For the problem of tridents vanishing just pick them up and put them in a chest when youre not using the farm. You could set up some pistons a few blocks above the tridents to block creepers from falling all the way down. Activate the pistons so blocks are pushed into the shoots blocking the creepers then go into the chambers and collect yoyr tridents before leaving the area or logging off.
That also means that if you have other people using your world, they can put the tridents out so it works properly for them as well. You might want to include a looting III sword in the chest as well, just in case the people don't have one. It could even be on a wooden sword so that people don't want to steel the sword 😂
My tridents kept disappearing, so this is exactly what I did. I used another redstone circuit with lever which when flicked will block the drop chute, stop the trident killer and will open the door to collect trident. I spend hours on figuring out redstone circuit for it, as i am a redstone beginner.

For the trident issue. I started putting item frames at each spot I'm using a trident killer and I collect them after I use the farm and put the tridents in the frames for safe keeping. I got tired of loosing all of my tridents. It didn't use to he an issue!

This thing is a monster machine! I built it in peaceful over an ocean and once the water area was done, I had a crazy efficient squid farm raking in the ink sacs. When it is fully running in hard mode, I get all the creepers, but since it is over the ocean, I also get DROWNED! My creeper farm is a trident farm too! Also, I modified one of the trident-killers with a design from silentwisper for a music disc farm and collected all the discs I needed in no time! VERY satisfied with the results of this machine. Thanks so much and keep it up!
I just started building this and noticed that when you build it in an ocean biome with only the water streams and kill chambers but no creeper spawn platforms/roof, it's a fairly decent trident farm as well as not bad for squid too. So I'm just pausing my build until I build up a nice supply of tridents for future projects.
The previous creeper farm I had built (currently broken) made me lose my sanity while placing scaffolding, water and trapdoors. This one looks way easier to build while still yielding good rates. Thanks a lot!

Easy way to get tridents. In bedrock im pretty sure you can give a drowned with a trident nautilus shell and the drowned will pick up the shell and drop the trident 100% of the time.

It just so happens I need a creeper farm on my realm. I like this design. Pretty straightforward build. I built one with water mechanics, scaffolding, and trap doors last realm. It works really well. However I think this should work even better. Thanks for the guide.
I started to make the iskall snow golem farm you showcased a while back but ended up having to tear it down because I built it in a snowy plains biome and wasn't getting creeper spawns at all. You released this video at the perfect time!
I just built this in my world and it works very well, it gave about a stack of gunpowder per minute, the only issue I ran into was squids and drown spawning in the water system, it doesn't seem to affect the rates for me and also it gives tons of ink sacs which are very helpful

