I know this seems so simple. However I've never had someone tell or show me how to do this so I've always just winged it and hoped I was doing it right!
I love that you put this. My mom taught me this sort of thing at 6 or 7 when she started to teach me sewing. That's not a brag, everyone has a different experience, it's just to say that it's second nature to me, to the point that it's hard to remember to teach these sorts of things sometimes. Most girls our age were not taught to sew growing up and I want more to learn. Many of my friends want to learn, but sometimes it's hard to remember we need videos like this BTW I'm no expert sewer.i only started again since childhood, it's just that I had a base of these sorts of practices coming in, but not everyone does
Quilting you don't always reverse. It depends if you can do a lock stitch or if the seam is going to be sewn over it to secure the first line of stitches
Thank you for saying it does take a little bit of time to get a hang of because I’m still struggling with it a little… the singer machine can be quite fast
Either you have a lead foot or no one taught you tortoise pace instead of rabbit running. Some modern machines also have speed buttons or dials. Janome have them.
Reverse stitching always causes issues for me, the machine starts eating the fabric or gets jammed and it drives me insane! I don’t know why it does it
@@AnitaSouthall I asked about the model and the latest I found in terms of price and capabilities is the Brother GS3700, but I want to make sure that it is suitable for leather, as they said, and that it is good for home work and small projects.
How do you make singer heavy duty to sew so much slower? I feel like whenever I use this machine, it is soooo fast...and sometimes, out of control because it is so fast!
Would you please show how to shorten the torso/ take the crotch higher for a jumpsuits ? It’s the season now for jumpsuits but I am short and I look like I wear a diaper inside with a crotch trenching almost my knees 😂 I have to idea how to take it up? I took front and back seams but it didn’t helped much I still need to take around 7 cm. I also shortened the straps 😂 but I can’t take it any higher
We use this machine at a quilt group. We have a terrible time with the thread jumping out of or tangling around the take up arm. Any idea how to stop that? It has happened as many as ten times in two hours.
This helped me so much, my fabric always ends up puckering, I tried this and surprisingly it went better than usual. I always started a reverse from the start...maybe that's why it puckered 😬
Yes! Sometimes the feed dogs can pull on your fabric prematurely and cause a little pucker at the beginning and end! Sewing a few stitches forward first helps :)
Why do you need to make a video that explain that? Everybody know it!! It's the base!! It's like... "for sewing, you need fabric, sewing machine and thread". No, really?? We call that "the discovery of the hot water" The title kind of cheat me, that's why I click it. If I knew that was a video for stu*id, I will never click it
I start sewing in reverse because I don't like the 3 times stitch on each end of my seams. This method has worked fine for me so far. :)
I had no idea that was how we were meant to do it! Thank you SO much for these videos! I am learning so much! ❤😊
Yay! I’m so glad! 🥰♥️

Following this page has been nothing but A1 help. Keep making these
Yes it is also known as a backstitch or back tack

Exactly what I needed! Thank you!

... something my Mamma taught me about 50 years ago. Served me well sewing uniforms in the Army.
I love your videos. I have the same sewing machine. Do you think you could do a breakdown of the machine?
Is that the perfect finish?
Sew it seams
thaaaaank yoouuu ❤❤❤❤❤
I just ran to my machine. There it is!!!!!😮 I was today years old...
love it so much!

Same! Idk why or how to fix
My machine won’t reverse stitch at the end anymore any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks 🐭
What is the name of the piece that holds the roll of thread in place
I need to get a Singer
What do you think of the Brother GS700 machine?
Can a Brother sewing machine sew some leather?
Go to a dealer and ask for a demonstration on the model you want. If they don't have time then go elsewhere.

Do you have any times for sewing in a straight line? I’m knew to sewing
Going to post one soon! ♥️
What is your machine model?
I don’t know if mine has a reverse
A fourth of an inch? That the same as a quarter?
Took me too long to realize this :,)

Get the discs for tension checked by a sewing machine mechanic

I paid $60 for someone to show me this. I wish I had found you sooner.
I like to start with my needle down.
❤
