Good to hear about the effort to put money back in people’s pockets especially pensioners. Would like to hear about the spending on infrastructure; a massive effort is needed to rebuild roads throughout the island.

And you have to pay back that money on the back of the poor ppl a tax run the country is tax nuh come in the country collapsing

    • @gbb82

@@cynthiapraisethelordwright9142 Huh? I don’t understand what you are saying….Are you trying to say there is not enough tax revenue to sustain the repair and building of roads throughout the island? That would not be correct because the government gives obscene amounts of money to bad road contractors who put less than one inch of asphalt on the road, so it’s destroyed one month after they build the road. Strange how they don’t have the money to fix the road properly, but they have the money to waste on the same broken roads year after year.

I was concerned about where all the money was coming from because government tend to give with 1 hand and take nack with the other. Thank you for breaking it down.

It bothers me when I hear Black Peoples Parrot the Word Black in a negative manner, such as Blacklist, Blackmarket, Blackout. Even it is another race that is putting up the barrier, we still used the word Black, such as Blackball. I was working on a Job in New York and my supervisor gave me a bottle of Whiteout and a stack of documents and asked me to Blackout the last sentence on each of the documents, so I told her that I can’t, because she gave me Whiteout, so she fired me, which was a blessing in disguise, because I got a job paying twice what I was making on that Job.

Kalilah, the procurement bit needs to be discussed. That's worrying. I agree we need efficiency, but we also need transparency. The system of transparency hasn't been defined and the current contract award problem wasn't solved, this change is likely to make that award problem worse.

I remember politicians used to issue road works and friends turn enemies in rural communities. People used to suffer like dogs. Same time politicians borrow public funds to send their children to study at foreign universities. Give thanks for the progress. We've been suffering since the 1400s, and now we're making progress I see the astronomical levels of migration into the country. My biggest concern now is that local people who made Jamaica progress will become displaced and cannot afford anything on the island if we can't international investors like local people in Barbados. JAMAICA 🇯🇲 TAKE NOTE. Stop companies bringing workers. Stop foreigners buying s much land . Preserve local people future.

Slight correction.... Should be "if you earn more than or equal to $1.7m... ". A person earning $1.6m would save back only $25k for the year.

I hope there is a great aid for local farmers in the form of subsidies, because GCT is the big portion of any import cost. Without the subsidies and persons gravitating more to local produce the industry will feel it. 😢

Need more info about the securitization of receivables. Which receivables are they securitizing? If it's upcoming tax receipts, that would mean that they're borrowing from future monies, which means less $$$ to spend in future years. If they're securitizing delinquent taxes, then it means additional income that they may not have collected otherwise.