This farm is amazing. Spent all night building it! I built the roof out of stone bricks and used buttons to spawnproof because tinted glass is taking a while to get right now. I'm still getting just under a stack a minute and will be replacing the roof with tinted glass when I get enough. Amazing farm design!!!
@@imeatingtoastyou need to place a slab under every full block of water every single one im pretty sure they cant spawn on slabs or in less than 1 full block its worked so far for me.
You could use copper grates around the top to eliminate the need for buttons since they are not a spawnabke block, and it would match the copper look and cost the same amount of copper.
In 1.21+, You can change the trapdoors on the ceilings to buttons. Mobs now spawn in the center of a block and button is enough. Trust me. This will make your life easier
Prowel. Still the king of “Bedrock” tutorials. There are a lot of content creators putting out tutorials for Minecraft. Of those creators 99.9% of them make “Java” tutorials. I have no problem with any of them. Until….. I watch their video like the style and function enough to try. Only to find out after putting “hours” into the resource collection and construction only to find out it’s a Java farm that will never work on Bedrock. Then I get so freaking po’d that well…. (Not good and kids could be reading so..) 🤯🤬🤯 With a Prowel tutorial right on the thumbnail it says “Bedrock”. Major props for that. This is done so infrequently that it must be super hard to do. So thanks again Prowel. Prowel even explains the “why” something is done “this” way. Which makes trouble shooting a heck of a lot easier. I’ve learned enough of the Bedrock tec through Prowel that I can regularly spot a Java exclusive build real easy saving me a ton of unnecessary frustration. Heck in some cases I can figure out the fix/mod to make the build work in Bedrock. All the credit for that goes to Prowel. So in summary Prowel here is my go to Bedrock guru. That in no way diminishes any other creators Videos. But if you’re a Bedrocker, Powel is the guy with the knowledge you need.
I built it over an ocean Whats great about it is that before building the spawing area, i was getting tons of drown kills each nights, as they spawned on the water supposed to displace creepers, so i got a load of tridents while building it I havent tested it yet, so i hope they wont spawn during afk sessions
@@joeward1997 appreciate it. I actually figured it out a bit later when I saw some poll about chiseled copper. At first I was like I’d hate to mine all that just to have to set it all out and then mine it again to place it. Then it dawned on me that you could just build it with the copper and it would eventually oxidize and it would save a step.
Just built this myself and a few observations: 1) while building in peaceful mode I was getting a ton of squid spawns while building over an ocean 2) I turned it on and I was also getting drowned drops so 2 in 1 farm. 3) I’m getting roughly 4.5 stacks every 6 minutes. Good farm and hopefully the next update doesn’t break it
@@Prowl8413 Also valid - might have to make a use case for decorative fireworks (or dare I say, TNT) in the near future! Right now for flying, I find my general mob farm to be sufficient. But again.... I could create the need 😁
I don't know about anyone else, but the recent 1.21 updates broke my pillager captain farm. I discovered through trial and error that they will no longer spawn on flooded blocks, or with anything else "on" the block. I built a flushing system on a redstone hopper clock and 2 stack of blocks to turn it on and off. They spawn and get flushed into the trident killer now. It's slower than it was before but still works.
Man, this may have taken me two days to build in my brand new survival world I just started to finish achievements. But this farm is so overpowered man an I even only did 3 layers! Being said I may make this a new realms profile for me. Just letting you know this is awesome man. An you always have the best videos! Great farm! Worth the time put in to build! FYI, you say building this anywhere except over rivers is fine on bedrock, but you also cannot build this over mangrove swamps since they don't spawn creepers.

Anyone building this farm I would highly recommend using solid blocks instead of tinted glass except for the roof. I just built this to Prowl’s materials list, what a grind!!! I was able to find a triple geode, and in the time it took to get the crystals I mined 20,000+ deepslate with no beacon only efficiency 5. Took 13 days between resource gathering and building….. that being said the farm is amazing!! And I would advise building over an ocean as it also becomes a squid AND drowned farm. I’ve been AFKing off and on for the last day and have gotten well over 100 tridents. Also 35 shulkers of gunpowder.

Just finished. Easily the best gunpowder farm I’ve ever made. If anyone is curious. I only made it 3 layers high and used no tinted glass. I have 0 squids or drowned, only creepers. And used 0 tinted glass. I get about a double chest worth every hour.

I finished the farm 100% recommended, took a good bit of time and resources but if you are wanting gunpowder your gonna get it. Aswell as ink sacs😂 but great tutorial
If you build over ocean and dont want squid you have to put a slab under every full block of water, i havent figured out what to do about drowned yet but im not too mad about the tridents
Gathering all these materials in survival was a journey in itself lmaooo i built multiple farms to build this one Edit: When placing the hoppers for your item collection(the hopper lines), get a few extra hoppers and make them a block lower than the ceiling. It was extremely frustrating because the hoppers would lock due to the powered rails. I had finally finished fixing it and was setting up my phone for the next step when it fell very unconveniently onto my button for my surge protector and switched it shutting everything off. My save corrupted but i had made a backup after finishing the trident killers because ive lose multiple worlds to corruption. Making the hopper line one lower on the second go was sooooo much easier Edit 2: yall I just finished building this and omg it sucked to build but it workssss

