Hey BP and CP. Not sure if fertilizer will do anything now. You did mention you had a few nights of frost not long ago so looks like that did a number on the alfalfa. May as well cut it when the weather is right and hope for a better second cut. That's where the fertilizer will help kick the next cut into gear especially with a shot of rain. Gotta get our tractors washed up also. Sheri bought a soap applicator so wanna try that out!
Our stuff is way behind, been pretty cool in June, now it’s been raining so it’ll be two weeks before haying starts here. But way better than the mature, grasshopper chewed stuff we were dealing with the last couple years.
That’s what i gotta do to wash my two kubotas but my pressure washer broke was washing my truck and after I was done was putting everything away all nicely and i go to unhook the garden hose the from pressure washer and ended up cross threading the fuckin thing ended up breaking it off
My hay is about like that way south of you in the states. Freeze and dry weather can sure screw up a hay crop. Since can’t put fertilizer on organic, would it worth trying to spread manure on when you clean corrals or too far to haul.

Talk to your land lord. there are organic fertilizers you can use. He should know what is available.
Take a look at the fields that have fertilizer on them and see the difference

My new alfalfa I seeded last year is hardly worth cutting this year. I think with no snow. It got winter killed

This is the second year for it...lastyear it did over 3.5 bales per acre...I think the frost realy hurt it
