Thanks Mike. I connected my 4ga wire from the Renogy controller to the circuit breaker behind the driver's seat today. Then I measured an approximate amount of distance needed to run another 4ga from my breaker to the positive terminal of my battery. I don't think I want to play with the wire from my battery that's connected to that fuse block under the driver's seat. It would've been a big help if I could've run the 4ga into the engine compartment through the passenger side of the van, but I didn't see any way. There is a large grommet on the driver's side though, and that's where I'll go and cross the engine compartment.
That stove will come in handy on some bad weather trips! I like how everything is coming together, my roof vent finally came in so hopefully I’ll be doing that this week
I figured the same thing with regards to the stove. I'll do most of my cooking outside when possible and for those days when you want to hunker down inside, I can do it. Everything is so expensive so I may tone things down a bit. It doesn't take long to go through a hundred here, a couple hundred there. I use my roof vent all of the time. With a black van, it doesn't take long to warm up inside lol, but it really isn't bad with the rigid foam insulation. That roof vent though works great!
@@ADKOverlandNY I think I made the decision that I don’t need to have it completely finished to start using it, it has pluming it has power, a place for a bed etc I think I’m going to work on getting it mechanically sound and start using it while I finish the build
thanks Mike. It's getting there, but I may take a break with it since I've spent an awful lot of money so far. Everything is so expensive and adds up quickly!
@@ADKOverlandNY yeah everything’s expensive Jeff, my wife bought a 16‘ x 4‘ the pool at Walmart on sale for 400 bucks but by time she installed it it was 4000 because of all the regulations of the neighborhood and the city we had to put a fence around it we had to put it on a pad. We bought an upgraded pump so that $400 pool, being 10 times as much and it took her eight weeks to put it in so we’re not gonna be able to swim this year
Hey Jeff! Have you been to the Erie Canal? I've always wanted to see it. I've seen some videos and it looks like something I would enjoy.. We have the Ozarks here in Missouri.. lots of streams to float and canoe. And very old mountains that are about 3600' tall. Have a good day..
Hi Mike - believe it or not, there are so many places here in NY that I haven't been. My conversion process has been slow trying to find or afford material but I'm getting there! The Erie Canal is one place I haven't seen yet though!
Foresty Forest, has a video with his Renogy van install that might help you. The title is, Van Life in BC - Get Out There... and Up There!
