Pomegranate tree has lots of branches, its bushy. So, what is the guideline or rational to follow when pruning? do you just cut off any extra branches at top, bottom, top heads, weak branches or what? Is there a recommended number of tree branches to leave behind? Otherwise I may just cut, cut, cut like the way you do it in video without explaining why you cut off that and left out the other.
He is just pruning to keep the height and shape. Removing suckers and to clear heavy growth area for more sunlight. His Pom is on the advance stage. So, pruning a young Pom can be different. Once you are on the advance stage, you just want to maintain the height and shape. On the young stage, you will have to decide on how many trunks to keep. I prefer 3-4 max or 1-2 trunks for cleaner looks. Choose the stronger branches and remove one that's weak or too close to each other or crossing each other. Determine the height you want. The higher the tree, the more fruits you will get. However, It will be harder to get them so high.
How do I prune it to grow in a tree form similar to an olive tree? This is how the commercial growers prune them in CA. I don’t care for yield as much as I care about aesthetics. I have 4 different varieties that are all one year old and very young.
Bro. If u are going for Ambe Bahar(that flowers in Jan/Feb) u can remove the sticks thickness of a pen refil and keep the pencil thickness. And if u are going for Mrig or hasta bahar u have to keep refill size stick and prune the tree very lightly and remove shoots (light green color leaves and water shoots(that grow on stem) only.

I hope u have planted them on raised beds if there is heavy rains in ur area, the water should not clog in ur plot. 2) give Cow Dung Manure atleast 2-to-5kg per plant along with DAP Fertilizer 200g and mgso4 50g per plant, water the plants little but we regular intervals. Let me know at what stage is ur plant, I ll guide u further. I can even tell u my whatsapp number if u need .
Also, rather than cutting hose many healthy branches off, can't I use air layering method to grow healthy big seedlings for resale, get more money? By that method, I can get a big 3 feet healthy seedling ready to sale within 6 weeks, yet its the size of 15 months year old tree.

I have planted both papaya and pomegranate on Aug 2017, after 7th month papaya started harvesting. By God's grace I got good rate. For Pomegranate need to fertilizer and farmyard manure based on the requirements. Now I have I mean after 18 months Pomegranate left for flowering, Jan 26th Ethel spray done and now fruits are lemon size

This video actually answered the most important question for me. You can plant more than 1 tree in the same hole and if you prune it correctly will look like one tree.
