    I think your storage idea for thin dies is Perfect!!!!! and I bet with some adjustments I can also use this for cling stamps!!!! Thank you soooooooooo much for making your video!!!!!! You are right-you do not use all of your "stuff" if you do not know where it is. I spend most of my time looking for my supplies and by the time I find it all I am too tired to do a craft!!! I am going to use your system. You are so creative, thank you again!

    I know this is an older video but it is new to me and I love it! Not only do you offer such a cool way to store these, you also give different options so what works for one may not work for another but you’ve got the other covered too! Hope that makes sense. I really like that you also offer such economical ideas. I’ve seen a video or two where I would have to spend way too much. Yours is perfect for most of us who craft for fun and do not have a lot of $$ to spend. This also gave me inspiration for organizing my rubber stamps. I cannot thank you enough. Bless you!

    Oh my goodness! I have been racking my brain for a way to store my dies and just haven't found the perfect organization method for me.....until I came across this video! I love this idea and the seasonal washi tape is the icing on the cake. Thank you for solving my dilemma!!!!

    Some EXCELLENT ideas, thank you!!! I'm putting my metal dies on magnetic sheets in binders, and bought my magnetic sheets from a magnet sheet company, not a crafts company, and I was able to buy a thicker magnet sheet that is stronger, plus it came with a sticky back. I'm totally loving how mine are turning out. I'm taking my stamps and dies out of organizing by company to theme--sentiments--faith-based, thank you, sympathy, etc then flowers, etc. And for stamp sets that have matching dies, I'm either putting the dies on another card that I put with the stamp set or if there are just a few or even one die, then I'm taking the strips that were extra after the 8.5 by 11" sheets were cut and I am using those for the back of my stamps. I am using the original packaging that came with my stamps (for those that I kept it, for others I'll be using chipboard--was thinking thick cardstock before watching this but you convinced me that chipboard would work better, thank you!!!) to give some stability. Had I not started using binders for my stamps and dies several years ago, I probably would have gone with your system in folders, but I will use the binders I already have and some I am re-purposing that I had from other uses that I no longer need.
    I am SO EXCITED to remember stamps and dies I'd forgotten I had!!! :)
    One thing, I just bought from Costco (it's just before school starts, so more school supplies are available) a set of 20 clear pockets that are 8.5 by 11" size, and they open with a ziplock-type zipper and they come in 4 different colors, so I plan to color-code. I will keep paper scraps, and parts to kits together, etc in binders too. These were 20 large, clear pockets for $8.99 Canadian (I live in Canada), likely they are available at Costco in the US too. A GREAT deal and I am always looking at what I see from the vantage point of organizing my crafts, but I'm looking for items that are not made by a crafts company, because they are cheaper this way.
    I too am a huge Anna Griffin fan, LOVE her dies and embossing folders, and I have some of her stamps too!!!
    LOVE your name, for people know you are a person of faith just as I am!!! I hope to start my own blog and I want to come up with a good name for it, still thinking... :)
    Thanks so much for all that I have learned from you on your TH-cam channel, I am assuming you have a blog, I need to look it up. I have a tiny gallery on SCS (Splitcoaststampsers) under 905lovestostamp... Just wanted to express my appreciation to you, I apologize that this is so long...
    Hoping that you have a very blessed day today,
    Joanne

    I bought 5 dozen 8 1/2 x 11 Oriental Trading Magnetic Sheets. I use the cardboard from Fancy Feast cases (free at the Pet Store). I've been covering the cardboard with patterned paper to match the dies & using smaller pieces of the magnets I like the washi tape at the top & have been unsure about whether I want to label each card, as it becomes too intricate & requires more time for organization as you are using the system, so the washi tape streamlines that into simple groupings, which I like much better. My system is very similar to this system. I store them by subject in the large plastic greeting card containers (Recollections). Thank you for sharing your tips and system. It encourages me greatly!

    OK went to Oriental Trading today May 3, 2017 bought 4 sets of 12 8 1/2 x 11 magnet sheets at $19.99 for a total of $79.96, then went to Amazon (I too am a Prime Member) There were lots of options but went with 4 sets of by Silhouette Of America brand 25 sheets of chipboard 12x12 for $7.35 each for a total of $31.16 including sales tax Free shipping I have lots of washi tape to play with so the total cost is $111.12 and I divide that by 96 and these will cost $1.16 each.....with 4 pieces of chip board left to do what ever with.... Love it.and am now awaiting my things so that I to can organize my dies!!! Thanks for such a wonderful and well worked out system!!!

      I saw your update, but I prefer your original system for my needs. I am beyond satisfied with the cost per unit and the simplicity of assembly.... while it may appear to be cheaper to run 20 times to 15 different dollar stores for your sheets my time and gas money would add up quickly as time wasted not crafting. Thanks so much for the up date.... I am beyond happy with doing one stop shopping.

    Brilliant! I use the extra thick (60 mil) 8 " X 10" nagnetic sheets from Amazon. They are awesomely strong (nothing metal will slip off) but *expensive.* (5 sheets for $16.79) Due to the cost, I trim a piece just big enough to store one of dies.... every set of dies uses a different size. Your system is excellent for its color coding, uniformity of size, and price. Thank you so much for sharing it. Sandy

    Just happened upon your video. I already have a system with the plastic sleeves but I find that your method makes more sense in that the larger area will actually decrease storage footprint so I can have multiple similar dies together instead individually stored. You're right in that if you don't see it easily, you won't use it. Thank you for the Oriental Trading info. Just ordered myself a few sets.

