Every time I listen to this beautiful masterpiece, I realize how messed up my heart is right now. How I see a post that she'd love and I think, "Oh man I gotta send it to her"- and then I suddenly remember she's not here anymore for me. She'll never see the person I become or all the dreams I told her that I want to achieve. Now that whenever I feel cold, I can just recall how we used to keep close. Leaving my small rant here so that probably a few years or a decade later when I'll suddenly remember this song and come to listen it, I'll get to see my comment and relieve a few wonderful moments. Winter passed, but it made my heart a piece of cold mess!
I like how in the end they are both enjoying a lemon tart. It held a special place in their relationship. Like how trivial and insignificant stuff that don't matter at the beginning of a relationship end up reminding us of the significant other. As we can see them sharing one at begining and then at 2:34 and then again at the end. Maybe it signifies they were not so different in the end after all. It could also be that they just grew into the taste of tart, like how they grew into the idea of the relationship, and they now have it cause they miss each other. Tart symbolizing their relationship probably, uneasy at first, enjoying midway through it and then comfortable in the end even if they have separated. A metaphor on how we pick up bits and pieces of our partner and assimilate them into our personality. We are a product of our relationships(or past experiences). It's these small details that makes me love Prateek. Edit: The drowning in relationship due to toxicity is a nice added touch. Sometimes people in love do drown each other in toxicity. Don’t know if anyone caught this detail but she tells him twice in the video: “Please don’t play that song when we break up” around 00:54 & 03:54, and he promises he won’t but then at 04:28 he does exactly that. I am coming back to this song almost 8 months later. Back in 2018, I met a guy on Tinder and from the first date, I fell head over heels. It was ethereal. I visited places with him. It was with him I went to prateek kuhad's house gig and live shows. Changed a city for him and almost knew he was the one. But that's not how life works right? So, due to certain circumstances, he broke up with me. It's been 8 months now and everytime any Prateek Kuhad songs comes up, I remember him. But yes, it's way better than I thought it would be. Yes, the breakup was shitty, but the love wasn't it. I am glad it happened. I just felt like sharing it.
Anyone who has been in a relationship can relate to every moment of the video and the lyrics. It is a roller coaster but in the end they leave somethings with you which you cannot unlearn or get over with. They just become part of your life for eternity. Beautifully put.
No hate for the video but i think this video( and other Indian videos in general on You tube), generally urban, are heavily inspired by west. These videos lack uniqueness. I don't know. You may have grown listening to English songs, your primary language may have been English, you may have been naturally inclined to this kind of music, you may think that English and west is cool, maybe our own industry have failed to deliver, maybe you want to showcase your talent to the whole world as English is a global language, i don't know the reason, but i think that we should stick to our roots if we want to stand out on world platform. Let me explain this with an example and it is not related to music, so sorry for that. Yesterday I watched a Bollywood (again a name inspired by the west) movie, or should i rather say an Indian film, named Tumbadd, which is a mix of horror, thriller. It was filled with Indian elements which made the movie a very good and different experience. Different because in India , in the name of horror we get cheap copies of Hollywood flicks and their elements. All I want to say is stick to your roots. Its a request so that we can also get a rich experience and do not feel like a slave to the west.
I mean come on, Jim Sarbh in a Prateek Kuhad music video? Didn't know I needed this till I had it. This was so so beautiful. Every lyric has been beautifully portrayed in visuals. The setting. the aesthetic, the whole mood of the video is beautiful. It was as if I was watching a movie with Prateek's voice in the background, exactly the way it was meant to be seen. This was everything I needed and more.
And a few hours ago,I saw a similar tweet on Twitter, then I checked the name and now I see two people with the same name having the same thought talking to each other in the comments section of a TH-cam video......that is some coincidence 😁

