I'm not sure what exactly the state built. A larger offramp to I-94? A two mile road? Some of the nearby roads are four lanes when they could probably get away with two but it's not like they built a freeway or bridge or something for this. They took a bunch of land but you can always sell land. And some other business can always move in here. It's not a terrible location. It's near the freeway and between Milwaukee and Chicago. I always thought this project was a little stupid but there were ways for the state to protect themselves in the event that it didn't pan out. Hopefully they did that.
Well sounds like the state didn't when it was under a different administration when the plan was drafted. State did try to do something later, but likely wasn't sucessful. Considering the State can sell the land aquired but the money earned from the sale goes to foxcon, plus improvements on upgrading the power, water, and sewage for industrial use cost a lot. Those improvements will likely take a long time to recoup the cost to upgrade, especially if the upgrades were for handling energy intensive processes for manufacturing. Those upgrades will likely never be fully utilized unless a big manufacturing company or a several move into the area, plus new costs for maintaining everything will likely cost a lot more and those expenses likely won't get off set for a while until more manufactures move in.

In 2009, the Obama administration co-signed $535 million loans to Solyndra. The company filed for bankruptcy on September 1, 2011.
People tend to forget about that.

No one has forgotten about Solyndra. The major difference here is that Solyndra was a start up in green energy. And mismanagement lead to it’s downfall and it being a very bad investment on the Obama Admin. You always have 50/50 on start ups.
Scott Walker and Donald Trump disregarded the fact that Foxconn an established company had already scammed Pennsylvania in 2013. They sold one plan of that got legislator buy in and failed to deliver on that plan. Then they honey dicked Wisconsin.
