My riding style: Acoustic hybrid bike for road and groomed trails, a Trek Powerfly 5 for the mountains. The Specialized model you were riding looks very slick.
Great bike. E-bikes are the way of the future. Impressive range and looks like it handles great. Would love to have one for road riding and a Specialized Turbo Levo MTB for singletrack. Price tag on e-bikes is still way to high IMO. Enjoyed the video!
Pricing is what held me back, but 2021 just felt like the year. On the road commuting to work ect. I want the e-assist to make it easier/more fun and encourage me to do it. I'd totally get a eMTB but at the moment they are too spendy to justify an additional bike considering I think I would want to keep riding my acoustic MTBs for the time being
Unfortunately you are right ebikes are the future as we become a more fat lazy society. Def. some legit uses for them is you are disabled, elderly, can't keep up with people you want to ride with that are faster. So far all I have seen are people on them barely moving the pedals going 15 mph plus while doing next to nothing and being a hazard to others. America what a country if it's not fast and easy it's not worth doing.
Yeah, love when you drop a bit to much $ on a bike and it turns out even better than planned. I am jealous of your eMTB Norco. I havent made that jump yet since eMTBs are hotly contested in my area with limited trail networks. I have been toying with the Trek E-Caliber, but who knows.
Dear God you scared me. At about one min you crossed a sewer grate. I had my front wheel go into one of those once. Launched me. Thanks to my helmet I survived.
That was my first thought. Riding in all that traffic over a sewer grate. No! Would not do that especially on a super expensive e bike flying at speed.

Possibly, I think it's most likely the quieter surroundings and greater load just hearing the motor/internal gearbox make a little noise. I have put another 70 some odd miles on it since this video and I have stopped even noticing the sound

No one local has one, so I might choose to order online but we shall see. Really would like it since I think a 3.5hr 60mi ride is exactly what I'd like out of the bike.
I have the same bike in other colour...how it rides and handle is amazing In my case I really don’t need the battery extender...with a single charge I have 90/100km of autonomy...I’m not planning to ride more than that I don’t use it on gravel...just on the street...if I want to do gravel or offroad I have my MTB Merida BigNine...way more comfortable and the I don’t like the idea of shaking on the rocks a very expensive rigid bike
I have the same bike (in green). As a matter of fact, driving it on gravel is really working well. My 60km ride today with maybe 40 percent of the distance on gravel was perfect. The remaining battery capacity of four bars tells me that I could have driven even longer :-) Very surprising, as my old bike with Panasonic engine needs much more capacity (ok, the Creo is suitable for driving without motor, in contrary to my Panasonic bike...). Anyway, have much fun with this great bike!
It's a beauty! One of the best (neck-in-neck with the Trek Domane+ [HP] -series S-pedelecs). I hope, the range increases by at least threefold (or more) by the time I buy a gravel S-pedelec, in some 10-15 years from now. Would love one for my continental cycle tours (>200 km/day, for a month or two on end, carrying ca. 150kg load, incl. rider, bicycle and luggage). Hopefully, by then ebike battery, drivetrain and circuitry manufacturers have learn a thing or two about the tech from Tesla. Thus, ca. 43 miles (ca. 69km/h) for a system weight of ca. 125kg (presuming here)? Some of it was gravel. On flat tarmac that would make ca. 46-47mph, presumably. That's ca. 75km per charge. With climbs and 30kg. luggage, the range would probably decrease to ca. 50km. or less.
See it's funny, the Trek Domane+ HP was not even a consideration because of how heavy that model is. That is over 50 lb, where mine is sub 30. I did compare this to the Trek Domane+ LT and decided that that had too small of a battery and I really wanted the 28 MPH. One of my good friends bought the Domane+ LT 2 days after I got this one, and I am hoping to do a video with him where we swap bikes and decide who made the right choice.

A much larger battery and perhaps a different motor? Here in Europe, the only type of speed-pedelecs sold are the 30kilo metal junk intended for centenarians - so they can cruise on 45km/h assist -capable grandma or grandpa bikes at 10km/h for a couple of years before "God taketh [their lives] away". On top of that, to ride an s-pedelec in Europe, one needs a license (and an acquiescence to waive adieu to the hundreds or thousand of € one incurs), tnen pay a monthly / yearly tax for ownership of a "dangerous motorised vehicle" (as though it is a car! We know the real reason they do this sh*t - EUrocrats would much rather kick the bucket than stop ripping Europe's apparently replaceable and meant to be replaced population off at will). And - if you're into carbon, into gravel, adventure or road bikes - forget it: your choices will be limited to 25km/h standard -compliant rigs, meaning the battery and the motor will serve a great burden, rather than assist you.
The Domane+ HP uses the Bosce performance line CX motor that is powerful but a boat anchor. It also has a 500wh battery (40% larger than the Creo) and then silly things like kickstands and integrated lights ect. For a road bike it is just a lot. Maybe a good city bike? The Domane+ LT uses a Fazua motor system that is really light and then has a 250wh battery (about 35% smaller than creo) and it weights in at like 32lbs so still a tough heavier than the Creo. The LT is the interesting one, and I am sure Trek will update the HP to be more competitive soon.
Well for a largely overweight person like myself, living in a very hilly area, yes. I have videos on my channel using this down and flat Florida and it would easily get to 80 mi there

@@garypostell5268 Lower the assist and increase the range, of course. The Range Extender is absolutely worth it. I got mine online, no shipping cost, for $414.00. When you're buying a 5-6,500+ bike it's not bad a price.
Technically if your not riding on gravel then your just riding a gravel bike on whatever surface you happen to be on, but your not gravel riding. So gravel riding ends when theres no more gravel.
I wouldn’t ride a bike like that over bumps, rocks and stones. if I wanted a bike that would not fail on the street at 40 mph and hard breaking, Id stick to tarmac and for that terrain id get my mountain bike out with wider tyre’s, lower pressures and front suspension..

I got the turbo Vado SL same battery and motor as the Creo but with a 2 degree slacker head angle , makes it better going downhills etc ...

Nah, no worries about rocks and such. The bike will be just fine.
Specialized is selling this bike as EVO version with front suspension and wide tires. And is working great on this kind of terrain ;-)