So.. the song begins with the two of them after having been through an emotional rollercoaster together , making a decision to consciously detach from each other .. having realised that they were in toxic love ..( the girl doesn't like tarts and the guy dislikes lemons, but they were still eating it nonetheless ..and trying to make it work ! ) So they decide to break up with the girl asking him not to play the song after they do.. but the guy does end up going crazy listening to it over and over again as a means to vent his negative emotions. The two of them jumping into an empty pool is about how they fell in love and jumped right into it.. only to get hurt .. like landing on concrete ! Ouch. The rest of the video typically shows what happens in toxic love , with the guy finding the love too intense and suffocating while the girl being devastated for her needs not being met. . and trying to hold on to the relationship and make it work.. there's constant push and pull between the two of them throughout until one fine day they realise they need to let go of each other as the relationship was eating into their mental peace.. ( that's how the video begins .. the two of them contemplating if it was a good idea to break up). And finally the dust settles .. they are much more at peace if not happier.. after having ended the relationship. However the lemon tart stayed with them.. as an ode to their relationship which sadly didn't work out but had to end for all the good reasons. Sometimes it's just not meant to be , and no matter how hard we try .. what's not meant to be will never be. We let go and go through the process of grieving ( the different stages involved in it) and you accept the reality . .be open to new experiences !! It takes time but you'll get there.. it's a grind. Classic case of toxic love . Something I went through myself . The only difference being a DBC instead of lemon tarts ! I still make it a point to order a tub of DBC at times and eat it all by myself ( no sharing !) ..I do think about the person behind the DBC every time I order one but that's about it . .i end up enjoying for what the dessert it and wonder why I never liked it before it became a part of my "toxic love"! But circumstances drove us apart and a person who I couldn't imagine a life without, walked out . This is the first time in a very long while that I have heard his voice. I was 17 when this one came out. I liked Prateek because of Tune Kaha. Cold mess felt depressing to the then single me in class 12. "Who even likes this shit" I used to think. I'm 22 now, just got out of my first ever 3+ year relationship a couple days ago. Here I am crying listening to this. The lyrics, the video, the storyline, I can relate to everything. This 'Cold/mess' holds a special place in my heart. This song video basically tells that no matter how toxic it gets, you'd still be in love with that person. You really cannot help it or control it. Attachment really sucks the life out of you. A part of them always remains inside you and it haunts you like anything. Nothing hurts more than when you're in love with someone who's bad for you but you cannot stop because it's strangely the fact that youre both crazy makes it feel somewhat more comforting. But in the end when these kind of relationships end all the good memories go die and only the the final bickering, insecurities, desperate attempts to make it right and passionate break up sex remain. The person you couldn't go a few hours without talking to become a blocked contact in your call list, the conversations deleted, the image of each other destroyed, all of it set ablaze. And that's when you realize how powerful love is and how heavy taking someone's pain onto you actually is. You both have problems, you both piss each other off, but only you both can calm each other down. It's crazy, it's madness but goddamn does it make you feel something....

For instance, you were given love only when you obeyed your elders or when you listened to them. Sometimes your parents beat you up and then they show you love.. these are toxic love patterns one develop as a child... when you become an adult, you connect with someone who gives you a taste of your past, so you end up with the same person or someone who gives you the feeling of how you experienced love as a child! So you want to earn love, tiptoe around the one who you are in love with and that makes you feel like you've found the one, but little doe we know that is our brain tricking us into choosing what's not right for us! Love is supposed to make you feel liberated, free and valued, make you the best version of yourself.. I hope all of you find the kind of love that heals you!!! Messy relationships. Finally Ive found my love. I recently attended a prateek kuhad concert with him and he played this song. Felt so overwhelmed and emotional. Life's been such a crazy journey.

I got introduced to this song by a dear friend. We were in class 11 and I just wanted to hang out with her, always, helped her anytime she needed my help, texted her on Whatsapp for the smallest things, I knew the answer, but I still texted her. Btw she was the best in Maths, and that is the only subject we had common in standard 11 and 12th. I obviously liked her, scouted everyday in the morning to get her glimpse when she entered the class room. Would stay back on the days she had extra classes, lmao I had chemistry, so I had to stay back everyday, but when I saw her returning from her global politics class through our class window I would just get happy, maybe a serotonin boost, but it felt great. I would just open my laptop and start working and when she sat beside me, I wanted to leap out of my seat, but I cotinued to work. She would yell, "Stop working, you work all day", I would just smile back. We got to work on the year end board project and the presentation as a group, we met outside for the first time outside of school and guess what we spoke about our semester grades and the project, I'm hopeless I told u. As we were leaving she said, "I'll go to my favourite bakery its around the corner", I wanted to say, "Heyy I'll join you" but I said, "Ok then, I'lll meet you at school." That pretty much summed up my confidence. She introduced me to Prateek Kuhad and here I am writing this message cause I miss, I miss her with all my heart, and I know she comes back here to listen to the song, I hope she reads this message, cause I really love you, I really do, I never could tell you this, but it is what it is.

