This car didn't perform that well. The seat backs collapsed which puts the front seat occupants at risk of spinal injuries, and the lift gate separated at the top which technically means it failed Standard 207
Chris Hoops the hatch latches did not entirely fail, the rear hatch opens to the side there’s not an actual latch on the roof, its does similar to a side impact where the top of the doors bend open

As you can see, the front passenger seat crumples into the second row... very dangerous for second row passengers (and deadly if it's a child).
This happens to every vehicle in this test dude, getting rear ended at 50mph is pretty extreme.
The rear seat passengers aren't going to be happy, but they're not going to suffer any life ending injuries either.

@Chris Hoops, the rear hatch is a swing gate, it's a side opening door hinged on the left side, not the top.
