They could make the 120 kill streak explosion on kills with x5 curses. Could be quite fun to have an extra functionality. Or make the gun randomly gain buffs like more damage, higher fire rate, better reload speed or decreased recoil, etc. Just an idea. Also thanks for the highlight Llama!!
I’ve been using bad juju for like the past month in one of my onslaught builds. It’s the same idea of using facet of grace but I pair it with an inmost/cyrterachne hunter class item and silence and squall super. It’s just constant ability spam, super spam, transcendence spam, and pretty much 100% uptime on woven mail. The big thing to note is that you want to use transcendence before your super because super kills with grace give you increased transcendence energy.
In all honesty as someone whos been buildcrafting around suepr generation, that would be a fire update ngl. Also would love if it has kinetic tremor XD
Not gonna complain too much, but this is like the 5th video I’ve seen of people hyping up Bad JuJu. I’ve used this since D1, and have kept this in my inventory since it came out, and I REGULARLY use it. I’m finally glad people are seeing that it’s good, but confused it’s taking people so long to figure that out!
I never understood why people think this weapon is bad. I always hear the same argument, that other weapons could get you super generated or abilities do it better. But having a weapon that gives you INSANE amounts of super quite quickly, while from a distance if need be, reloads itself, and gains damage as you go. I used it for Goldy Spam for GM's and aside from boss rooms that had lack of ads, it was basically free goldies for every champion and high tier enemy. I could almost use a golden gun like an ad clear super at some points.
Because it was legitimately bad before it was fixed, and even after that, its damage is low for a pulse rifle, so before pulse in general were buffed you had difficulty getting the first two kills going to start stacking damage.
@@rezmeplz Honestly while splash is nice there are plenty of circumstances I can think of where the explosions from either of those exotics either didn't kill enemies or just flat out didn't hit anything due to enemies moving and spreading out. Just because it lacks splash does not make it a bad weapon.
It gives you "INSANE" super energy when fighting low tier trash mobs. It doesn't have range. The gun will not reliably reload itself in tougher content, especially not in a group setting since teammates will be taking your kills. The damage from the perk also isn't anything special.
Biggest issue for it was it having bugged recoil that made it virtually impossible to use with its absurdly low damage for a pulse. Since that was fixed, and pulse in general have had damage buffed, it can actually do some work and get the first two kills to actually be worth something.
Not sure what they can do to buff per say but a lot of the exoticness of the gun is very outdated by today's sandbox standards. Full auto isn't exotic anymore, the catalyst gives you 1 second extra duration which most definitly does not feel worthy of a catalyst since that's just rampage spec and even that doesn't exist anymore. making it craftable and giving you a few choices to go for instead of hip fire grip but also not removing hip fire grip for the enjoyers out there would be the way to go for this gun. Not every exotic needs to be craftable but this one feels like it should be. There's a lot of ad clear weapons out there now that can do some serious work at the level in which Bad Juju operates. Maybe not with the same damage but in a world of incandescend and volt shot guns dominating the PvE landscape, I don't think more damage or a Kinetic Tremors is the way to go. Maybe make the hidden explosion effect a proper ability. Lean in hard into the ad clear monster that it could be? Firefly perhaps could be cool? Really curious what they'll do with it.
I'm not sure, but maybe rapid precision hits corrupt targets, and when they die, they violently erupt and scatter living cursed flames that move along surfaces and trap enemies in hive-like traps that burn them for a short time. Killing trapped enemies would spread poison if necrotic grips were equipped. Note: enemies in traps would be immobile but still able to attack.
They need to get rid of hip fire grip and actually give it something useful. Kinetic tremors would quickly bring this weapon in line with other weapons IMO.
Kinetic tremors on bad juju... that would be cool but probably "too op" due to super gains from the area kills. I'm expecting something simple like a range bump or something.

Instead of him cutting down all the red bars, then the hydra, one after another. with kinetic tremors, he would only shoot the hydra and kill everything in 3 bursts. I would love it, truly, but I'm telling you, bungie would consider that super gain from all those instant kills too fast... but hey, I'd happily be wrong on this one.
I doubt kinetic tremors would actually be useful on it. It's main gimmick is to slay trash ads, you shouldn't be using it on anything tankier than that in higher level content.
@marceletta I don't think juju is an "end game" weapon. Can you use it? Sure. Is there better option? Absolutely. Gravaton hits 63xx and juju hits for 54xx per burst to start. I know juju after 5 kills will be doing literally double that for 4.5sec but gravatons purple magic explosions can hit for 37,xxx (when an enemy explodes, not the little purple tracker magic missile though those do work too) and gravaton is good for easy/mid game and becomes difficult to use by end game imo. Its not bad, just can do better.
I'm hoping for the buff, Bungie just adds its super explosion to its catalyst. I don't exactly know why it does it and why you need 146 consecutive kills to get it to work, but I think adding the explosions when at x5 string of curses, with larger explosions when your super is charge, is a fantastic buff
I reckon they might consolidate the String of Curses stacks down to just 3 for maximum effect rather than the current 5, makes it easier to ramp up. Can certainly see them weaving Transcendance into it as well but I've never really found it necessary to go super into Transcendance regeneration since it doesn't take long at all with the right fragments
I could see a buff being changing string of curses to build gradually on damage dealt, instead of needing to get a kill to increase it by one. I think people initially thought it was weak because it took some time to get the string of curses started when you don't build into it- since the 38% dmg buff to pulses, that's not really the case, but it's still less flashy than something like graviton or outbreak so it stayed slept on

