    That foot strap looks like a game changer. Definitely looks like it was designed by someone who actually wears foot trackers for more than 10 minutes at a time, and knows that a single strap around your foot is just horribly ineffective.

    Important if you're interested in the Tundra Trackers: They are more accurate than the competition with slow movements but they will absolutely lose tracking on quick movements unlike the vive trackers. So if you plan on using them as a tracking solution for BeatSaber, think again. They are also much easier to occlude because of their form factor so take that into account as well.

      If that is the case it sounds like part of the cost savings is using a lower end IMU on board. Not a bad thing for most people, but not shocking given how expensive good IMUs can get.

      Question. I do have full body tracking and sometimes had issues with my 2.0's. Do you think these would not be okay to replace the feet trackers I have? I dance about but I don't go as fast with my feet as with my hands.
      I currently use the trackers attached to fake crocs from Walmart via a screw. I'll use a proper waist strap soon to stop that wobble. Coming with the trackers that still haven't arrived. Do you think they're ok for feet trackers at least? I will either use my 2.0's from my feet on my chest or just keep them as spares if one dies as I already have 7. I am still waiting for mine. I was unfortunately unable to get 3 or I'd do feet and waist. I have long hair down to my bottom and I usually put the waist tracker behind me, so occasionally my hair comes loose and would have a possible occlusion issue... but I'm wondering if feet or doing waist and like 1 chest or something would be better... I just was having issues with the 2.0's before I moved. I haven't set it up yet as I'm traveling and have the whole system in my new house and am still looking for the camera/sensor for the vive wireless adapter as I can't go back to wired... but it also means I haven't tested it out in my new house to see if the issue was just related to that location or if it's the trackers. I was getting drift sometimes when getting too close to the walls. I was thinking either socket/outlet/electrical interference or occlusion.
      I have been trying to buy a 4th lighthouse for over a year...but valve's stock has been awful, so I couldnt test that theory. I've switched the feet with trackers that weren't drifting and had the same drifting with the feet as before...so not faulty trackers either.
      What are your thoughts on using it for feet tracking for if you dance about? I'm not the best dancer, but it's fun to dance about when making videos, but it sucks redoing the whole thing when you see your foot flying in the air or sticking out sideways while the rest of your body cooperates because of drift. Still waiting for mine to arrive so I just wanted your thoughts on the trackers since you have them. I got the 7 in 1 dongle so I don't use up as many USB slots. Yay!

    • @mrsearaphim4077
      @mrsearaphim4077 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AliciaBrownSugar At that point it's just trial and error. There are just too many variables into play to pinpoint exactly what's wrong. Could be any combination of different sub-optimal circumstances. I have 4 lighthouses/basestations and generally if I have tracking issues it has more to do with reflective surfaces so I make sure to take care of that first. Another thing that's caused me issues is poor Bluetooth signal/interference so I don't use 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi (which is on the same bandwidth) and make sure the Vive tracker receivers are well positioned (away from eachother, high enough, not behind objects, etc..). Then there's USB bandwidth. (that's a lot more complicated so I won't really go into that)
      I've received good feedback so far from dancers using the tundra trackers and when they work correctly (some people have big problems with them and there's almost no support from the company I heard), they work better than the vive trackers for dancing. I suspect the Super Dongle has a big role to play in that.

    As someone who has had these since November, I have to agree with this video. While I have my foot trackers stuck to shoes instead of a strap, i love how light they are and how amazing the tracking is. I do wish now I could buy the screw on accessory for the waist, but with time that will come. Awesome video Phia!

    • @AliciaBrownSugar
      @AliciaBrownSugar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was a few hours too late for the early bird. So I'm still waiting for mine. As a current user, if you only had 2 of these, would you put them on your feet, or are the vive trackers better for that? I do have enough vive trackers for full body tracking and use them for that, but since this had the 7 in 1 dongles I decided to get it. I was unfortunately only able to get 2 because that was the max it would let me buy... (unless maybe I made a 2nd kickstarter account I guess...as they did have more... but I digress.) Would you say these are better foot trackers than the vive 2.0's? I didnt get the 3.0's. Right now I use the vive trackers attached to fake Walmart crocs via the screw so they stay in place. I haven't put it back together since my move, but before I moved, I was having interference possibly with the wall outlets. They'd start to drift randomly and only my feet when I got close to outlets. As I do dance when I do FBT, and my feet move a bit, I'm wondering if these would be ok for my feet or not. I was thinking of either using the extra 2.0's I'll have for chest or a backup for the knee or elbows or something, but seeing a comment about reliability has me wanting to make sure it is good.

