Just travelled from VT to Sauze d'oulx your video saved me about 3 hours of buses/trains and a far more pleasant way to travel through the mountains! I would not have considered this to be an option before watching your video ...many thanks Steve 😊

Well that is excellent to hear! One of the reasons I love sharing knowledge. Enjoy your time in VT

Great - thanks for the vid - skiing on the Maurienne over Christmas/New year and then daughter and friend are joining the Uni ski trip in VT - saw you could theoretically do this but great to see in practice - save me from a long drive round and back to Turin for my flight home :)

We are staying close to Orelle in December. I’m wanting to book snowboarding lessons in Val Thorens. They start at 9am though. How early do the gondolas run, as would need to go really early to make sure get there in time 😬 It says 1hr 40 to drive. Do you think that will be a viable option? Thanks. Michelle

Hi Michelle. I don't think that's viable. I would suggest you either book afternoon lessons or simply book your snowboarding lessons in Orelle.

Is there a cheaper pass to use this set of lifts as a pedestrian? I'm going from Turin to Val thorens, dropping in Orelle and taking these lifts sounds like a better idea (faster and maybe cheaper) than going all the way to Val thorens by bus or shuttle.

Yes, you don't need to buy a ski pass, you can just buy a 'pieton' pass.
