I fish for flounder a lot around the Chesapeake Bay. I haven't found anything that beats Gulp. It's normal to outfish everyone on a pier, including the ones using real bait and even live bait. I can put my jig exactly where the fish should be then move to the next spot.

Iv always had the best of luck with gulp grubs
If you fish the deep channels where the big saddle blankets lay. Using live piggy perch will produce flounder well over 20". The bite will be slower but you will catch the mud monsters
I plan on a fishing somewhere around Galveston. I fish Baffin Bay and Laguna madre. This will be my first time fishing north of Christi bay. I have a few questions. Is there a location to sleep in my truck tent that is also close to an area that I could launch my kayak? Is camping aloud?

Do you use any leaders on your jig heads for flounder or tie braid directly?

I have 25 years plus of being an angler and I’ve used Gulp for years and it works. But Nick you have to try Dirty Boxer from FishBites it’s a game changer. It’s a bigger profile but way more durable and it has more tail action.

I will be picking up my gillnets guys December 15. I have all them through the bottom of the Bay systems and drains. I did this so we should have a really strong run and get your freezers full. BTW RX when I cheat I usually use dynamite or shockers off boat and just scoop em up. So gulp is great but a fish fry is still a fish fry even if the Opossum Cops don't like it.
My personal best Red Drum was 38” on a 3” Gulp shrimp under a popping cork. My personal best Flounder was 23” on the same setup. They work.
23” is a bruiser. Well done.