That's what I thought when they mentioned buffing it. It's really hard to keep String of Curses up in the current meta, especially in hard content. You have to consciously stop using your abilities and only get kills with your weapon, not to mention group play when others are also getting final blows

I would really like if they make the explosion of bad juju easily available. Like every 5 kills without reloading (low kill count requirement cause it won't make sense if you prock it with the last enemy available, plus same kills for max string), and then a 3 sec cooldown so that you can't spam it too much.
i can see them making it generate super energy on hit, but not quite as much as a kill, as well as making string of curses stack on hits instead. another route they could take is making the explosions from 120 kills trigger on every kill that you have string of curses procced, increasing in damage and radius depending on how many stacks of strings you have. also i see everyone in the comments saying giving it kinetic tremors would be nice, and while i agree, it would make the gun too much of a one size fits all. we already have a lot of those and i think making the gun really fit into one niche would be better.
I just made a variant of this using Chromatic Fire instead with Nova. Precision kills make explosions and weaken everything, get Nova's very quickly for lots of damage. I am also running double kinetic surge + the intellect helmet mod
Dude making bad juju a weapon of sorrow is actually a banger of an idea, hope that's what they do cuz I'm a hunter main but I'd switch to necro warlock for that
I've tried using Bad JuJu and yes it does perform pretty decent as an exotic. But if you are looking for faster supers it's ideally better using exotic class item with harmony or the exotic itself. I personally use the solar rocket side arm with song of flame and it boosts super energy just as fast (typically better in GM content as the weapon does more damage). It means you get the same effect while using a more effective GM exotic (I suggest outbreak for high transcendence generation) a build like this makes looping between super and transcendent really easy
Yeah juju with any 50%super returned effect is the play with it. When we still hand Sprint topping off Chaos Reach with Geomags, 3-4 supers a minute depending on add density
It's rlly good on titan with the Star Eaters mark b/c w the kinetic fragment that gives you more transcendence energy for kills, you basically have a gun that gives you transcendence and your super (and works to buff it w orb pickup) VERY fast.
If they make the juju a weapon of sorrow I’ll pee myself tbh cause I’ve recently tried necros with weapons of sorrow and I’ve had a ton of fun running it and the juju was one of my favorites in D1 so I wouldn’t let it go
My thoughts on the buff for Bad Juju would be allowing it to have an agers scepter kind of interaction and also giving it a string of curses charge bar. I.e. once you have super full and string of curses built up, press reload and gain the ability to cause explosions on x crit hits and final blows. Drains super but super gives it increased boost to string of curses buff.
ex diris convinced me they make these weapons with a spreadsheet and don't actually playtest them. That gun felt terrible on release. Hit and traveled like a wet macaroni noodle
Juju was my first ever exotic. It will always hold a special place for me. The state it's in now is the best it's been. Massively slept on in PvP. Amazing for sixes & soon, eights
another thing.. after chaining so many kills, you can set off a explotion. What they could do is reduce the amount of chained kills needed ( kills without a manual reload) for the explotion
When celestial got the precision kill super regen buff I used this with it to almost constantly have my super, was great fun in the coil to just delete every yellow health
Being a bit of a lore nut, I kinda DONT want Bad Juju to become a weapon of sorrow but to see it lean more into its Hive-Toland-Ascendant Plane origins and give it something more unique. Kinda tossing the thought of ramping of String of Curses gives it a taken version Dragonfly with a damage over time that can extend String of Curses. But please get rid of hip fire and full auto.
What needs to happen is they need to remove the “fires full auto” portion of the gun, replace that with a shortened version of the description of hip fire grip, and then instead of hip fire grip we get a new exclusive perk to bad juju that either builds into the 120 kill explosion, or building into transcendence
I'd love for it to get a souped up version of Kinetic Tremors for it's catalyst. So that it has a little more intrinsic AoE but also can take out heftier dudes

Never could see why people wouldn’t want a 100% increase in damage with mag refill and super energy. It carried me to easy wave 50s in Onslaught with Orpheus.
!!!!! Is there anything contributing to your super gains on hit with this gun or your loadout? You gain so much super from ONLY SHOOTING the hydra, kills not required.

