  • This video shows the fast processing techniques Craig used in PixInsight and Photoshop to quickly create a finished image. It really highlights the value of a non-destructive workflow and includes most of the processing techniques I'm currently using in my workflow. M78 is the brightest reflection nebula in the night sky so blending dark and light versions helps manage the dynamic range of the target.

Thank you Craig. I believe this is one of your best videos to date and have watched most of them, I particularly like how you use Pi and PS together.

More of the more complicated processing videos Craig. That was very well done.

Craig you mentioned you are probably using BlurX wrong. I'm not sure where else in the flow it could go while still using Photoshop with groups as you do. Have you settled in yet to perhaps another workflow where you will be using it? I believe Russ said it's to be used early in processing. Thanks again for the clear, helpful tutorials.

My workflow will probably continue to evolve but feels pretty stable for now

How do you get the DBE sample points to go to the periphery only?

Do you not use the HDR tools in PI?

No, but I do have Linear Defect Correction turned on. I haven't found Cosmetic Correction to be helpful, but I've only tried it a few times.
