this is so pure seeing you "messing up" and readjust in a split second and improvising and keeping the vibe going!! now we need a full producer vlog like "how i made"
I hope we can complete tracklist in this vlog together :) 2:35 DJ Snake & Mercer - Let's Get Ill (David Puentez Remix) 3:20 ID - ID 5:10 Laidback Luke - Party Starter 7:12 Laidback Luke - Fckin Beats w/ Steff Da Campo - Gin & Vodka 7:59 w/ Steve Aoki - Boneless 8:59 Tiesto - Jackie Chan (Lbl remix) 11:45 Steve Angello & Lbl - Show Me Love 12:13 Jimmy Clash - Swindle 13:14 Major Lazer - Que Calor (Moska Remix) 14:40 Rune RK - Calabria vs. Work (Tribal Bootleg)
This is getting your money's worth when paying to see a DJ. It's not just about knowing how to mix, but reading the crowd and acting accordingly. That last part about keeping the party vibes, good call! Thank you for the annotations, it's interesting to read why you're doing what you're doing.
@Jesús P. Meza Yeah no doubt he is a master at what he does but believe it or not that style is not for everyone. Some dj's actually wanna play songs and people would like to dance to their favorite records played out to a logical mix point and not a long mashup.
Wow some crazy techniques in this vid that Ive never even thought of before. 1) Slam mixxing into a double drop. Never thought of mixxing into a double drop 2) The color hot cues look so freaking useful cause you just gotta remember what each colors means and you can jump quickly to any part of the song 3) Using a hot cue as a transition. Who cares if you started beatmatching late you can just hit the cue point at the transition. 4) Extending drops with hot cues. Thats honestly genius cause sometimes drops just arent long enough. 5) 6:13 sammy looks like a G standing there behind you lol 6) The search and slide to load seems like a great function for staying in the mix Love these mix videos I would honestly die to see a full hour or two hour set with every transitions described!
You can't compare James Hype to this DJ sorry , there is no sync here your seeing DJ apply his craft un scripted and going with the vibe he's on I've not seen James hype mix on nexus players without features helping him , Luke's up there with the best mixing djs like DJ EZ, Andy C etc
@@zaaajac yes but that doesn't make him as good laidback luke you can probably use all the features and be amazing , but it takes talent and ability to achieve what Luke does real time as DJ understanding the pitch by ear etc
Hey, Luke! I just wanted to let you know how much of an inspiration you are to me as an aspiring DJ. I love your "In My Mind" vlogs and how each one has it's own sound and style. It's like you are actually putting emotion into the mix, :P. I have a long way to go! But for now I will be content with annoying my local Guitar Center employees out of their minds with my habit of loitering at the decks for and hour then leaving because I don't have decks of my own. :D EDIT: I always enjoy the demo videos. But that's my opinion. :)
My varsity jacket and hoodie arrived today. Class new merch. Skillfully mixed as always... but luke. Blue lights are for ambulances dude 😉 keep that mixer from peaking out _||_
Its amazing to get virtual reality experience! I have one question @Laidback Luke Do you bring your own console to all your shows, or do the organisers arrange them?
DJs and aspiring DJs.... you can learn a lot from this video if you pay attention to how he is keeping the audio in check, watching the crowd, and using the effects (though a little too touchy with them for my liking but what do I know, I am no Laidback Luke) to balance and hype transitions.
Finally another In my mind Vlog! but could you please use a more professional recording device than the camera mic to record the sound? because the sound quality isn't that good though
Sometimes when I am mixing in a song that is Beatmatched, and the out going song has an effect like echo or reverb, my beatmatching goes off a little, I quickly turn down the effect and have to re-Beatmatch the songs, it's very quick, but has this ever happened to you?
Quick question Luke, When we are playing two tracks at a time, should we cut the bass of one track or just keep the bass knob at 12 for both the tracks.
Abhy Bhuria I’d say as a general rule only keep the bass of one track at all times as bass frequencies clash really easily. But it can also be up to interpretation, if it’s the break of a song and there isn’t much bass information it may work to keep both up depending on the situation.
@@michaelsmith3532 Thanks a lot Michael. I only keep both the bass up when I am playing in key. But I try to keep only one bass up at a time. Thank You for sharing the information.
