he controlling the guy, the wreath on his head allows him to view memories, similar to VR. these are known as XBD or Brain Dances. the guy in the intro was a Cyberpsycho, Cyberpsychosis is explained in the game but also slightly touched on in the anime. when a person starts to use implants or Cyberware the body's natural immunities reject it and as a result people need immunizers or drugs to supress the effects. when a person has too many implants/Cyberware its like a drug addiction however when the effects aren't managed a person will lose their mind and go into a frenzy attacking everything around them. this is when MaxTac are called(the bulletproof guys). cyber swat specifically called in to deal with major incidents. The other crew is Trauma Team. when a person is injured, if they have a Plan with trauma team then Ambulance will immediately be flagged to their location. this is one of the first things you encounter in the game. they do not deal with anything except Policy holders and generally leave most 'other' patients for the City teams to deal with. if you have any more questions please ask! i would love to talk about this universe!
Corpo, corporat means employee of megacorporation or smaller corporation. Stable job, stable high income, little to no morals , sense of entitlement and arrogance as part of the world elite and other stuff like that.
You forgot the constant backstabbing. Corpo's have to worry about people literally gunning for their positions or the people above them defending their own.
Definitely recommend Dub since the English subs are not accurate to the Japanese. Japanese dub also does their own slang while the English has its own slang - that is also more true to the Tabletop game and CDPR game.
Yeah we were surprised like they did not give a F for kids that might accidentally watch this lol but hey good on them for not holding back good 1st ep definitely going to continue this series.
I would only recommend the Japanese dud, *IF* the subtitles are correct. They literally copy engdud script to engsub and call it a day. English isn't my mother language and I'm more familiar with japanese, so I was confusing af with all those incorrect english slangs with japanese dialogues and can't understand a thing.
I never liked this anime, honestly. The first few episodes looked like a 14 year old's wet dream and the rest are just depressing. I guess I could still watch your reaction to it to see if it at least eases things up a bit, but I'd rather you finish asobi asobase first
