She was unequivocally the best Elphaba of the Los Angeles production, and was the finest-acted Elphaba of that entire era. (Fighting words, I know.) Caissie missed around 1/3 of her run in Los Angeles - which was already cut short (I believe she was originally contracted through the end of September - right around when Erin Mackey's LA contract ended) - so I'm not surprised she wasn't part of the regular rotation of Elphaba recycling of the era. She's certainly gone on to bigger things. I've always wished video of her last would have shown up. Her last came unexpectedly, but I was there - and the only individual Elphaba performance I've seen that tops it was Julia Murney's last.
I got really lucky and won the ticket lottery one night when she went on as the understudy (sadly lost that playbill but I think it was her third show). I remember refreshing TH-cam waiting to hear a recording of her last show in LA 🥲🥲🥲. She is such a great performer. I’ve seen almost every major show she’s done on Bway since. I’d kill to see her do wicked agin just once!
Do you remember approximately when that would've been? By my calculation, Caissie did five shows as understudy - July 2nd & 3rd (both filmed) with Kendra Kassebaum during Julia Murney's vacation (July/August 2007 was a time for exceedingly rare Broadway Wicked pairings) - and then the shows on October 23 & 24th with Annaleigh Ashford (there's video highlights of one, and a full audio of one, as well), just before she headed for LA.
Ok I think that's enough for one day.
I’d give so much to hear her do this again 😭
Me too 😭
Same, she NEEDS a wicked comeback
Would be so cool to hear her do this again. Her voice is soooooo strong now 💪
May 11th 2008 has some nice additional lines (or at least ones I've never noticed before) from the brass section!
Ooo I’ve never heard the “solo” from April 2008
Vocally she's a MONSTER, I'm on my knees 😩
pun intended?

Merry xmas king
Don’t think I’ve ever heard that April 2008 recording before (if I have, I don’t remember)! That “solo” riff did something to me
It's from the rare Cassie Elphaba / Adam Lambert video

@@andrewdittmar361it was with Annaleigh, so it was probably one of the October dates.
@@s0undstrulycrazy So probably the 23rd/24th :)
Where did u find the picture at 2:00?

That's from Lindsay K. Northen's Glinda put-in in 2007 when she and Caissie were both understudies! Lindsay had it on an old website for a long time!