I am currently rethinking my options and love the idea of adding the magnetic sheet to chipboard for stability and having a top border to label/identify the contents. Great organizational tip. I did something similar about five years ago. But I used the back from paper packs instead of chip board (free), used 50% off coupons to buy five packs of magnetic sheets from Michael's (reg, price $9.99). I have four large three ring binders (reg. price $10.99 marked down 70% off) with 10-12 sheets each. Have had to replace a couple of the sheets because of the weight (flipping pages). Plus the binders are heavy now since I've added dies over the years. Your system deserves some serious consideration! Thanks a lot.

    Hi! Great Minds do think alike. I also use the magnetic sheets from Oriental Trading. They are not the strongest magnet sheets, but the price is right. I have found that the most critical step is to ensure that the chipboard you mount it to is substantial enough to stabilize the magnet sheet. I couldn't find the chipboard I wanted so I bought a pad of heavy paper stock intended for watercolors. I purchased the pad at Michaels when it was on sale for 40% off. Very pleased by the result. I LOVE your idea of the tape across the top. This is definitely the finishing touch I needed. Thank you!

    I LOVED your system, but wanted to add a "take-away" element, for going out to work. I didnt want to purchase envelopes, so I used an A-7 Envelope DIE from Ellison (Sizzix parent co.) and 12 gauge clear vinyl from JoAnns (sale 50% off by the yard, and used my We are Memory Keepers Fuse weld tool to finish the envelopes. The vinyl sticks to itself somewhat, so the flap will stick down in the container. The dies are visible and there is very little chance of them getting lost while traveling. Thanks for a great idea!

  • @Spicifiy1
    @Spicifiy1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow! This is brilliant. Right now I've got mine on magnetic vent covers (Amazon 8"x15" 3 pack $4.97) but haven't mounted them on chipboard (I got a almost full gallon Elmer's All-Purpose at a junk store for about $2.50). I keep my Spellbinders in their new attractive small packets that has all the relevant info on the front of the package. For my Sizzix thinlits, I put the magnet sheet in a 5""X8* plastic bag with cardstock backing. It still takes up a lot of room though & it's hard to find storage to house the size (I keep needing to up-size). The washi & cut shapes as dividers are ingenious.

    I got the Stamp-N-Storage cubbie for my Copics this Christmas from my husband. I wanted some coordinating storage pieces for my dies, etc., so I went to their site... well, I am too picky with my money to spend what they were charging! I have been struggling for several years on how to store my dies and you showed me how to store them the simplest way and more than 4 times less space in fast was going to sell a bunch at garbage sale cause of the room it took but not now. I have been trying to use magnets but kept falling off but with the ticket pouches it is great. Now got to work on stamps

    Totally love this idea. Can I have half of your dies? LOL You have some amazing dies and I really like this system. Right now I have mine in binders, divided by companies. But I could see where that would be cumbersome for someone with as many dies as yourself. Plus I'm always worried that I'm going to loose them when I take more than one or two out at time. So the cards you made would be an effective relief for that problem because they could go right back on the card. TFS ~ God Bless, Sherry

    Fantastic! I am VERY new to card making ( made a few for Christmas that I'm not thrilled about but am learning) and my dies are just in a drawer so this will help a lot. Don't know if poster board is good enough for the backing paper or not ($1 store). I have one of those 3 drawer plastic "bins" to put stuff in but it is just a mess. One drawer for paper, one for dies/stamps (

      Most welcome and welcome to the world of card making. I have had that poster board but I can't remember the thickness. You could use cereal box though or board from other type of food packaging. I started off using those plastic drawers and they are great and even come in different colors now. I spent this summer reorganizing and my crafting life is so much more free. You really don't need a lotto craft but you did need organization. This system is a great way to get your dies organized. Let me know how it works out. Blessings...

      Another thought... The Dollar Tree has plastic cutting mats 3/$1. There are different colors you could use for different themes.
      As of 12/30/15 the magnetic sheets are 12/$11.50 ...still less expensive from craft store or Wally's.

    I have many thin dies (mostly Spellbinders), not as much as you, but enough to become a headache when it comes to storage. I did get the magnetic sheets from OT and taped them to cardstock, I didn't use cardboard because the weight. Then I put each die set on its own magnetic sheet inside a sheet protector and all in binders. I said binders because when you add those metal dies with magnetic sheets and cardstock the binder turns very heavy for me. I love your box idea, but same problem for me is the weight. I will add thr color/theme washi tape to my system. It will make very easy to spot the type of die I need to use without going through the whole binder.
    Thank you so much for your great ideas.
    PS. Where do you find the codes or coupons for free shipping on OT? They have a minimum purchase of $49 to get free shipping. Thanks again.

    • @biblescraps
      @biblescraps  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Naticris Tellavi You know We R memory keepers just came out with a magnetic binder system. I understand weight and you do have to customize to fit needs as my box is very heavy and using the chipboard adds weight. Please show a picture (if you can) of the system with washi tape as I haven't seen that yet. Oriental trading has coupons available throughout the year usually during holidays. During the time I completed my storage system coupons were available left and right. Do a google search for free shipping codes and see what comes up. Thank you for subscribing and all your comments on different videos. Blessings...

    Love your idea! Now, if I can just get around to doing it. I have been using magnet sheets (the pricey ones that you can run through a laser jet printer) by taping the magnet sheet cut to size to fit the die folder my dies came in. Not handy and they tend to slip out of the folder. - Where do you keep your container? It looks like it would be too heavy to put on a shelf unless it was reinforced. Sure do appreciate your sharing! I have to look at more of your videos - I just happened across your site by accident. Thanks!
