CATFISH HOOK TO PAN PART 1

This is the first of two parts on everything catfish...from catching them to cooking and eating them. The first part covers the nuts and bolts of catfish fishing...tackle, bait, techniques, etc. The second part will cover what to do with them after you catch them...handling, filleting, cooking and recipes.

If you follow the typical way to fish for channel cats out here in the west, you won't have as much success, period. Good video. I have pompano floats for floating jigs cause the ones you buy cant float cut bait very good.

You will usually do better for any kind of fishing if you work out the special presentations necessary for fishing specialized conditions. Bobber and jig setups are a good example. I also like to use slip bobbers for making presentations in deeper water....especially when fishing above snaggy bottoms.
