    THANK YOU for actually explaining the calibration part! All the videos I found before yours, even the professional ones, just tell you how to test the accuracy of your micropipette's measurements and NOT how to fix an inaccurate one.

    THANK YOU oh my god I'm trying to calibrate some Eppendorfs and every video on 'how to calibrate your Eppendorf pipette' just looks at how to see if it's accurate, not how to actually *calibrate* it. I was stuck with a disassembled pipette & an old manual trying to figure out if maybe I just need to send it away. This is finally answered my questions!!

      Whelp, I've now read about calibration vs. adjustment, and those other videos were accurate in that they *did* provide calibration information - calibration is what happens before adjustment! But video was still super helpful regardless!

    Good video on the calibration process, although some pipettes are adjusted differently, some easier some much harder to adjust.

    It's a good explanation, although it's brand specific. That looks like a Rainin, and as we all know Eppendorfs are adjusted in a different manner. One thought though. You are in a laboratory with chemicals all around you, I see a wash bottle which probably contains a flammable solvent, and I do not see you wearing any PPE. In my lab, at a minimum when you walk in, you must have on a lab coat, safety glasses and anytime we are around around the bench, handling equipment, gloves.

    @Thermocouple61 instead of complaining, explain how he is wrong..

    That is not how eppendorf pipettes are calibrated. I would reccomend sending to a reputable service company like fisher scientific in canada. Also what is shown in demonstration is very basic when it comes to the calculations that go into a pipette cal. (I do it for a living). Every brand of pipette is different and is calibrated in a different way. If you need a certain level of certification the dont do it yourself(iso-17025)

    Channel by channel...it will take you loooong time. Send it to Mettler Toldo in your country instead! They will perform a preventive maintanance and As Returned calibration at a good price price!
    And....it is NOT a calibration tool this guy is using...he is using an ADJUSTMENT TOOL!!!!

  • @Rcaliss
    @Rcaliss 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well...the method is totally incorrect. First: He is not taking the Z-factor into the calculation! Secondly: He is not taking the evaporation into the calculation. Third: He is not doing 3x4 only 2x4 which is incorrect according to ISO8655. I have been calibrating and ADJUSTING pipettes for over 20 years. The tool is NOT called calibration tool. It's called "Adjustment Tool". I do recommend go go to mt.com to get the correct way of calibrating, servicing AND adjusting your pipettes!!!
