Walking dolls of that size have been available since the 1950s. All of them use the same trick, you hold their hand and it off balances them causing a leg to swing , you move your hand a bit to balance it which overcompensates and causesw the other leg to swing. That guy just has a low tech version instead of a full bodies doll.
Awesome! Close to what I just commented before I saw your comment. With your historical context it's even more likely to work exactly as you suggest. I do think however that the legs are connected and powered by a wound-up rubber band.
Edit: apparently your simpler explanation is indeed correct! these dolls worked without the need of any mechanism to power the legs (based on other commenters) like the wound-up rubber band I suggested.
The doll I believe is kind of like slight of hand. His hard to see movements are creating the wobble that moves it in a way to make each leg move in a wobble motion to appear like walking. The same thing can be done with chairs, tables, ladders, etc. At least I believe that’s how this one is done. It’s definitely not haunted. Haha Thank you for the great video as always, Beardo! Keep up the great work, man!
Another great debunk video Beardo. The video with the kid and the tv, on your video time around the 27.20 minute mark, when you pointed out the person masked out on the wall, under the table also goes dark before the table is lifted up. It’s horrible how people shamelessly use their children in videos to suggest their house is haunted! 🤬 Keep it up, and hi to Mrs Geek.
The poor child keeps looking at a parent to see what to do next. Sad to use your child like that. Using your child to lie is bad parenting. Poor child. 😢

WOW!!! That Spiderman painting is amazing! The walking doll, i believe it's just him pulling the arm making it off balance enough to get it to move. Either way, that thing is creeepeeeeeeyyyyy.. His poor daughter! LOL
31:08 I think I know how the walking doll works... But first: Awesome video! I'm very impressed by your observational skills to spot tiny abberations in the video, that I even miss on the replay! Very impressive! the 'pelvis' is hollow. And the hips both have a mechanism that allows the back and forth motion. The mechanisms are joined by a wound up rubber band that wants to unwind by turning the 'hips' The handler very subtilty rocks the doll from one foot to the other, causing the rubber band to act as a differential: the grounded foot has resistance, so the rubber band only moves the airborne leg/foot, until the handler sets it down, and lifts the other foot that is now free to rotate. Love to hear what you think of my theory! Keep up the great work!

