Trumpeter Swans with EIGHT Cygnets

Last week we saw a family of Trumpeter Swans in Metzger Marsh. They were quite far away and in a patch of reeds, so we didn't stop to look any closer. Today they were right up by the road, and I was able to count all the Cygnets, finding out they had eight! Trumpeter Swans can lay between 4 and 9 eggs but typically between 4 and 6, so this was a great find!
