Man, thank you for this video! This was a really well put together guide, I learned a lot more than I was expecting about Vanguard. My combos are really bad compared to yours, but now I see what I was missing and can't wait to start labbing him more. I just started learning Vanguard, and well DnF Duel in general, and this guide was one of the most helpful I've seen so far, seriously. Easy to follow, well-spoken, and thorough. No problem, happy you’re gonna use it! Different characters have different guard break values btw, so there will be slightly different routes for a character like Striker as opposed to a character like Berserker. (Usually either ending with the drill or ending with the shoulder charge is the main difference)
see the thing about this guide that separates it from the rest ive seen is the amount of detail and explaining that helps sooooo much and not boring, i usually try to find the big “combo structure “ when learning a character to help me evolve from that point and so in this guide where he explains what can go into what and how it works in certain situations hellllpppss so much its just the fun facts that you include that some guides lack just help alot instead of just showing the notations and what every super does and wrapping it up. you going through the cracks and crevices earned you a new sub my friend keep it up🖤👍🏽

I’ve been messing with vanguard for a bit and it hurts that people honestly think he’s bottom of the barrel. I’ve been seeing issues with his super usage and a lot of combos depend on his distance for his aerial ms beings so core for follow up and his Gatling being a little janky. His DP is tragic and honestly he suffers from being forced to guard cancel to get rushdown characters off him and his mixup isn’t existent. Despite this and his awakening being a little lackluster I still think he is an extremely satisfying character (and his aesthetic is completely badass tbh), and I hope his issues get the Faust treatment.
Yeah a friend of mine thought he was the worst character, which I don’t personally agree with but he definitely has plenty of clear weaknesses, like the ones you mentioned. I do think that at the very least, what he’s good at (damage and guard break) needs to be buffed to match other characters, otherwise everyone else needs to be toned down and that’s never fun. (Nerfs should still happen for a few characters though.) And I just put up a mini-guide for using Conversion with Vanguard for some of those distance and spacing issues! His combos can benefit a ton if conversion is available, and for him it’s almost necessary to utilize the mechanic. Converting really helps make every hit count. Makes him feel even more satisfying than he already does!
@@darthlugia he fits a niche, but from the mixed reviews of DNF and just the tool box of the top tiers it’s almost like surface level deductions. I hate week 2-3 tier lists the game is barely figured out
I love the character as well. So far his weaknesses haven’t kept me from enjoying him, though I am very ready for when and if he does get buffed and he feels even better to play!
@@darthlugia I definitely still play him as well, but as time has went by he's easily been figured out and his weaknesses are easily exploited, like the terrible frame data on 5B

They need to seriously buff Vanguard, he's pretty trash. I love the character though