My dear!! Out of all the comments here yours made me tear up like crazy, cuz I know the feeling of working together while loving the other person so much, but without being able to say anything; always trying to keep it friendly and avoiding to say anything that could give a hint that you have any feelings and that you would like to be more than friends. Keeping it all bottled up it's just heartbreaking. In my case I got the chance to tell him, and I do not regret any second of it, even though he turned me down soon after. It's bittersweet, and yet the experience of being able to express myself, and making that first step nevertheless, gave me a lot of confidence for the future. It took me a very long time to actually say how I feel, as no moment really felt right. I remember I prepared a whole speech in my head, but I ended up saying just 'I like you,' while losing power in my voice halfway through, because I was so overwhelmed. This song is something I feel from my gut. Every time I listen to this beautiful masterpiece, I realize how messed up my heart is right now. How I see a post that she'd love and I think, "Oh man I gotta send it to her"- and then I suddenly remember she's not here anymore for me. She'll never see the person I become or all the dreams I told her that I want to achieve. Now that whenever I feel cold, I can just recall how we used to keep close. I like how in the end they are both enjoying a lemon tart. It held a special place in their relationship. Like how trivial and insignificant stuff that don't matter at the beginning of a relationship end up reminding us of the significant other. As we can see them sharing one at begining and then at 2:34 and then again at the end. Maybe it signifies they were not so different in the end after all.
It could also be that they just grew into the taste of tart, like how they grew into the idea of the relationship, and they now have it cause they miss each other. Tart symbolizing their relationship probably, uneasy at first, enjoying midway through it and then comfortable in the end even if they have separated. A metaphor on how we pick up bits and pieces of our partner and assimilate them into our personality. We are a product of our relationships(or past experiences). It's these small details that makes me love Prateek.

I am coming back to this song almost 8 months later. Back in 2018, I met a guy on Tinder and from the first date, I fell head over heels. It was ethereal. I visited places with him. It was with him I went to prateek kuhad's house gig and live shows. Changed a city for him and almost knew he was the one. But that's not how life works right?
So, due to certain circumstances, he broke up with me. It's been 8 months now and everytime any Prateek Kuhad songs comes up, I remember him. But yes, it's way better than I thought it would be.

No hate for the video but i think this video( and other Indian videos in general on You tube), generally urban, are heavily inspired by west. These videos lack uniqueness. I don't know. You may have grown listening to English songs, your primary language may have been English, you may have been naturally inclined to this kind of music, you may think that English and west is cool, maybe our own industry have failed to deliver, maybe you want to showcase your talent to the whole world as English is a global language, i don't know the reason, but i think that we should stick to our roots if we want to stand out on world platform. Let me explain this with an example and it is not related to music, so sorry for that. Yesterday I watched a Bollywood (again a name inspired by the west) movie, or should i rather say an Indian film, named Tumbadd, which is a mix of horror, thriller. It was filled with Indian elements which made the movie a very good and different experience. Different because in India , in the name of horror we get cheap copies of Hollywood flicks and their elements. All I want to say is stick to your roots. Its a request so that we can also get a rich experience and do not feel like a slave to the west.

the way you described it is beautiful!
So.. the song begins with the two of them after having been through an emotional rollercoaster together , making a decision to consciously detach from each other .. having realised that they were in toxic love ..( the girl doesn't like tarts and the guy dislikes lemons, but they were still eating it nonetheless ..and trying to make it work ! ) So they decide to break up with the girl asking him not to play the song after they do.. but the guy does end up going crazy listening to it over and over again as a means to vent his negative emotions.
The two of them jumping into an empty pool is about how they fell in love and jumped right into it.. only to get hurt .. like landing on concrete ! Ouch.
The rest of the video typically shows what happens in toxic love , with the guy finding the love too intense and suffocating while the girl being devastated for her needs not being met. . and trying to hold on to the relationship and make it work.. there's constant push and pull between the two of them throughout until one fine day they realise they need to let go of each other as the relationship was eating into their mental peace.. ( that's how the video begins .. the two of them contemplating if it was a good idea to break up).
And finally the dust settles .. they are much more at peace if not happier.. after having ended the relationship. However the lemon tart stayed with them.. as an ode to their relationship which sadly didn't work out but had to end for all the good reasons. Sometimes it's just not meant to be , and no matter how hard we try .. what's not meant to be will never be. We let go and go through the process of grieving ( the different stages involved in it) and you accept the reality . .be open to new experiences !! It takes time but you'll get there.. it's a grind.
Classic case of toxic love . Something I went through myself . The only difference being a DBC instead of lemon tarts ! I still make it a point to order a tub of DBC at times and eat it all by myself ( no sharing !) ..I do think about the person behind the DBC every time I order one but that's about it . .i end up enjoying for what the dessert it and wonder why I never liked it before it became a part of my "toxic love"! Lol