      Idk if you actually read my comment or not, but yes I have FBT with the Tundra Trackers. They are great and more reliable in my personal opinion. I have them laced through shoes laces on my feet because I try to dance in VR. I’ve had no issues with movement or tracking in my space.

    I happened to get two Vive 3.0 trackers via auction for less than the price of one, so I'm not SUPER hyped to get a set of tundra trackers, but I'm told five point tracking is good stuff. If I could buy one tundra tracker and a wireless super DONGle, I'd be down to do that though. Having one USB port per tracker in use is just... ugh. My ancient bluetooth 2.0 dongle can handle pairing half a dozen devices. Who thought tying the Vive trackers 1:1 with a dongle was a good idea?

    good note for anyone watching this later. She did mention this but it's very important. The tundra set with straps and everything is a little differently priced and still very much affordable in comparison to vive trackers but keep in mind you will have to get the base stations for the tundra trackers ranging around the 100$-150$ range. You're looking at a 700-800$ purchase not 300$. 1 base station will work but you won't get the full effect/immersion if you turn around and it loses your hip, so two will be the "go to". Thanks for reading have a nice day

      @@obby5648 Well, we were due to get them last month, but the freight slot was lost due to covid, chinese new year and some other factors. Hopefully the UK shipment (if you're on the same boat as me) as since gotten a new slot and is finally on the way, and will probably be another week or two, but is what it is really.
      Pledge doesn't matter - remaining shipments are mixed, and so cover x3 upto x7, early birds and normals, and so it's not all relevent.
      As for those not getting correspondence, I also know a lot of the EU and NA have gotten theirs. Support system has indeed been a bit shite, but they haven't stopped working either. Just gotta hold tight - kickstarters often go through shit like this, and Tundra was never gonna be an exception.

    • @Mom19
      @Mom19 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah totally agree with you, I haven't tried tundras since they are somehow constantly unavailable to purchase and also pretty expensive at 440-480€ for 3 trackers without ANY straps. I can simply just buy 3 Vive 3.0 Trackers for that much money, and they are much more available. If you find a good deal, you actually can have them for under 400€.
      And the thing is: Tundras might be potentially more comfortable to wear, but they loose tracking or aren't as accurate as Vive trackers with fast movements. They are more accurate than Vive with slow movements from what I've heard and seen, but honestly if you want to get FBT you also want to be able to go fast, at least sometimes.
      The battery life is nice, but also in all seriousness, spending more than 7 hours in VR is pretty taxing on you. Especially since your controllers probably don't last as long, I would recommend to do a 6 hour session at max, then go eat for an hour, relax a bit and charge your gear. When you come back, everything is ready for another 6 or 7 hours. If you really want to spend 12-14 hours a day in VR that is. If you even have so much time tho.
      For where I live, they are unavailable, more expensive than Vive Trackers and too inaccurate with fast movements. The battery life doesn't bother me much and so, they're not considerable for me. Sadly. More competition is good, but for me they don't bring anything to the table that makes them competitive enough :/

    I'm sure most people know already but just in case. they don't work stand alone and can be more expensive requiring the base stations. any full body tracking will most likely cost nearly if not $1000, or more. not an issues if people already have them but a vast majority of users are quest and will not have the base stations. the htc stations (as of writing this) are 190, the newer ones like for the index are over 200. (including tax) 360 for the bundle of 3 trackers and the dongle is already reaching high prices looking at 800 if your lucky to find them priced low.
    rant over. to sum up. not stand alone. requires bas stations.

    but dont buy more than 3..bad for investment
    have fun with 3...if u love it!
    u will want to upgrade and go ALL OUT LIKE ME...by preordering 7 tundra after...*might sell my vive trackers... but i will keep one for my collection for sure..xD

    Hey Phia do you mind reviewing "Next Mind's" kickstarter mind control product? I saw The Virtual Reality Oasis review it but it seems very next level with what it can do. Essentially you can trigger inputs with your mind aka neural brain waves without controllers.
