There's some sort of hidden strength in her voice underneath all of the fear and anticipation that's coating it. It's truly one of the most beautiful songs I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
What's funny is if you read/watch the making-of background info on this part of the movie, she's not happy at all and wasn't intended to be. She's angry, and running away emotionally as well as literally. If she was really feeling self-confident and secure, she wouldn't be throwing away her mostly-pretty-decent past entire-life, but rather would be standing her ground *at home* instead. But she nearly (or so she thinks) killed a bunch of her citizens, and ran away. At one point, looking at her crown before throwing it, her expression is deliberately drawn quite bitter for a split-second.

When I first heard this song at 17, I didn’t really care for it and I thought it was overrated. Now I relate to this more as an adult and I know this sounds cheesy but I think of this song when I am going through something.
