Yea, BTS! For a completely different sound from them (because they are incredibly diverse) check out Black Swan. It's about the fear of losing passion for the art you once loved to create. They were inspired to write it from a quote by Martha Graham. "A dancer dies twice -- once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful." It is mostly in Korean, so you'll need CC on.

63 year old BTS fan here. ....I can join you in the wine...lol. This is one of their more "pop" songs, but they have an incredible variety of genres from R & B, rap, electronica, EDM, ballads, rock....you name it, they do it (and they do it well). They are the most humble artists I have ever encountered and despite the fact they have worked their butts off for 10 years to get where they are, they give all the credit for their success to their fandom (refreshing because so many artists forget who got them to the top). They and their fandom do unbelievable charity work worldwide and their music has themes of self love, anti violence and bullying, female empowerment, mental health care, fighting against social injustice and so much more. They give me hope for the future and I promise you they are worth exploring further. Thanks for your sweet reaction.

Thank you for being open to a different genre. As other ARMYs (BTS fans) have said, BTS has a variety of genres. They enjoy and are influenced by many artists. Their three all-English songs (Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance) were chosen because of their bright poppy feel; all were produced and released during the pandemic. The members wanted to put out something to brighten our day. While these three songs are very catchy, they are not the reason this 60-something year old fell for them. It is the thought and depth of their lyrics of most of their other songs---the songs they have written and produced. Now, I am off to explore your other videos. Edit: You have listened to a range of music, many that I listen to. I noticed that you want to see good videos, as well as the music. BTS pays attention to even the small details of their videos. There are arching storylines, and Easter eggs. (An Easter egg in Butter, the first young man at the beginning kisses the back of his hand. He is kissing his ARMY tattoo, later all of the other members do so as well. BTS is always doing a shoutout to their fans. Sorry, I digressed.) I think you will enjoy watching BTS videos. Someone has requested Black Swan, and I will second that. "ON" MV is what drew me down the rabbit hole. Enjoyed your reaction and glad you liked the song☺️. Its clear that you appreciate and respect different artists in this channel. Not sure if others fully explained to you BTS has so far only 3 full English songs. Dynamite and Butter were written by western writers (but RM rewrote the rap verses in Butter) and Permission To Dance was written by Ed Sheeran. Oh and the song “My Universe” is an English Korean song -a collab with Coldplay who have repeatedly publicised their admiration for BTS artistry as have several other Western artists who know full well these boys are not manufactured and their fans are not manipulative dishonest people. I get that some cannot understand why millions worldwide across generations from over 90 countries love them. I respect anyone not liking their music but not if they make sweeping statements..(this is not directed at you😉) If you do dive in more I hope you have a listen to their other songs recommended in the comments that they wrote themselves from their own experiences and some even were written to call out social and political injustices. 😊💜

