Edelman! I remember watching this game. The Pats were steam rolling every team they played, especially the second half of the season. They creamed the Jets 45-3 earlier that season and beat about 7 other playoff teams that year too. Iv'e always wondered why they looked like a COMPLETLEY different team this game. What did the Jets do defensively to throw their offense off so much? Get into the X's and O's!
This will forever be a classic, for the Welker comical, rapid fire foot references press interview and subsequent benching for the Pats first possession of that game.
Go Jets! I remember watching this game at a dominoes on Camp Pendleton when I was in the Marines. Never expected them to win but sure glad we did! That Jets team had alot of toughness and grit 💪

As a Pats fan, I thought it might’ve been over after this. We hadn’t won a playoff game since San Diego in the afc championship. I thought we had lost our clutch gene. Glad I was wrong and we were back in the Super Bowl next February and appeared in four more after that, winning three.
I think the 2021 National Championship was one of the best games ever. Georgia finally get a Natty for the first time in 4 decades despite being so close so many times. It was also special because they were able to beat the team (Bama) that held them back so often. Plus the game itself was just really fun to watch
Divisional games have a high chance of being epic. So many possible outcomes and situations. They play twice a year, its for a top spot ant it can two power house teams or your trying to spoil a playoff spot for a rival! Good times. GO DOLPHINS!
Are you a jackal? 🤨🐾 Kesha's single was released in 2009, but the album it's on (Animal) was released in 2010. The single hit #1 in January 2010. If you ask Google when the song was released, it says 2010.
@@brendan74 It's likely b/c last game of season, playoffs & the Super Bowl fell into the next calendar year (2011) for the 2010 season. Hence, far more specific to refer to any Super Bowl by its Roman numerals, but don't have that alternative nomenclature for Wild Card weekend, Divisional games, nor the AFC & NFC Championships. Similar issue with CFP now. The Championship was played in 2024 (January 8th), as were some Bowl games (e.g. Rose Bowl & Sugar Bowl on January 1st). Can’t Wait! became Cant Tackle the next week. Bart had more missed tackles Vs the Steelers than he did the entire season. Brutal. Guys thought the win the Super Bowl the week before
My son was born, literally coming out of the womb, as the clock counted down to zero during the game the following week 😂 I might be the most cursed Jets fan ever.
This was near the end of the decade long drought without winning a Super Bowl. I am curious about the few tweaks/adjustments that were made that propelled them from very good to great. I would say that Julian Edelman is actually noticeably bigger than Wes Welker, Danny Woodhead, or Deion Branch. Amendola also has a bigger frame than those guys. Besides Brandin Cooks, you didn’t really see any guys that were nearly as small as WW, DW, & DB. Those guys were great players. Explosive, made a lot of plays. But back in that era, being that small, there were just gonna be some shots they couldn’t get up from. Julian Edelman took that monstrous hit from Kam Chancellor, quickly sprung to his feet, and kept running. KC was the one hurting after that play. You can see KC adjusting his helmet because his head was ringing like a bell. Welker ain’t getting up from that hit or holding on to the ball. Then guys like James White and Rex Burkhead did similar things to Woodhead but they had a lot more size. They had quickness but they could also break tackles. Woodhead didn’t have the size to break many tackles. Y’all also went back to having some sizable backs to wear down defenses. Legarrette Blount seems like he was used similarly to Corey Dillon. Did the 2010 team have a guy like Devlin? Going into Super Bowl vs Seahawks, I liked Patriots chances. I wouldn’t have said that about the 2010 or 2011 team.
Ocho was not washed when he came to New England. Oregon State and the Cincinnati Bengals didn’t run plays for Ocho, they just told him to go out there and get open and they’d get him the ball and since his talent was so elite, it would work. But the Patriots didn’t and won’t ever function that way, so now you’re asking an NFL veteran, who has NEVER had plays structured or coaching structure in his career and he’s being asked to do this on the greatest team to ever play…it was a recipe for disaster.
What a terrible game! When are you going to do the 2001 AFC Division Playoff game between the Pats and Raiders? Last game ever at the old Foxboro Stadium, and one of the most significant wins in Patriots history. The organization he runs is top notch. Where ours is run by a lying buffoon.