I had a lot of fun building this on my Switch, but i used creative not survival. I didn't need something this big but wanted to prove i could make a working creeper only farm because all the other tutorials i could find must be to old and they all ended up clogged with spiders. I am not someone that really follows the games's technical aspects too terribly much and i knew there had been a change to how mob farms would work but at that point i had only messed around using spawners to meet my needs. So thank you so very much for posting this tutorial and for explaining so clearly the how and why it works. I really learned a lot. The biggest problem i am having is daisy chaining of all the chambers to 1 switch. I have not done a lot of Trident killers and get the basics but still confused about how and WHERE connecting the switch/powering part really works. I usually don't care about the status of pistons as long as i can turn it off and on when i want. Stringing them together is something i have never done. Side note, I prefer the Switch so i can't use Foxy's add on last time i tried, so i just modified how i built the 3rd level by just making the center 4 platforms ( again thank you for visually explaining/showing how the radius thing works). I built this over the ocean starting at level 219 ( i have seen a few tutorials that all recommended starting at that level. I am having the best creeper rate i have ever had and NO SPIDERS!!! HOWEVER, this farm is also fantastic for tridents, shells and squid. I forgot to turn off Mob spawning and had at least 2 double chests of each by the time i was done. I think i am going to try replacing some of the flooring and dividers that are under the water with tinted glass to see if that makes a difference. I really don't mind the ink and such, it's more the rotten flesh and that kind of junk that fills up the chests that is annoying and i am too lazy to add an item sorter right now. Again thanks so much for the help. I don't know if the extra move are a switch thing or not so if anyone could let me know that would be great!😊
What if we placed pistons to close of the chutes while we throw our tridents again, safety measure becasue what if while you are placing the tridents again a creeper falls and explodes? On the other hand what if we built an item elevator to have the items go to the platform where you are afk so we can have it all there in one place? any ideas?

@@Prowl8413 I was mainly messing around because that’s exactly how his tutorials are even though they are incredible. It was nice actually understanding how the farm and game mechanics work. I had no clue how the spawn rates worked on bedrock compared to Java. It was definitely useful info!
I mentioned this in the video, but just don't do as many platforms. Instead of 6 platforms across each way, do just 4 across instead, and 4 trident killers instead of 9

built this over an ocean cause that's where my old creeper farm was, i'm getting drowned spawning where the water is, while i don't really mind it, i already have a trident farm and i'm somewhat worried about rates, even though this farm produces more than enough gunpowder, i just really want it to be a creeper farm and not a creeper and drowned farm, does anyone know if anything can be done about it? maybe soul lanterns at the bottom? i've got no idea pls help :( ps. i'm also getting squids in there too oh lord
you can stop drowned from spawning by building the water funnel floor out of tinted glass, since glass is a non spawnable block. you can't make it out of normal glass or light will shine through during the day time. (Dunno abt the squids tho :P)

I keep the killing chamber of my iron farm unlit(except the lava in the middle of course). My iron farm doubles as a low rate mob farm. It produces rotten flesh, gunpowder, string, bones and arrows. Norhing in huge quantities but over time it all adds up.
You're likely to eventually have a skeleton try to shoot an iron golem, accidently hit a creeper, then the creeper explode on the skeleton, and blow up some of your farm.
@@Prowl8413 I've set this up a couple dozen times and yes.........about twice I've checked my drop chest and found signs from the kill chamber. It's annoying but a simple fix. The lava spills out and makes stone which blocks the hopper. The one thing I think helps to minimize this is the ring of magma blocks that I put around the hopper of the kill chamber. This quickly dispatches zombies and skeletons that spawn and keeps em from hanging out for too long.

I'm planning on building this with fall damage as the kill method. There won't be a looting bonus, but i have so many gp sources already, this will be a nice way to have something passive in another area of the world, and wont have to be interacted with. It will be interesting to see how it produces while just sort of off to the side while I build a dye and paper factory nearby.
My creeper farm didn’t break, I haven’t even watched this yet but I saw something todo with the spawn being changed to middle block makes it to where other mobs can also spawn which slows rates? After the update I checked my farm and it still works but I haven’t afk’d it long enough to know. I hate troubleshooting in Minecraft 😂
If it’s too intimidating of a material list (a lot of it is aesthetic blocks, so you could get away with not gathering certain things like 90 stacks of tinted glass for example, although it’s still A LOT either way), but if you also still want a really efficient gunpowder farm then silentwisperer just uploaded a tutorial that gives slightly better rates than this farm, while also having a much less painful material list. You will still need to gather a lot of materials for silent’s tutorial, but they are all less painful materials to collect than the ones used in this design. As an added bonus Silents farm is super easy to expand upon and build to your liking. What I mean by that is you could start off by only building half (or a quarter, or even less) of the farm, and then continue expanding upon it later as you continue progressing in the game, or you can just keep it smaller if the rates are good enough for your liking. Silent’s farm produces 4800 gunpowder an hour when built to its full size, but even only building a quarter of his farm to start off with would still get you 1200 an hour, which is really good, and which will be a MUCH more manageable material grind than this farm here.
Anybody else noticing that mob spawners may be broken? Been hunting a lot with no luck. Found an abandoned mine shaft with 2 cave spider shafts, but no spawners…just up for discussion.
For the trident glitch where they fall through world, you can just pick them up and put in chest before u use and when done with farm. This happened ti me with raid farm a while back and fixed my problem hope this helps😊

