Couple Marries Decades After Meeting at St. Jude During Cancer Treatment

They were once patients at St. Jude Children's Research hospital. Now they're all grown up and married. Lindsey Alsup, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was 10, says back then she found hope in a fellow patient: a boy named Joel. They both beat their cancers, although Joel lost his arm to the disease. They would grow up to work at the hospital that brought them together. Very touching story. The work St. Jude does is amazing. It did come to mind however that they should adopt, as their kids would probably be at a much higher risk for cancer. Just saying. Still I wish them all the best.

I have a sweet story for you. My fiance and I met almost 20 years ago while living in group homes in Arkansas City KS. After we both got out of care we lost track of each other. I went on to marry my first husband and was with him for almost 10 years but in 2013 we got divorced and I was just on Facebook one day when I got a friend request from my now fiance. I had been divorced for about 3 years when we got back in touch. We found that we still had the same feelings we had almost 20 years ago. He then told me that he had been looking for me all this time. I was shocked to say the least. So, last Christmas he asked me to marry him and of course I said yes. We will be getting married in June of next year. My life is perfect with him.

This amazed me greatly before I had a kid and now that I do have one. People might think this is weird but I like to watch these videos because I like medical stuff and this is interesting to me. I also watch these videos to look for the signs or symptoms that something could be dangerously wrong with my child and so when she got sick it was because she had a stomach bug. Her white blood cell count was high because of that and when her dr told me that if I had brought her in and her white blood cell count was high and none of the regular things that they see everyday in kids caused it, it would be cause for concern but everyday I’m praying for these kids and I hope that they get to go home to their families and they get to go to school and get to do what they love most whatever that may be.❤
