I’ve got a 58 reissue from 2009. Best guitar I’ve ever played, hands down. Custom Shop guitars are the real deal. I have no idea why they’re better, but they just are.
Love the 58 over the 59. Had one. Love the neck. Just got a 54 with the P90s and the chunky neck. Like those even better. CS puts out some great guitars now. But em before they cut costs and get shitty again.
Hey man, I am looking into CS 58 and 59s. I currently have a few USA standard 50s (current line -2019 to present), and I am wondering how the neck on the 58 compares to the current USA standard 50s? I do not mind a think neck but I think thinker than my 50s standards might be a but much for me. Love these guitars, the look and sound fantastic!
@@slashtrio Hey, the neck on these beauties' is simply perfect. It has just the right amount of meat, while it's not too chunky so it plays like butter.
I bought a 58 ri from Walt Grace vintage a little over a year ago. I was able to haggle the price a little because it was a 2022 model and I bought it in 2023. Gibson will raise the prices on these every single year, but you shouldn’t have to pay the “current” price for last years model. They were fair and I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with them again. Agree that this guitar sounds great through that amp.
Man ! TONE! I just picked up one of these babies n been running it through a fender junior or a blackstar h5 and it sounds good . But, the Gremlin blows em away . Same guitar , way better sound. Ears opened. Tone King Gremlin to be found ! Ta.
Custom buckes are great pickups but they are not created to PAF spec . The winding pattern is not the same. The coil wire is poly coated instead of plain enamel wire like Pafs had and the slugs and screws are not correct and the bobbins are ABS Plastic instead of Butyrate bobbins like PAfs had. Very nice sounding pickups and I own a couple of sets and think they are fantastic but they are nowhere close to PAF spec. In a thread on the my les paul forum the product development manager posted a thread answering poeples questions and when directly asked about the origins of custombuckers he revealed that Edwin Wilson created the custombuckers end that they were originally created for the Jimmy Page number 1 les paul replica . So the Custombuckers were formerly known as the Jimmy page custom burstbuckers and it was revealed that Edwin was not trying to create a historically accurate PAF copy but was instead trying to create a pickup that would replicate the tone of very specific guitar and pickup combination
Lots of buzz before the playing started. Also, sounded like music playing in the background during the introduction. Why do these videos just jump into a dirty, overdriven sound? That is the sound of the amp. Need a good clean tone to hear the sound of the guitar. That's what the demo is about after all.

I own this guitar and I must say it's everything you say it is and MORE! 58 over 59, any time! Bourbon Burst takes the cake, of course

Got this guitar and a Tone King Imperial. Hot damn man! Tone for days!
Killer guitar. One of my favorites
Damn that tone! Makes me feel all relaxed inside, just like after eating my mom's pie.
Really hope that isn't a euphemism

That tone reminds me of a hotter Beano tone.

My goodness…..
where is the clean tone
6000+ for a "not really a vintage, aged brand new les paul"? are you crazy?
if you can come in and pick a guitar off the wall and play it should be considerd use
Isn't it out of tune?
