For retaining nuts/bolts to a socket I use a little piece of paper or plastic, whatever's handy. Put it over the socket and press the fastener in and it'll stay put. Much faster than doing multiple steps and especially handy for stuff where you can't see or easily reach the fastener.

Thinking of doing this conversion on my 06 serve trk it is an XL basic trk manual telescopic tow mirror, no pwr anything! I just want to update mirrors and try to find ones that just have a light I can wire in for marker/ directional great video thanks for sharing 👍

you should look into magnetic sockets. They work great for stuff like this. But also a great video

I would love to see a video showing the install of the power extending/power folding version of these mirrors on a 2000 SD with MANUEL mirrors.
i have a 2005 ford excursion with the mirror you took off on the passenger side can you only get 2008 mirrors or can i buy 2016 mirrors im looking to install the power folding and power extend any ideas on if it will take a whole lot more wireing or work

Our mirrors are $360 shipped. I get so many emails and phone calls about those ebay mirrors. People want me to help them with wires that are wrong on the mirror harness,, shaky lenses,, and non functioning adjust. Remember,, you get what you pay for. I can only speak for ours,, but everyone is happy with them. We have sold over 3000 sets btw.

Do I need to take door panel off if I don't have the automatic mirror??
Any idea how to remove a stripped mounting bolt from the molded plastic?? We managed to strip the top bolt trying to draw it in and now the mirror doesn't seat tight at the top of the bracket. It looks like the entire plastic assembly should come out to replace the bolt but we haven't figured that part out yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
so the grey plug determines if they're heated, powered and have blinkers? and the white plug gives you no options?

Max, I am doing the exact same thing right now on my 2000 f250. You will have to run a wire from your parking lights to the blue wire, blinker positive to the red wire, ground wire to the black, and if you choose to do heat, you need a switch and positive wire to the gray 7 pin

Also on the magnetic sockets,, my magnetic ones are short well. I use a deep well for this. I think I show using magnetic ones for the 7 n 5.5 fasteners.

I've got a 2005 Harley edition F350 that already has signal lights in the mirror as well as heat. I'm wanting to use the 2008 power mirrors that have the power extend and power-fold function. Will they work and if so, do you have a video on installing them?
I'm in the same boat with my 03' King Ranch. I think you have to use separate switches and wire them separately. A video would be great!

Im looking at a 2000 7.3 and it doesn't have tow mirrors how hard would it be to put heated and auto ones on
c u fairly easy. Especially if you have wiring skills,, then you can have all the options. We still sell the heck out of these mirrors. Power folding is available too. We do not touch power telescoping tho.

Where the mirror caps Chrome. I want to paint mine but I already have chrome one what should I do. People say to sand it down a little then prime then paint them clear coat
Eli Pottebaum our mirrors come with plastic caps that are not chrome,, they are called ptm caps. Paint to match. Ours also come with chrome caps tho.
Do these have the Ambient Temperature Sensor?
jack russ no. Our 08 replacement mirrors do have them. But on the 03-07's the ambient temp sensors are in the header panel on the front of the truck. And they only have the sensors if the truck is equipped with climate control.
Why when I did mine, now my window won't go all the way down?? And it happened to my friends as well

Didn't even remove my door panels any way will work i guess 🖒was just as easy
