- In the men’s competition, it’s Jayson Yao, a banker from Miami, Florida against, Vince Granger, an information specialist from Silver Spring, Maryland. In the women’s round, it’s Cherrise Traylor, a physical therapist from Houston, Texas vs, Katy Ramsey, a sales clerk from Davis, California.

Powerball: Contenders try to score points by depositing balls into baskets and avoid being tackled by three Gladiators.
Breakthrough & Conquer: The contender must face two Gladiators in this two-part event. First, they need to score a touchdown against the first Gladiator. Then the contender must wrestle the second Gladiator, forcing them to step outside of a ring.
Hang Tough: The Gladiator and contender swing across hanging gymnastics rings, with the contender trying to make it to the opposite platform without the Gladiator forcing them off.
The Wall: The contenders attempt to scale a rock climbing wall, being chased by Gladiators.
The Maze: The contenders have 45 seconds to navigate their way through a maze, but four Gladiators are inside and ready to stop them.
Joust: The Gladiator and contender face off for 30 seconds on elevated platforms. They must knock each other off with pugil sticks.
Human Cannonball: Two Gladiators stand on pedestals, and the contenders attempt to swing towards them and knock them off.
The Eliminator: The Eliminator is an obstacle course spanning the arena, the winner of which advances to the next round of the competition.

Welcome to the official channel of American Gladiators, home of patriotic spandex and giant cotton swabs.
Beginning in 1989 for 8 seasons, this competition swept America. Two men and two women compete against each other and a roster of "American Gladiators". Events included, The Assault, Joust, The Wall, Breakthrough and Conquer, Hang Tough, Powerball, and many others, all culminating in the final event, "The Eliminator", a difficult obstacle course race. Every season there is a tournament to determine its "Grand Champion". For two seasons, there was an "International" competition taped in England where the champions from 4-6 countries competed similarly.

My dad was on the show in 91, he's the contestant that took a tennis ball to the nuts in Assault. Then on the Eliminator, he slipped on the cargo net, got his legs caught and his tights ripped off... He was hanging there upside down with his swollen Frank and Beans dangling for everybody to see. Bare Assed.

Katy Ramsey was fortunate to get the points in Hang Tough. Also, Katy Ramsey was fantastic in the Breakthrough Portion of Breakthrough and Conquer, and the Women's Eliminator.

Well I know in Australian Gladiators ANY ATTACKING OF THE HEAD INCLUDING HEAD-LOCKS Result In Immediate Disqualification
It almost makes me think the UK have been more laxed on the rules compared to Australian & America
It’s not as bad as when Nitro grabbed a jersey for leverage and also gave a headlock to competitor that caused a disqualification.

I agree with Larry Czonka that the joust is not just about defense. You got to show some offense to try getting the possible 10 points. Storm had a right to talk to the referee about the situation. In my words of Larry Czonka in this episode, "That joust was horsefeathers!"
Warning- The gladiators and contestants are highly trained athletes and have a lifetime of experience, but they are not invincible. Bodies have been broken, necks broken, concussions inflicted, lives shattered, and careers ended in an instant. Although it is entertainment, the hazards are real, and the contestants and gladiators take real risks, endure unimaginable pain, and put their bodies, their careers, and their lives on the line.

Viper was by far the worst Gladiator...losing all the time
What about Malibu lol. He ALWAYS lost and almost got killed in the human cannonball. However he was such a character I kinda loved him lol
I seem to recall Viper having kind of a negative attitude as well. He wasn’t very good and he seemed like a humorless jerk on top of it. The total opposite of Tower who always congratulated the winner, shooks hands, etc., and was completely genuine about it. I remember having a crush on Viper because I thought he was cute but always feeling bummed that he seemed like such a poor sport.
@@daughterofolaf I think Viper was trying to be the bad boy like Nitro but couldn't pull it off. Also was nowhere near as good of a Gladiator

Viper may have been the worst male gladiator. Him and Malibu

@@Hawqis1 No, you’re eyes aren’t playing tricks on ya. The “production team” thought the Contenders needed help on the Joust, when in reality, they were Hindering the Gladiators, and ultimately, it was one of the reasons why this season SUCKED.