Dear Goosepimples: if the wood is hollow then there's loads of room for wires. That doll's the size of a child, compare it to how big, say Robosapien is, or how big a regular remote controlled car is, or how big a wind-up toy is. As a toy nerd I can confirm that very small things are capable of pretty complex action features and that doll is only required to move two hinge joints at it's hips when turned on, something that toys have been able to do for about three quaters of a century. It's really not an impressive feat to make that happen, especially not in something that big. It could be as simple a mechanism as dapje2002 or katenunyabizness9221 suggested or it could be something more complicated taken from remote controlled toys, Robosapian-style robots or even animatronics.
I’m sure there’s nothing paranormal about the walking doll, but it still freaks me out. I hate everything about it. That thing’d be in the fireplace within five minutes of coming into my house, I tell you that.
22:42 - Hey! I used to have a TV like that too! Those screens on that TV put out a lot of radiation. Mine sizzled dead when I accidentally left a bottle of Febreeze sit in front of it and the radiation made the bottle explode and the liquid made the screen sizzle dead.
These parents suck because that kid may end up being traumatized for this. He is so young that no matter how much you tell him it’s pretend, he is still scared.
I really wish that people would stop using their kids in their videos 😡. The fact that the little boy said "Dad did we do it?" tells me all I need to know! Poor kid!!
One possibility for the walking doll is small coil springs located in the hips that kick one leg foreword while the other leg is stationary, and the steps are activated with a slight side to side motion.
It's been one helluva day😢 not good at all; thank you for being part of my YT copium regime😂😂😂❤ much love to you and Mrs.B! Peace and Blessings and rawr!
My theory for the walking doll: Definitely wired and fairly basic. This is something I think a beginner could probably do after watching a couple of tutorials. All mechanics and wires are at the hip. Hip joint is a standard hobby-level rotational servo with an onboard motor. The rotating part is what the leg is attached and the rest is in the bottom wood piece. Since the legs look pretty heavy there's probably also a breadboard with a second power supply and a potentiometer in the hip. All of this would be wired to an Arduino (or possibly a Rasberry Pi - not sure because I've only used Arduino). This would probably be in the hip as well. The breadboard and the Arduino are both pretty flat, so they should fit with no problem. As far as control, I'm pretty sure he's using a Bluetooth press and hold button. If you look at his hand any time the doll starts walking, his thumb on the hand holding the doll presses down, when the doll is stationary his thumb is in a resting position.
A couple more observations: 1) In the first clip of her walking, it sounds like you can hear the joints moving with every step. 2) The wood at the hip is thicker that the wood used at the shoulders, so more room to hide everything.
Yeah the bicycle was being ridden. Get a bike, any bike, and "Ghost" it. The pedals will rotate because the rear sprocket has no resistance pushing against it. Free-spin wheels have a softer clutch in the sprocket but will still catch at slow speeds. That bike has gears and a derailer... a much heavier clutch system so the changing of the gears don't miss teeth when moving up/down the rear sprocket. The pedals did not move. Therefore it had resistance on the sprocket. That shadow change you noticed was the splice, so they could ditch it and run.
He's twisting the arm of the doll upwards to tilt it backwards while also tilting it side to side. The legs have a positive stop to keep them from bending backwards so that when he twists it with the arm the whole body moves, but you're too distracted watching the legs.
I wonder how that poor child is now with parents like his! The guy with the doll frame: Mechanical legs in the way he's moving it. I had a 'walking' doll in the '70's! You're explanations are why you're the best!
When the sleeve is going up, it's reversed. It was actually falling down but the footage is reversed to make it appear as if it's rising up. This also explains the weird jerky movement towards the end.
17:56 - The thin string is attached to the clothing bottom, it goes up and curves and then goes back down towards the floor direction where it's getting pulled from, which is why it jerks weird.
I find it fascinating which genre of horror tickles everyone. For me it's psychological, but I also love the old horrors Alfred Hitchcock, Sci-fi and yes, Hammer Horror classics. I am really loving the dry humour Beardo 😂
I get so happy, especially on a Monday, when I see a new Beardo video!! So the videos of the little boy, they said video cameras were put in the home to monitor the situation, so the clip when he’s playing with the fridge magnets, why was the camera focused right on the little boy. Those cameras are usually in the corner of a room or at least a spot to maximize the amount of space they can see. The guy with the weird walking “doll”, that thing looked like two wee tables attached together, with a doll head attached on the top. I love when you do these!!
I love these kind of videos from you, thanks for the laugh, Beardo. If nothing else, at least these "not ghost" videos had comedy value. Creepiest one was the doll, even though I know its fake. Why are dolls always creepy?? ;)
Whenever you see "CCTV footage", never forget the footage needs to either be displayed somewhere remotely in quasi-real-time or includes 24h-long saved footage, every day. Having high quality vids would make it either impossible or WAY too expensive to do so. High-quality cctv footage is just as much a red flag as a super low quality phone video. Edit: The walking puppet was neat AF, though. I'd 100% traumatize my friends with it.
This is the thing that always annoyed me about Goose Pimples. They'd say shit like "well it can't be faked this way, therefore it can't be faked at all!" How dumb a channel thinks I am is a big factor in whether or not I'll support them.
The walking doll though a little creepy is just another toy with what used to be a cool gimmick. My great grandfather made one for my aunty when she was young. It gave my grand mother the heebeejeebees but aunty loved it.
The doll is some kind of puppet and I believe if you look he’s using his arm to pull it forwards and backwards and rotating at each pull to create the steps. It’s very effective and spooky a bit like when a ventriloquist speaks with their dummy you know they’re doing it but it’s so subtle it’s so good. Now it could be electronics in there but I think it’s more of a push pulls and rotation method. This is definitely one of the better tricks I’ve seen but I’m sure it can be recreated .
The bike in the Shambles was admitted to be a hoax a few years ago as a publicity stunt. As an aside, definitely take a look at Dorian Deathly/The Deathly Dark Tours. Very good ghost tales while still keeping an open mind about science. I also had a "walking" doll as a kid, not quite as fluid motion as the clip, but it likely has a similar mechanism.
The skull painting you have ,i would love to be able to order one for my daughter bedroom, she saw it a few weeks ago and loved it, i normally watch and listen to you when im cleaning the rabbits and guinea pig room, the night she saw i was watching you on the tv,