It's closer to like 80% maybe, they won't pick it up every time, but every time they do pick it up they drop their Trident

This farm is amazing. Spent all night building it! I built the roof out of stone bricks and used buttons to spawnproof because tinted glass is taking a while to get right now. I'm still getting just under a stack a minute and will be replacing the roof with tinted glass when I get enough. Amazing farm design!!!
Built it with him and this is such a good farm right off the bat. Solved all pir gunpower issues pretty much forever

You could use copper grates around the top to eliminate the need for buttons since they are not a spawnabke block, and it would match the copper look and cost the same amount of copper.
In 1.21+, You can change the trapdoors on the ceilings to buttons. Mobs now spawn in the center of a block and button is enough. Trust me. This will make your life easier

Prowel. Still the king of “Bedrock” tutorials. There are a lot of content creators putting out tutorials for Minecraft.
Of those creators 99.9% of them make “Java” tutorials. I have no problem with any of them. Until…..
I watch their video like the style and function enough to try. Only to find out after putting “hours” into the resource collection and construction only to find out it’s a Java farm that will never work on Bedrock. Then I get so freaking po’d that well…. (Not good and kids could be reading so..) 🤯🤬🤯
With a Prowel tutorial right on the thumbnail it says “Bedrock”. Major props for that. This is done so infrequently that it must be super hard to do. So thanks again Prowel.
Prowel even explains the “why” something is done “this” way. Which makes trouble shooting a heck of a lot easier.
I’ve learned enough of the Bedrock tec through Prowel that I can regularly spot a Java exclusive build real easy saving me a ton of unnecessary frustration.
Heck in some cases I can figure out the fix/mod to make the build work in Bedrock. All the credit for that goes to Prowel.
So in summary Prowel here is my go to Bedrock guru. That in no way diminishes any other creators Videos. But if you’re a Bedrocker, Powel is the guy with the knowledge you need.

Whats great about it is that before building the spawing area, i was getting tons of drown kills each nights, as they spawned on the water supposed to displace creepers, so i got a load of tridents while building it
I havent tested it yet, so i hope they wont spawn during afk sessions

@@joeward1997 appreciate it. I actually figured it out a bit later when I saw some poll about chiseled copper. At first I was like I’d hate to mine all that just to have to set it all out and then mine it again to place it. Then it dawned on me that you could just build it with the copper and it would eventually oxidize and it would save a step.
No problem man you could also mine out a trial chamber for the oxidised copper and then craft or stone cutter it into the chiseled ones

Just built this myself and a few observations:
1) while building in peaceful mode I was getting a ton of squid spawns while building over an ocean
2) I turned it on and I was also getting drowned drops so 2 in 1 farm.
3) I’m getting roughly 4.5 stacks every 6 minutes.
Good farm and hopefully the next update doesn’t break it
More gunpowder than I need, but always really cool to learn how these things work!! Will have to keep this in mind if my gunpowder usage skyrockets!
Dont build 6x6 platforms across, only do 2, or 4 platforms. Scale it down :p

I don't know about anyone else, but the recent 1.21 updates broke my pillager captain farm. I discovered through trial and error that they will no longer spawn on flooded blocks, or with anything else "on" the block. I built a flushing system on a redstone hopper clock and 2 stack of blocks to turn it on and off. They spawn and get flushed into the trident killer now. It's slower than it was before but still works.
Man, this may have taken me two days to build in my brand new survival world I just started to finish achievements. But this farm is so overpowered man an I even only did 3 layers!
Being said I may make this a new realms profile for me.

FYI, you say building this anywhere except over rivers is fine on bedrock, but you also cannot build this over mangrove swamps since they don't spawn creepers.

