    Lisa Leslie also is one the few players who has a triple double. It is also a rare triple double because it was based on points, rebounds and blocks.
    Edit: Lisa Leslie was first woman to dunk in WNBA.

    One thing I noticed about the Angel Stans is that they act like it's the W's community's responsibility to help Angel with her game. I saw a video of Cooper showing her how to make a layup. This is not a charity case, it's a professional league. That's a Reese and Sky responsibility, not your competitors.
    For her skill set, she is not a starter. Everyone giving her a cookie for doing the least of what any big girl is expected to do. I'm surprised that she is able to get away with her banging at this level. It would be easy to take a charge against her. Lastly what is up with those scoop shots? She shrinks her size when she does that. it's like how a child plays against an older player.

      Angel is elite defensively. You might not like it, but its true. Angel makes more of a difference on defense than any other player and the stats show it. I used to doubt this until I saw a few minutes of play between Angel and Alyssa Thomas. It was the game where Angel was flagrant fouled by Alyssa multiple times (but only called once). Angel was just abusing Alyssa in the paint and that's what made Alyssa so mad to start fouling her so rough. If Angel can just be average offensively, she is a perennial All Star.

    It's not hating, it's accurate, constructive criticism of AR. The girl is just awkward in her movements; she doesn't do layups; she just throws the ball at the basket and hopes it goes in. She's tough but doesn't know how to finish. Like you said months ago, people around AR are doing her a disservice.

  • @Mirror_of_the_Soul00
    @Mirror_of_the_Soul00 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

    Great video. There is a LARGER discussion that needs to be had. It is the disappearing of fundamentals in basketball. Perhaps part if the reason why Reese has been able to skate by so long without proper fundamentals is because so many other players are doing the same thing. You especially see the lack of fundamentals among the men. The very first thing I notic3d about the women's game when I returned to it was how much harder the ladies played in comparison to the NBA and how frequently they called traveling and other infractions (unlike the NBA).
    And the transfer portal is only exacerbating the issue. If the coach tries to instill discipline and change bad habits what tends to happen? The coach hears an earful from the player, the parents and the fans. Them there are calls for the player to enter the transfer portal. Perhaps the AD tells the coach don't be too harsh on the player. So the coach relents and enters the professional league without the requisite fundamentals. So the WNBA or NBA coach is tasked with teaching the player the fundamentals thst they should have ALREADY learned. Now college coaches can be at a school for decades with no problem but in the pros they expect results. So rather than waste time teaching the players fundamentals, the coaches look to foreign markets for players who already are fundamentally sound. That's why the NBA has so many foreigners and the W is trending that way. We even see foreigners in college (Tehina Pao Pao, Last Tesr Poa, etc).

    The problem is most of her fans are not real basketball fans. A lot of them are just “activists”. Her game gets criticized because she needs a lot of work. She can’t do the basics. Can she rebound yes. She’s a dog on the board. She goes 100 for those rebounds. But when you criticize her game people take it as hate. No her skill set it horrible. How do you run on a fast break, double dribble twice, and travel and they lay the ball up like you are 5? If she had the basic skill set down she would be AMAZING because she works hard. But we can’t pretend she’s really good just because she’s black. Like how is ur shot getting blocked by Jordin Canada. Do people realize how short Jordin is, that’s like me getting blocked by my 1.5 year old son.

    Hi Adrienne. Reese’s problem is that no one has been honest with about how atrocious her game really is and of course she has no self awareness either. That’s what is so important to have real people in the circle who always tells you the truth no matter. CC22 circle has been very intentional about letting know what, when to do or not do. It showed when her father shouted out to her to stop complaining about the officiating and play ball during some games. It’s very apparent the a strong circle is around her and they want the very best for her.

    Man…I gotta say, her upside potential is vast. I really hope Mr. Marsh takes the time and gives the effort to work with her instead of just patronizing her. If he does, we could really see greatness. If she works on and improves some of these basic skills that she’s currently lacking, she could honestly dominate.
    I really hope this happens, because I would like nothing more than to see her flourish and silence her critics. As others have said, though, humility and acceptance will need to be there first for her to have this opportunity.

    Reese uses the body slam quite frequently. I’ve often wondered how it does not get called. It’s intriguing to think about what impact Lisa Leslie could have on Reese’s game. Yet, I don’t really see any real indicators that Reese is open to that level of investment.
    When LL was playing with the Sparks, I was a Mercury fan. So, she was seen as a rival. I still really respected her game AND her character. She had a healthy sense of her array of skills yet she maintained an equally healthy level of dignity & respect for other players…something that has become somewhat rare among the current “stars.” I miss that sportsmanship.
    Back to Reese - I think she could improve. Right now, though, she mostly looks like she’d rather be somewhere else…as if she’s miserable & would like for hoopin to be a fond memory. She looks happiest when she’s modeling - actual modeling, with professional photographers and genuine high fashion. I want her to be happy.

It would be great however, if there was a WNBA version of Hakeem Olajuwon where players can go to in order to get training from them. Parker or Leslie would be great at that. But Hakeem is deeply respected. I don't see that same for Lisa. But I could be wrong.

She’s going to get 10 or 12 rebounds per game and as long as the refs keep giving her free throws for jumping into defenders when she shoots, she’s going to score around 12 points per game. I’m afraid that eventually she’ll grow up and get serious about working on her game, hopefully she’ll stay more concerned about her image than improving her skills.

    You are definitely not a hater. I think Angel is playing like she did in high school and college. Her game hasn't improved. She had so many other great players in college who carried her to the championship. She is a bully and nobody has called her on it. She needs a trainer who will be honest with Angel. She will never get better if she doesn't pass and continues to miss under the basket.
