It makes sense, cause they made a demo version back in 2004, the same year she left the group. Its very likely that they recorded the song long time before the released the final edition of it. Kaya and Carmit has some similarities in their voices. In WWAFAWFLG their voices blends perfect together, and I guess that’s why it might sound like Carmit singing the backing vocal around the song. But it really does sounds like Kaya, when you listen really deep
Their voices blend together well because Kaya is a Soprano and Carmit is a Mezzo-Soprano with darker tonal qualities similar to a Contralto… they have no vocal similarities (at all.), with all due respect.
i lee coming back, i filtered out some vocals for myself back a while ago of the chorus but it seem a like it’s so hard to just pull kaya’s voice by herself. nicole layered it so heavily so regardless you always find bits and pieces of her voice layering somewhere. i’d love to hear cleaner part of the chorus (the layers themselves without other layers peaking in)
I guess it’s just Nicole with different layers you can hear that it’s the SAME audio just pitched different and I doubt that she would just say « Can’t agree »
i don’t think kaya sings in this? it’s nicole singing in mixed voice. kaya left the group before they started recording the album, and the demo of buttons was in a lower key than this? i know she sang in WWAFAWFLG and possibly sway but i don’t think she’s in any of the others
@@mjl5777 I added her because I hear her voice in the second part pretty clear but i get your point because at the same time I think they recorded buttons after she left the group. Who knows, maybe some of the vocals were recorded time before she left.
I am so tired and over the shenanigans-Kaya laid down the vocals of the early Dolls songs-Don’tcha-/Buttons/etc-I WAS THERE-I happen to be her mother-so if they try to say she wasn’t a DOLL -they are full of it!😡
@@aaronlob6975 Tori doesn't recorded it with them, you're right. She recorded BEFORE them and the producer reused her vocals in the pcd version. It's probably that Kaya only sings in the songs that were recorded in 2004, such as Buttons (sung earlier in 2004 in New Year's Eve), Sway (released in september of 2004), We Were As Far (part of the BSO of Shark Tale, movie released in 2004), and Tainted Love (that was probably recorded in 2004 at the same time they used to perform it live when Kaya was still being part of the group and, even, had a verse in the performance). You are in your right to not trust in my video but don't tell to change nothing because I have nothing to change in it.

kaya has actually posted a audio clip of her voice in buttons. i think it’s safe to say it’s her ngl

Maybe Kaya is in Tainted Love aswell. Cause they performed that song a few times, with her on it🤔
I heard there was an unleaked demo with her singing lead, like the early performances of the song.
She is. She’s on Tainted Love, We Went As Far As We Felt Like Going, Sway, Buttons, and Supernatural.