@@aleski6506 made this mistake once. Built and older creeper farm design, good thing it was entirely underground. I ended up with a nice big open room for the underground portion of my house
took me a couple weeks to get all the materials together... 100% worth it

Anyone building this farm I would highly recommend using solid blocks instead of tinted glass except for the roof. I just built this to Prowl’s materials list, what a grind!!! I was able to find a triple geode, and in the time it took to get the crystals I mined 20,000+ deepslate with no beacon only efficiency 5. Took 13 days between resource gathering and building….. that being said the farm is amazing!! And I would advise building over an ocean as it also becomes a squid AND drowned farm. I’ve been AFKing off and on for the last day and have gotten well over 100 tridents. Also 35 shulkers of gunpowder.

99% of people doesn't care about explanations, they want an 8minute video straight to the point of how to make the farm that they want so that they can move on with their survival world. How do I know that? Check JCs latest views and check prowls

Just finished. Easily the best gunpowder farm I’ve ever made. If anyone is curious. I only made it 3 layers high and used no tinted glass. I have 0 squids or drowned, only creepers. And used 0 tinted glass. I get about a double chest worth every hour.
I'm stopped getting squid and drown as soon as the roof was on but now I'm getting spiders...

If you build over ocean and dont want squid you have to put a slab under every full block of water, i havent figured out what to do about drowned yet but im not too mad about the tridents
Gathering all these materials in survival was a journey in itself lmaooo i built multiple farms to build this one
Edit: When placing the hoppers for your item collection(the hopper lines), get a few extra hoppers and make them a block lower than the ceiling. It was extremely frustrating because the hoppers would lock due to the powered rails. I had finally finished fixing it and was setting up my phone for the next step when it fell very unconveniently onto my button for my surge protector and switched it shutting everything off. My save corrupted but i had made a backup after finishing the trident killers because ive lose multiple worlds to corruption. Making the hopper line one lower on the second go was sooooo much easier

I had a lot of fun building this on my Switch, but i used creative not survival. I didn't need something this big but wanted to prove i could make a working creeper only farm because all the other tutorials i could find must be to old and they all ended up clogged with spiders. I am not someone that really follows the games's technical aspects too terribly much and i knew there had been a change to how mob farms would work but at that point i had only messed around using spawners to meet my needs. So thank you so very much for posting this tutorial and for explaining so clearly the how and why it works. I really learned a lot. The biggest problem i am having is daisy chaining of all the chambers to 1 switch. I have not done a lot of Trident killers and get the basics but still confused about how and WHERE connecting the switch/powering part really works. I usually don't care about the status of pistons as long as i can turn it off and on when i want. Stringing them together is something i have never done.
Side note, I prefer the Switch so i can't use Foxy's add on last time i tried, so i just modified how i built the 3rd level by just making the center 4 platforms ( again thank you for visually explaining/showing how the radius thing works).
I built this over the ocean starting at level 219 ( i have seen a few tutorials that all recommended starting at that level. I am having the best creeper rate i have ever had and NO SPIDERS!!! HOWEVER, this farm is also fantastic for tridents, shells and squid. I forgot to turn off Mob spawning and had at least 2 double chests of each by the time i was done. I think i am going to try replacing some of the flooring and dividers that are under the water with tinted glass to see if that makes a difference. I really don't mind the ink and such, it's more the rotten flesh and that kind of junk that fills up the chests that is annoying and i am too lazy to add an item sorter right now.

What if we placed pistons to close of the chutes while we throw our tridents again, safety measure becasue what if while you are placing the tridents again a creeper falls and explodes? On the other hand what if we built an item elevator to have the items go to the platform where you are afk so we can have it all there in one place? any ideas?

So just wondering what is stopping baby zombies from spawning? You didn't mention them when talking about spawn-proofing so I'm just wondering the mechanic/s behind that part too since they're way smaller than 2 blocks tall.
Baby zombies require the same size spawn spot as a regular zombie, so you'll never have them spawn where a regular zombie can't spawn

This was not a shot at JC or anyone else. It's me simply stating to people this video is not me counting blocks and just telling you where to put stuff. Many tutorial creators do things this way, heck I may do it this way from time to time, but this video isn't that, and I felt it good for people to understand that early.
@@Prowl8413 I was mainly messing around because that’s exactly how his tutorials are even though they are incredible. It was nice actually understanding how the farm and game mechanics work. I had no clue how the spawn rates worked on bedrock compared to Java. It was definitely useful info!