Hmmm... it has been a long time since I used bad juju. Orpheus rig might work good with it. I wonder if the multi kills from teather would auto stack the kills for bad juju? Wouldn't it be cool if they gave it kenetic tremors lol. You didn't mention the 136 kill streak for bad juju. I think its 136 straight kills causes an exploding thrall explosion. Kinda cool but pretty rare.
Specking into intellect with an exotic that just grants super energy feels like a waste. Intellect is just such a bad stat that even on super-spamming builds it’s not worth building into
idk I personally just don't see the appeal lol. I don't find supers so much stronger than our current ability spam especially given Prismatic to warrant building into and especially not using my exotic slot for it, as fun as I'm sure plenty might find that. it also has no splash as an exotic primary and i find that pretty important. it's also in the same slot as Outbreak and Khvostov 😭
Well if we're being really technical, 2 Dealer's Choice weapons is 1.6% per kill, and at 5x stacks of String of Curses it's 2% per kill, but yeah given that 3x Dealer's Choice is 3%, it's totally unfair haha
I thought of this gun when I was watching your 30 Second Super video... and then instantly dismissed the idea. I'm not sure what it is about this gun that's always put me off it. Maybe it's the aesthetic? It's such an ugly duck of a weapon. Or maybe it's the fact that the original quest to get it was a pain in the arse or something? (it's been so long I barely remember). Maybe I'll give it another go

Bad juju is my favorite weapon since destiny 1 I love the look and the lore of this gun it's not the best in game but it is the best for me

What if it was a slight dps nerf BUT string of curses only disappears on weapon stow?

The model reminds me of the Crota weapons. If they gave us cursed thrall origin trait the gun could be insane
If not a weapon of sorrow they could make it give bonus transcendence energy with each stack of string of curses like it does with super energy

Pale Heart weapons would still be more suitable for that, since without any setup (assuming you have 3) each kill gives 3% and for Bad Juju it's 2% at 5 stacks of String of Curses

weapon of sorrow would skyrocket this thing to s tier, just a better nechrocasm with way higher dmg range no reloads at all and massive super generation. i wouldnt be against it at all it deserves to be meta again
Never could see why people wouldn’t want a 100% increase in damage with mag refill and super energy. It carried me to easy wave 50s in Onslaught with Orpheus.
I haven't used in a long time. Really like dragons breath with Orpheus. Does teather kills count toward juju kills for its damage boost?
Bad juju stasis hunter with renewal grasp and whisper of rending seems like a good mixture.
If Chromatic Fire was better, that would be really fun to use with Bad Juju or really any of the other kinetic spam options as well

!!!!! Is there anything contributing to your super gains on hit with this gun or your loadout? You gain so much super from ONLY SHOOTING the hydra, kills not required.
From what I remember, primary super Regen scales with damage, so a 100% damage increase probably doubles super gain
Exotic Primaries have intrinsic increased super gain from dealing damage
If the buff is Extended Mag, I wouldn't complain

I find chromatic fire to work great with kinetic weapons like bad juju and outbreak

As for a buff, I'd be ok if they just combined Adrenaline Junkie+Swash in that you can get 5 stacks with either a melee or nade kill.

Hmmm... it has been a long time since I used bad juju. Orpheus rig might work good with it. I wonder if the multi kills from teather would auto stack the kills for bad juju? Wouldn't it be cool if they gave it kenetic tremors lol. You didn't mention the 136 kill streak for bad juju. I think its 136 straight kills causes an exploding thrall explosion. Kinda cool but pretty rare.

idk I personally just don't see the appeal lol. I don't find supers so much stronger than our current ability spam especially given Prismatic to warrant building into and especially not using my exotic slot for it, as fun as I'm sure plenty might find that. it also has no splash as an exotic primary and i find that pretty important. it's also in the same slot as Outbreak and Khvostov 😭

The fact that using two weapons with Dealers Choice is stronger than an exotics super bonus is absolutely pathetic.
Well if we're being really technical, 2 Dealer's Choice weapons is 1.6% per kill, and at 5x stacks of String of Curses it's 2% per kill, but yeah given that 3x Dealer's Choice is 3%, it's totally unfair haha

I thought of this gun when I was watching your 30 Second Super video... and then instantly dismissed the idea. I'm not sure what it is about this gun that's always put me off it. Maybe it's the aesthetic? It's such an ugly duck of a weapon. Or maybe it's the fact that the original quest to get it was a pain in the arse or something? (it's been so long I barely remember). Maybe I'll give it another go

Underrated? Nah it's rated properly. Tickles enemies outside of patrol which is why it's gettin a buff soon.

@lucasc5651 not a warlock main but if memory serves, that's how the exotic works. Solar super should give scorch, arc is blind, void is weaken, etc...
