Im getting very good at 150cc, 200 is way too fast for me lol. But on 150cc i can do the turns in yoshi's circuit pretty well not to brag

They're programmed to rebound of walls and hit you. You can do the same though so use it to your advantage

quick tip for 200cc: if there are two turns in quick succession, drift for the second one early. If you drift for the first one you'll overshoot the second turn and crash.

Expectations: Have a fun race between NPC's or maybe even your friends! What a fun time!
Reality:

I’m actually know everything for 200cc brake drifting, that you have to actually drift on some of the boost ramp panels, the MASSIVE Big Blue shortcut, actually all the shortcuts you can do without mushrooms and you MUST have a high acleration combo or you’re basically S C R E W E D because high speed combos don’t do well once you’re hit with a shell or a banana because they can’t get back up to speed. Also there’s a hidden stat in the game like the mini turbo stat, if you have a high mini turbo stat your drift boosts will charge quicker and last longer, my build for 200cc is dry bones, mr scooty, roller wheels and the cloud glider you can also use all the baby characters if you don’t have mr scooty then use the Streetle if you don’t have the cloud glider then use the parafoil. That’s my help to 200cc
I’ve 100 percented the game so I’ve got the gold wheels, gold mario the gold glider, that’s why I know so much but mankalor has done a brake drifting vid. More PRO tips you can outrun blue shells and red shells but they will still catch up in the end, you can dodge a blue shell with the boo item the star the bullet bill ( You can take items from the back don’t use them get them to the top and dodge items) you also can use a mushroom by timing it just perfect and gold mushrooms don’t need timing because just spam that item button to get boosts
200cc is more about overcoming yourself than the opponents. Once you memorize the tracks and get your rhythm going, you'll drive so fast and precise that it's possible to win even from the back by overtaking everybody within the final lap.
I’m honestly surprised that someone of your caliber found this challenging. You dominate at almost anything else. But everyone has some flaws I guess, so keep up the good work!

At 9:43 you could have driven behind the first piranha plant; there is a small lip on the edge of the track so you jump over the grass without touching it. I find it easier as it eliminates two turns.

34 years old, and I love Mario Kart and just got the Switch. One of two games I got? Mario Kart 8 deluxe. Been a long time Mario Kart fan, since the 90s. I love bruising my older brother's ego with this game. Always had a version of Mario Kart 8 with whatever Nintendo console I had which took over my time. I'm prepared to suck at first, but get better with practice.

This game comes with a "instant karma" feature.
To my knowledge, you can get away with a second place or two and get a three star. You need at least 54 points to get a three star, if I’m not mistake. You don’t have to get a perfect 60 points, first place every race.

I don't know why the people at Nintendo thought a Yoshi-shaped track would be a fun idea. It looks cool, but in practice, you're gonna either have to have impeccable control of your brakes, or load up on mushrooms.

CPUs are assigned a spot they will go to with all their power. The places are basically already determined before you even start, and your goal is to stop the CPU with the 1st place designation from being in 1st place.
The CPU that always ends up in front of you or behind you is probably the one that was assigned to be in 1st.
In earlier mario karts, you had to not only get first in every race to get 3 stars, but also be in first for like 90% of the time racing; not to mention that blue shells can show up multiple times per lap, with no super horn to aid you. Basically, mk8 is the casual mario kart. The other games gave me ptsd though, so it’s nice that there’s one game that I can reck people online in, and relax.

Hey, you can try using lightweight character max acceleration (aka least speed) combo, that works for me in 200cc.
Ribbon Road is from Super Circuit but it's extremely modified.
In Yoshi Circuit, if you're fast enough, you can jump over some of those turns using the drift button.
For the combination for 200cc witch one is best or the one you used?
@@treefiddy_Yugo-slay-via as I said I use least speed combo. A lightweight character like koopa, toad etc., Mr Scooty or Buggybud as vehicle, roller or azure roller as wheels. Since parafoil doesn't make much difference you can use anything, but I personally choose ones that lower the speed stat.

2. For every 200cc race I've been playing, Peach and Toad have been in every race and in the exact same car... I'm kinda freaked out.