I mentioned this in the video, but just don't do as many platforms. Instead of 6 platforms across each way, do just 4 across instead, and 4 trident killers instead of 9

Best gunpowder farm ever
built this over an ocean cause that's where my old creeper farm was, i'm getting drowned spawning where the water is, while i don't really mind it, i already have a trident farm and i'm somewhat worried about rates, even though this farm produces more than enough gunpowder, i just really want it to be a creeper farm and not a creeper and drowned farm, does anyone know if anything can be done about it? maybe soul lanterns at the bottom? i've got no idea pls help :( ps. i'm also getting squids in there too oh lord
you can stop drowned from spawning by building the water funnel floor out of tinted glass, since glass is a non spawnable block.
you can't make it out of normal glass or light will shine through during the day time. (Dunno abt the squids tho :P)

Is there any reason for using powered rails next to the observers over a single redstone torch?
I keep the killing chamber of my iron farm unlit(except the lava in the middle of course).
My iron farm doubles as a low rate mob farm. It produces rotten flesh, gunpowder, string, bones and arrows. Norhing in huge quantities but over time it all adds up.
You're likely to eventually have a skeleton try to shoot an iron golem, accidently hit a creeper, then the creeper explode on the skeleton, and blow up some of your farm.
@@Prowl8413 I've set this up a couple dozen times and yes.........about twice I've checked my drop chest and found signs from the kill chamber. It's annoying but a simple fix. The lava spills out and makes stone which blocks the hopper.
The one thing I think helps to minimize this is the ring of magma blocks that I put around the hopper of the kill chamber. This quickly dispatches zombies and skeletons that spawn and keeps em from hanging out for too long.
Thanks Prowl. This will be my next big build in my survival world (Still love the four chunk slime fam, My first big build). What mods were you using to copy and paste the structures? Also would you consider doing a tunnel boring machine tutorial?
Its not a mod, just a structure block in creative mode. You have to type /give @s structure_block to get it
I'm planning on building this with fall damage as the kill method. There won't be a looting bonus, but i have so many gp sources already, this will be a nice way to have something passive in another area of the world, and wont have to be interacted with. It will be interesting to see how it produces while just sort of off to the side while I build a dye and paper factory nearby.
My creeper farm didn’t break, I haven’t even watched this yet but I saw something todo with the spawn being changed to middle block makes it to where other mobs can also spawn which slows rates? After the update I checked my farm and it still works but I haven’t afk’d it long enough to know. I hate troubleshooting in Minecraft 😂

pov: me on my 50 day server barely made a working iron farm
If it’s too intimidating of a material list (a lot of it is aesthetic blocks, so you could get away with not gathering certain things like 90 stacks of tinted glass for example, although it’s still A LOT either way), but if you also still want a really efficient gunpowder farm then silentwisperer just uploaded a tutorial that gives slightly better rates than this farm, while also having a much less painful material list. You will still need to gather a lot of materials for silent’s tutorial, but they are all less painful materials to collect than the ones used in this design. As an added bonus Silents farm is super easy to expand upon and build to your liking. What I mean by that is you could start off by only building half (or a quarter, or even less) of the farm, and then continue expanding upon it later as you continue progressing in the game, or you can just keep it smaller if the rates are good enough for your liking. Silent’s farm produces 4800 gunpowder an hour when built to its full size, but even only building a quarter of his farm to start off with would still get you 1200 an hour, which is really good, and which will be a MUCH more manageable material grind than this farm here.

Anybody else noticing that mob spawners may be broken? Been hunting a lot with no luck. Found an abandoned mine shaft with 2 cave spider shafts, but no spawners…just up for discussion.

Due to spawn weights in Bedrock, creeper farms are roughly 1.35 times more efficient in ice spikes and frozen ocean biomes.
I thought it was closer to 1.25x faster, but either way, yes, you're right

For the trident glitch where they fall through world, you can just pick them up and put in chest before u use and when done with farm. This happened ti me with raid farm a while back and fixed my problem hope this helps😊