Love you Cash but channel need more foundation band to get a solid bass of subs Sabbath Zeppelin Floyd Metallica Stone Queen Rush Who Aerosmith Van Halen Hendrix etc. For instance BTS is teenibopper fangirl group who do not have the attention span to support a laidback chill channel with a classy sassy foxy lady like yourself as host. Whereas fans of these band like myself have a similar mindset and life experience to relate appreciate a woman such as yourself. Please don't get me wrong love your reaction because it you I'm here to see.
A very polished and diversely talented group, who fused rap, pop, soul with a dance-based "Michael Jackson" style choreography. To be honest, this group was not my cup of tea, as they struck me first and throughout as being a very packaged and commercially synthesized Group, which to me remains contrary to the creative process But your reaction was energized, enthusiastic, full of excitement and done very well. Therefore, all at all, I enjoyed the viewing. Thanks much
I just want to mention while yes BTS was put together I don't know if I could call them a packaged group. BTS creator and former CEO of their company said he didn't want BTS to be like other kpop groups. he wanted the boys (whose ages ranged from 15-20 at the time, they debuted in 2013) to have creative freedom and tell their own personal stories through their music (which many kpop groups still don't have creative freedom). BTS came from a small and almost bankrupt company in South Korea where all 7 members had to share a bedroom and now that same company over 8 years later because of BTS success is now worth billions and BTS is the biggest group in the world. BTS initially started out as a hiphop group and 2 of the members were underground rappers in South Korea before joining BTS. Many of their peers looked down on them for joining a kpop group basically calling them sell outs. But when asked why they did this they just responded we wanted people to hear our music. Butter doesn't really show off just how versatile they are. They do so many genres hiphop, pop, edm, pop/rock, rap, jazz, neo-soul, latin, rnb and they speak on many subjects that are especially taboo in South Korea. They have plenty of songs where they address mental health, self love, loss, economic inequalities, societal expectations/injustices, women empowerment, and so much more. There were a couple of times when BTS was close to being banned because of the content of their songs. A few of the members also play instruments and some are learning how to play instruments. The members are heavily involved in the writing and/or production for most of their songs (they have over 250 songs). The 3 rappers in the group all have well over 100 songwriting credits each. Butter and BTS other fully English songs were just meant to be fun uplifting songs because of the pandemic, which is not a true representation of BTS music as a whole (also keep in mind only 1 member out of the 7 members speaks English fluently). Not to mention they all have done their own solo work with 3 of them having their own solo mixtapes (where they are more explicit with their lyrics), but all 7 of them have solo songs too, so they aren't confined to just doing songs as a group and can show off their own individual styles too. There are hundreds of boy groups in South Korea so BTS has to have something different than most groups to conquer the world like they have. And they've all expressed they want to be apart of BTS for as long as possible.
Hi there Brian, yes a lot of people have this impression of kpop hence misguided impression of BTS. Unlike most kop groups, BTS writes and produces. Eg, BTS member RM, songwriter/rapper/producer, mentioned he wrote about 80% of the lyrics for one of their albums, mentioned weeping during writing process of Black Swan (a good one for you to check out to instantly get a glimpse of their versatility, as their works cover many genres). The three recent all-English songs are considered a depart from the arc of their previous work which has themes not only within each album but themes that traverse throughout the albums consecutively,.... Like I said, the three recent English songs are considered by many BTS to be a depart from their almost 300 songs which, are revered for incredible lyricism and artistry. Unlike most kpop groups, BTS writes and produces their music. They became globally huge while singing and rapping *in Korean*, and I've read countless testimonies of people who say BTS saved them when they were suicidal, or helped them get through a most difficult time, healed them. By being vulnerable and sharing in their lyrics their struggles including mental health issues, they've helped many feel less alone.
Hi Cash, hope you're having a great weekend. I have to say I'm struggling with these unusual suspects. I have a feeling I'm not in the target demographic for this song - but I do hope Margaret and Julia get a kick out of this reaction. According to computer, there's some controversy with the download sales, because much of their chart success topping the Billboard Hot 100 for multiple weeks with this song last year was down to their fans ability to download multiple copies through BTS's webstore, and using crowdfunding efforts from fans worldwide to boost US-only sales. However, an article in The Korea Times pushed back on the charge of chart manipulation by pointing out that artists like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande have used similar promotional measures, that they were neither illegal or unethical, and that their fans were merely "intelligent consumers leading global trends". I'm sorry BTS, but I know when my intelligence is being insulted, and for me this is just another reason why popular music has been in a steady decline since the creative zenith of the 1960s. Deep regret, but empty glass from me.
@@cherylreichardt - I didn't want to unload on them completely, but I did think they were like seven Korean Michael Jacksons performing Smooth Criminal. I tend to scream because of boy bands, rather than at them. Another 'like' for use of the word "fab".
Hey Dave, I can see how all that left a sour taste in your mouth. I get it. But for years western media worked hard to create a false narrative about who BTS is and what they're capable of. They refused to give them radio play or any respect, despite their millions of fans around the world of all ages, races, genders, and demographics. (I'm 43 and NEVER been into boy bands.) Fans created a groundswell to finally get them the respect they really do deserve. This song (and their other English songs) are not representative of all their work, and only get radio play because they're in English. Their best songs are not in English, and those are the real award-winning pieces IMO. It's easy to cast them as the newest boy band craze with only fluff to offer, an eye-rolling act that will die off in a few months. I did the same thing when I heard of them a few years back. And I was so wrong. They are humble artists who have been grinding for ten years, and they actually started as a hiphop group. They write, produce, direct, act, rap, dance, sing, and are musicians. They are philanthropists with campaigns through UNICEF and have spoken at the United Nations at least three times. And yes, they have some crazy fans (I honestly avoid a lot of them myself), but that passionate support is there for a reason. The same way people lost their minds over the Beatles singing I Want to Hold Your Hand -- if that was all people knew about the Beatles, they would have a very wrong impression of them. This particular song was just meant to be feel-good fun during the pandemic. I hope you don't completely discount them and ignore their 300+ backlog of songs. If you have a mind to, maybe check out the video This is BTS by XCeleste. Cheers.
@@Whyyougottabethisway - I wouldn't say they left a sour taste, I had never heard of the band or this song, so I did a little interweb walk around and kicked the tyres. By the way, western media have been creating false narratives on everything, so BTS should not feel like they have been picked on at random. But, if BTS has "millions of fans around the world of all ages, races, genders, and demographics", then why do their fans feel the need to manipulate an American music chart with a crowdfunded effort generated in Asia? Do Country & Western fans in America attempt to do the same thing for one of their artists in South Korean music charts? I would be surprised if that were the case. I realise the Billboard charts are already manipulated to some extent by the use of 'bundles' to include merchandise, and some of the artists who benefit from them have already complained about it, but that only boosts the marketing for sale of an individual single or album download. It doesn't manipulate the number of sales in the USA by use of 'armies' of fans across Asia and around the world. This is international interference in the sales charts of an internal market. I find that very sinister - and I chose my words very carefully, sinister is Latin for 'left', and the nation state and international borders have been under assault from leftist ideologies for many decades. I don't think K-POP is an existential threat to the American way of life, any more than The Beatles were, but this methodology should not become normalised in my view. It's an artificial distortion. It seems to me that this is a solution to a non-problem, BTS have already achieved phenomenal success without manipulating the American charts to make themselves look more successful than The Beatles - yes, I got that from watching 'This is BTS by XCeleste', because you went to the trouble of recommending it, and it all sounds perfectly lovely. And therein lies the danger. I just don't like being manipulated, either by slick propaganda or by legally manipulated sales figures. There's no need for any of it. Cheers.