It reminds me of what I could have had and whatever I lost... I still miss her from time to time. The little spark in her eyes as this song would come on was enough to make one smile. This 'Cold/mess' holds a special place in my heart. This song video basically tells that no matter how toxic it gets, you'd still be in love with that person. You really cannot help it or control it. For instance, you were given love only when you obeyed your elders or when you listened to them. Sometimes your parents beat you up and then they show you love.. these are toxic love patterns one develop as a child... when you become an adult, you connect with someone who gives you a taste of your past, so you end up with the same person or someone who gives you the feeling of how you experienced love as a child! So you want to earn love, tiptoe around the one who you are in love with and that makes you feel like you've found the one, but little doe we know that is our brain tricking us into choosing what's not right for us! Love is supposed to make you feel liberated, free and valued, make you the best version of yourself.. I hope all of you find the kind of love that heals you!!!

I still remember the first time i listened to this song back in 2019. Didnt understand it much. But liked the song a lot. Its been almost 5 years now. Went through many ups and downs. Messy relationships. Finally Ive found my love. I recently attended a prateek kuhad concert with him and he played this song. Felt so overwhelmed and emotional. Life's been such a crazy journey.

So.... It's going to be 11th July after 27 minutes and this would have been our 10th year anniversary . The first one means the narrator wishes he could leave his love with his lover (keep his love with her or gift it to her), but his heart is messed up.
The second one means the narrator wishes he could leave (break up with) his lover, but he can't because his heart is messed up.

I got introduced to this song by a dear friend. We were in class 11 and I just wanted to hang out with her, always, helped her anytime she needed my help, texted her on Whatsapp for the smallest things, I knew the answer, but I still texted her. Btw she was the best in Maths, and that is the only subject we had common in standard 11 and 12th. I obviously liked her, scouted everyday in the morning to get her glimpse when she entered the class room. Would stay back on the days she had extra classes, lmao I had chemistry, so I had to stay back everyday, but when I saw her returning from her global politics class through our class window I would just get happy, maybe a serotonin boost, but it felt great. I would just open my laptop and start working and when she sat beside me, I wanted to leap out of my seat, but I cotinued to work. She would yell, "Stop working, you work all day", I would just smile back. We got to work on the year end board project and the presentation as a group, we met outside for the first time outside of school and guess what we spoke about our semester grades and the project, I'm hopeless I told u. As we were leaving she said, "I'll go to my favourite bakery its around the corner", I wanted to say, "Heyy I'll join you" but I said, "Ok then, I'lll meet you at school." That pretty much summed up my confidence. She introduced me to Prateek Kuhad and here I am writing this message cause I miss, I miss her with all my heart, and I know she comes back here to listen to the song, I hope she reads this message, cause I really love you, I really do, I never could tell you this, but it is what it is.
you should talk to her more, ask her about what she likes, let her to know you and backward, you will be young for a short time so let yourself enjoy it.
if you stop feeling this at least you earn a good friend and if you keep feeling this then you should tell her, you will not regret it, no matter what she would feel for you, always better to tell than keeping it, better for you as a person.

Out of all the comments here yours made me tear up like crazy, cuz I know the feeling of working together while loving the other person so much, but without being able to say anything; always trying to keep it friendly and avoiding to say anything that could give a hint that you have any feelings and that you would like to be more than friends. Keeping it all bottled up it's just heartbreaking. In my case I got the chance to tell him, and I do not regret any second of it, even though he turned me down soon after. It's bittersweet, and yet the experience of being able to express myself, and making that first step nevertheless, gave me a lot of confidence for the future. It took me a very long time to actually say how I feel, as no moment really felt right. I remember I prepared a whole speech in my head, but I ended up saying just 'I like you,' while losing power in my voice halfway through, because I was so overwhelmed. It's been what, some 4 years now(?), I fell in love, had the best time of my life, saw a whole world in one single person, ended up being dumped, felt the worst of heartbreaks, got technically insane, somehow just could hold myself together whilst crying nights. I have lived a whole lifetime in all these years listening to this one song everyday(almost).

It was 2020, someone recommended this, I started to listen to this everyday, I played it on guitar for him and posted it on my Instagram. He slowly became one of the most important person in my life, he loved me in the way I couldn't even imagine in my dream, he cared like my father who I lost in 2016.. and suddenly things falling apart. This song is something I feel from my gut. I have experienced this with a boy I tried to love…No matter how much I loved him and tried to help him, he would lash back at me and be all paranoid and toxic and made me feel bad about myself…In the end, it became so mentally painful for me that I left him…And believe me, he is still in his world of betrayal and did not recognise the extreme potential in our love to come out of his bubble..Its truly sad because we were soulmates but nothing happened in the end.
