Rest in peace John Webb. I used to love mountain biking with John when I was a teenager and I was devastated to hear he had passed away. He was the fittest old fella up the hills every Sunday and his dry sense of humour could cut down the Whittiest of characters with one quick saying 😊 I miss you Webby !

I was at abike meeting in 1970 when a rider and his bike went flying over the banking at Tower, as they bundled the rather mangled rider into an old ambulance the St Johns were comforting him by telling him his bike was alright......liars it was completely wrecked!
Never a word so true. I once fell at the chicane and ended up against the railway sleeper wall. An over-enthusiastic St. John's Ambulance volunteer grabbed me around the chest from behind and lifted me bodily over the barrier. I was very pleased that I didn't have a spinal injury. John Nesbitt