The majority of BTS fans are not teenagers BTW. We can drink wine. I’m 50. I must have missed the part when you reacted to the song. I just heard you talk about how cute they are. Oh well…

How's Endeavor doing?
In light of recent events and the upcoming Memorial Day I would humbly ask you to react to the beautiful song “I Am a Patriot” by Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul…album version
What happened to her?
You've never listened to Rush? Might I suggest Tom Sawyer or Spirit of Radio . Cheers

Enjoyed your reaction, thank you! The English songs are great, but their Korean songs are amazing so please do react to those as well. Many have suggested Black Swan, here is a link and a few more:

CC's are a must for their Korean songs to understand the lyrics in English. Always watch the MV's to the end!
Lastly to avoid any copyright strikes just show the Big Hit/Hybe logo at the beginning of all their MV's.
NOTE: THE WORD NEGAE MEANS YOU/ME/I - not the word you think! Some misunderstand so best to get this out the way!

Looking forward to seeing more BTS reactions! Enjoy!

No problem. We all have individual tastes🍷🍷

To be honest, this group was not my cup of tea, as they struck me first and throughout as being a very packaged and commercially synthesized Group, which to me remains contrary to the creative process
But your reaction was energized, enthusiastic, full of excitement and done very well. Therefore, all at all, I enjoyed the viewing. Thanks much
Thanks...they are just very cute AND talented🍷🍷🍷
Hi Brian! I came to visit! I do like how BTS do their choreography! And if you're in the mood to dance ,it will work! Have a great week!😊
@@cherylreichardt hi, Cheryl! You have a great week too 🙂
Hi Cash, hope you're having a great weekend.
Not your cup of tea? My screaming at boy bands is over but the dancing is fab:)
@@cherylreichardt - I didn't want to unload on them completely, but I did think they were like seven Korean Michael Jacksons performing Smooth Criminal. I tend to scream because of boy bands, rather than at them.
Another 'like' for use of the word "fab".
@@davemac1197 😁👍
Hey Dave, I can see how all that left a sour taste in your mouth. I get it. But for years western media worked hard to create a false narrative about who BTS is and what they're capable of. They refused to give them radio play or any respect, despite their millions of fans around the world of all ages, races, genders, and demographics. (I'm 43 and NEVER been into boy bands.)
Fans created a groundswell to finally get them the respect they really do deserve.
Cheers.
We miss you