I was terrified for the kid’s safety it reminded of the Poltergeist I genuinely thought the child would be sucked into the T.V. I was sure the clown would make an appearance along with the weird voiced medium.
I think the doll is all about leverage. You can see how he pushes a little in one direction to get the near leg to rock forward then twists slightly and pulls to get the far leg to lift and slide forward.
I was just looking for someone seeing the same thing. It's mechanical through the guy..he twists and levers the arm for sure. It would hav been amazing if he didn't touch it at all
the dust in that TV HAS the trail left by the strings when they pushed the board hahahahaha Also, did that family lives in the 90's? they have only old stuff, an old radio, old speakers, old tv, old table
Hi sir in the 60s there was a doll called 'Big Girl Betty' she would walk along side you when you held her hand, so all these walking dolls are very old hat. Hope you and your family are good, love to all x
Beardo no wonder I'm scared of you lol. Seriously though I'm a big Marvel Fan some DC with Superman overseeing it all. I also watched Hammer House of Horror with my nan and grandad. The House That Bled To Death my fav
The walking doll solved..... Can you remember the dolls that flop with your thumb, I make props. He's using pressure with his thumb to make it sway not walk.
I seriously LOVE that you do these breakdowns. I love learning what to look for when i come across these clips. Editing to add: 28:20 who honestly has a camera set up on the floor like that? Only if they're prepping for a scene lol
I think the bike was parked on a slight incline and wasn't locked. So it gathered a small bit of speed, then hit the kerb and fell over. Simple physics.
In regards to the doll, it's technical but simple. The motor/control mechanism is hidden in the head with corroborating wires running through the struts/structure of the doll. I mean I am certain anyone specializing in animatronics could pull this off quite simply. ::::::::edit:::::::: Beardo addresses this very point lol caught me commenting while watching lol!
The moving doll part-to me it seems like a form of puppetry, and the pressure used by holding the hand and starting to walk could cause the doll to move “on its own.”
What is up with the phantom hearts timecode? It doesn't show all the numbers nor does it move at a consistent pace, it skips numbers in its counting. Seems to me it is something added in post.
You can tell the static on the first TV is an overlay as the edges are not clean, it overlaps at the top but is flush at the bottom. Dirty edges was an instant giveaway. Also, people that torment their kids for social media clout should not be parents. Nightmares and PTSD for likes and subscribes anyone?!
For the videos where they used their own kid for views (disgusting) they just happened to have cameras setup in the weirdest locations. The one with the fridge is from the right side, the next one is moved to conveniently keep more of that side out of frame, right where someone would hide to move the letters.
For the chandelier one, each time something moves, one of the girls has one of their hands under the table. Could be a coincidence, but personally I don't think so. Put that together with the fact we can barely even see their faces the quality is so low, and what Beardo was saying about how they kept looking as if they were waiting for something to happen, I personally think it's very much faked.
Walking dolls of that size have been available since the 1950s. All of them use the same trick, you hold their hand and it off balances them causing a leg to swing , you move your hand a bit to balance it which overcompensates and causesw the other leg to swing. Awesome! Close to what I just commented before I saw your comment. With your historical context it's even more likely to work exactly as you suggest. I do think however that the legs are connected and powered by a wound-up rubber band.
I definitely had one in the 80s, and I’m almost certain my engineer father had a very close look and showed me how it worked.
Yeah I just commented it’s like a simplified strandbeest. It’s simple physics but it throws the eye off because it’s unexpected.
Edit: apparently your simpler explanation is indeed correct! these dolls worked without the need of any mechanism to power the legs (based on other commenters) like the wound-up rubber band I suggested.
Absolutely loved this old-fashioned "let's try to debunk together with the viewer" video! THANK YOUUUU and see you in the next one!

yes I thought maybe the man pulling the arm on the doll was somehow winding up a mechanism of some sort. There are old toys you can do that with

Yes, thats what i saw too, if you notice the guy's movement he twists the arm slightly and the doll moves.

It would hav been amazing if he didn't touch it at all
🤣🤣🤣 sounded like an impression of Gollum! I’m dying! 😂
Poor kid. The doll is a walking doll. I have an old one that was my mom's from the 1950s.
the dust in that TV HAS the trail left by the strings when they pushed the board hahahahaha Also, did that family lives in the 90's? they have only old stuff, an old radio, old speakers, old tv, old table
Aww man I love spiderman so much he’s my favourite comic character! Do you think he could make me one like that and could you put me in touch ?
If your a fan of the universal monsters you gotta plan a trip to the upcoming Epic Universe/ dark universe with all the universe monsters!!
Hi sir in the 60s there was a doll called 'Big Girl Betty' she would walk along side you when you held her hand, so all these walking dolls are very old hat. Hope you and your family are good, love to all x
i think mr grey covered the one with the bike but i can't remember what he said that caused it to roll on it's own
Didn't he say you can see the shadow of a person pushing it? They forgot to mask that out?
Beardo no wonder I'm scared of you lol. Seriously though I'm a big Marvel Fan some DC with Superman overseeing it all. I also watched Hammer House of Horror with my nan and grandad. The House That Bled To Death my fav
The doll is moved by rocking from side to side, the leg off the ground swings forward.
29:42 look at the reflection in the bottom part of the refrigerator and you see a human shape reflection in the hallway.😂😂😂
The scariest thing in this video was that TV. I had one like that too. Heavy as f*ck.
The walking doll solved..... Can you remember the dolls that flop with your thumb, I make props. He's using pressure with his thumb to make it sway not walk.
The clip with the bike looks like it was someone's movie they made for school
My brother does exactly that, it looks like his work. Nice!
31:25 I’ve seen that EXACT style of doll on slapped scam’s channel a couple of years ago. It’s just intricate mechanics. Cool design though.
i had to change my underwear because of how scared i was watching this
We'll,at least CRADLE OF FILTH had a reference.
He's rocking it enough to get the legs to move. Had a doll like this many many years ago
I think the walking doll is in the arm. It looks like he's slightly turning the arm to make it turn
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO BEADO👍👍👍👍👍👍📹😊
The Shambles video looks like the street in the museum, not the actual shambles
For the videos where they used their own kid for views (disgusting) they just happened to have cameras setup in the weirdest locations. The one with the fridge is from the right side, the next one is moved to conveniently keep more of that side out of frame, right where someone would hide to move the letters.
Im not scared of pocket ringing my ex, let them listen to what they missed out on 😂.
Love it, great debunking
For the chandelier one, each time something moves, one of the girls has one of their hands under the table.
Could be a coincidence, but personally I don't think so. Put that together with the fact we can barely even see their faces the quality is so low, and what Beardo was saying about how they kept looking as if they were waiting for something to happen, I personally think it's very much faked.
