We fought hard for our relationship and still fighting on every difficulties of life. If by chance she watch this movie and read my comments. I want you to know that I love you and will always love you till eternity. It's not that we chose our happiness over God. We still praise Him we still believe in HIM. And I know that in my chaotic dark world. God sent you to me,his ray of light, one of his angel to make me believe more that he is real. I will always thank the Lord for your life my love. I really like this one, doesn't get a ton of mentions for great WLW films. It was well reviewed even got a cinema release in the UK. I do think it comes down to how you feel about the ending of the film, which really splits people down the middle. It's very open ended and the directors leave it up to the audience to have their take on the ending. It is a bit downbeat seen Marike so miserable without Jaime, the make up team did a great job at making the actress playing Marike look really rundown and aged. Leaving with Jaime and losing her child and family will hurt like hell but it's better then living a life that is draining every bit of happiness from you.Lesson is go with what makes you happy and not what makes others. Tough decision for Marike, she could lose her family, safety of her small community and it's not a sure thing the relationship with Jaime will last either. But she will get to live her own life and be happy in it. And get to love who she wants. But besides the ending the two actors, June LaPorte and Anwen O'Driscoll are both very good in the lead roles. Bring a lot of chemistry and likeability to their characters. It does drag a bit anytime Marike and Jaime aren't in a scene together. I do like that it's Marike doing the chasing in the beginning to show she's into Jaime straight away (also forget Marike is cheating on her boyfriend with Jaime, only noticed it on this rewatch). To be fair, film isn't as bleak as you would think giving the subject matter. It only gets downbeat in it's last 20 minutes or so. The film is well shot and edited and it goes by without much fuss.
